I would firstly like to recognize God´s sovereignty in my life and that without His mercy towards me I wouldn’t be anything. Since I was born, my parents’ main concern was to teach me how to live the Christian lifestyle and obtain qualities like honesty, responsibility, and perseverance. I learned to be independent from a very young age since my parents couldn’t always help me with my homework or school related chores; but that shaped me to become what I am now, an organized and determined teenager. Sometimes you desire something, but the time and place aren’t right. Honduras is a beautiful country with hardworking people, but poverty and corruption are two words that always complement them. Journalism wouldn’t be the best choice when your voice either doesn’t matter or is censored. I began to feel like if I stayed in my own country, it would be a limitation and a burden for my dreams and plans of the future. I see myself as a famous columnist of the New York Times, traveling every corner of the world and gaining knowledge in every area possible. But as someone who dreams beyond what is known, comments begin to arise and there is always someone that tells me to “stick to the usual”, being a doctor or starting my own business. Even though my parents have always struggled with money, with a lot of effort I was able to study at a good school that teaches Christian values and has prestige. As I recently graduated from High School, I have taken my time to learn how to drive and to cook, since there are both essential knowledge we need in our adult life. Reading is another favorite thing I like to do to keep my mind constantly working. I have always had a desire of surpassing myself and going beyond average.
