I would firstly like to recognize God´s sovereignty in my life and that without His mercy towards me I wouldn’t be anything. Since I was born, my parents’ main concern was to teach me how to live the Christian lifestyle and obtain qualities like honesty, responsibility, and perseverance. I learned to be independent from a very young age since my parents couldn’t always help me with my homework or school related chores; but that shaped me to become what I am now, an organized and determined teenager. I discovered I loved writing poetry and short stories since I was a little girl. I had a big imagination and a thirst for knowledge that has stayed with me ever since. I realized three years ago that what I wanted to do with my life was to write …show more content…
Sometimes you desire something, but the time and place aren’t right. Honduras is a beautiful country with hardworking people, but poverty and corruption are two words that always complement them. Journalism wouldn’t be the best choice when your voice either doesn’t matter or is censored. I began to feel like if I stayed in my own country, it would be a limitation and a burden for my dreams and plans of the future. I see myself as a famous columnist of the New York Times, traveling every corner of the world and gaining knowledge in every area possible. But as someone who dreams beyond what is known, comments begin to arise and there is always someone that tells me to “stick to the usual”, being a doctor or starting my own business. Even though my parents have always struggled with money, with a lot of effort I was able to study at a good school that teaches Christian values and has prestige. I grew up learning English as my second language, and French as a third. I am currently studying German, trying to expand my levels of learning and opening more opportunities to the …show more content…
As I recently graduated from High School, I have taken my time to learn how to drive and to cook, since there are both essential knowledge we need in our adult life. Reading is another favorite thing I like to do to keep my mind constantly working. I have always had a desire of surpassing myself and going beyond average. This quality helped me to become an excellent student at school and outstand from my other classmates. I graduated high school with a second place in academic excellence, and I was awarded for my extraordinary leadership and my talent in singing. I feel satisfied for my performance at school since my early years up to now, and I am certain I have gained knowledge to be a good student and a committed, independent person at
I, Hope Turnbull, am a Senior of Stockton High School in Stockton Kansas. My plans consist of attending North Central Kansas Technical College starting Fall 2016, where I want to begin my study of nursing. Due to me having all of my general education courses finished upon my college arrival, I have been accepted into the first year Nursing Program (LPN). I believe that I deserve this scholarship due to me excelling in my education at a very young age. My grades are earned as A’s and B’s in school.
As a young lady graduating from The Dalles Whatonka High School I think it’s important to be involved in as many activity’s as possible. Throughout my high school years I have been involved in many school activities and comities such as student government. I have always had an interest in athletics and played sports. These leadership and athletic roles have tough me skills that will last me a lifetime.
As a child I did not know a lot about college. None of the adults in my life had been to College, my family did not talk about it, and it seemed like a distant land that I heard about only in movies and on Television. I was first introduced to college when my third grade class took a field trip to Iowa State University, clearly a much needed field trip considering my lack of exposure to higher education. I was immediately amazed by the grand architecture and massive buildings. I had never seen anything like a University campus before. The few things that I remember about the trip were that everything was big, the college students played with us, and we got to swim in the pool. While the larger purpose of the field trip may have been lost to my childhood excitement of getting to swim in a big pool, the field trip did mark the beginning of my knowledge of higher education and from then on I always viewed it as something that I would be a part of eventually, even if it did seem like a very distant future at age eight. As I grew older I developed other reasons for wanting to attend colle...
College Education is of the utmost importance to me especially when competing with people in my age group. A college education is also one of the most costly obligations that one must do to gain success. In my academic career, I have gain many experiences that I may not have been able to experience had I not attended a post-secondary education. A college education has never been an option for me it was always instilled in my brain as an adolescent as a top priority. In my youth I was certain of my goals and aspirations, the person that I wanted to become and where I see myself in the future. Some people in my same age group with similar upbringing as mine had ne focus. Their prerogative was to acquire money in any way that they knew how. Their options including, dealing drugs or for women prostitution and or becoming a hair stylist. I was adamant that in my profession a college education was not only necessary as a requirement to obtain a law license but also there were no exit strategies. To elucidate I am speaking of secondary options such as a technical school. My peers often believed that my choice would change and I was just hoping that their state of minds too would alter. My dreams of becoming a lawyer was slowly approaching as I reached the age of 18. High school teachers of mine often attempted to sway me into a different direction since I was not as outspoken as my fellow classmates. However, I would inform them just as I have revealed to others that my dream is everlasting and my path is clear. I will become a lawyer and today examining the course of my short academic years—spending only 17 years in school beginning with Head Start- I would be the attorney I have always wanted to be. Life has not always been daisies wi...

Reasons Why You Are Most Likely Not Going To Get A Scholarship So you think you want to pursue life with your head held high and your dreams right in front of you? If you’re like most children in the United States of America, you believe that you’ll do great in sports, continue to do them up to high school, and then receive a scholarship and make your way into some pricey college while continuing to play the sport you’ve been playing since you learned how to walk. I’m here to tell you that your dream is not as realistic as you think it is. Just because you look good kicking/ throwing/ hitting a ball or some other special talent, doesn’t mean that the NCAA will come running up to you will wide open arms saying you can go anywhere you want
I am immensely satisfied with the grades that I earned during my high school career. Getting good grades has never been too much of a struggle for me as I am raised by parents who are both teachers and encourage me to excel in the classroom everyday. I comprehend quickly and enjoy learning as it will make my future brighter. There have been times when I spent countless weekends doing all of my homework instead of enjoying it with friends, but those times have been worth it because my grade point average is a 4.22. I have learned something from every class that I have taken, whether is was a mathematical formula in calculus or how to take care of residents in nursing homes for my SNA class. All of this knowledge will help grow
My junior and senior years were very important to me, because I knew one day I would attend college. Making 3.0’s and higher my last two years of high school made me very proud. During my final two years in high school I had to decide on college. As days passed by, I finally sat down and talked to my mother about college. I knew already I wanted to go to college and major in Animal Science, then further my education to become a veterinarian.
I was not the most studious throughout high school. If I would have realized the person and student, I should have been earlier in high school, I could have saved myself the regret. I overcame the student that I was and now I am the student that I knew I could be. My grades are beneficial at this point and I want to continue to pursue the grades that I have, studying a communication's
This was in 2010, back when I was careless, naïve and immature. At this point in my life, my goal was to learn everything I could in as well as outside of the classroom. Giving back to my community by beginning to volunteer at Boys and Girls club. I served as a tutor, working primarily with elementary students. This was a refreshing change of perspective as I was now serving as a supplemental instructor.
When I get ready for school I always feel inspired and know that I am making the right decision. I want to be an inspiration to my younger family members to continue their education after high school. Being the first in the child to graduate college makes me feel like a genius. My best friends inspired my intercreativity to strive and work hard for my dreams. The advantage of going back to school and being an inspiration to my younger siblings has started a competition better other siblings to see who can make the best of their life. School influenced me and the people surrounding me to
Today is October 11, 2016 and I know the person I want to be but, be warned that maybe a year from now I may find myself in an emotional state of unknowingness and confusion. If you think about it, it’s kind of funny and strange that when you’re in pre-K, first or second grade they ask you the person who you would like to be in the future and then and there without previous thought or meditation some of some sort, a career you’ve heard about pops up in your head, and you just yell it out loud with such proudness: “I want to be a doctor!” Yes, that was then when you were still a young kid, but oh how I wish I had that same confidence and security I had as a child.
A global citizen is that who is willing to use its voice and knowledge to make a change. No one would ever be able to make a change in just one day, it is something that takes time and devotion. I’m really interested in diversity and I’m seeking to what is my role is as a world citizen. The fact that I’m searching for an international education is the proof of my desire to establish myself as a global citizen and my interest in the world issues.
My biggest accomplishment in school is when I graduated high school early despite what others said. I decided that public high school was not for me, because of all of the distractions I had. So I begged my mom to transfer me to butterflied high school. I went one time a week to meet with my teacher were I turned in all my homework and took my tests. I feel that going
Threw out my school career I’ve never knew exactly what I wanted to do when I grew up and threw the out the years my ideas of what will make me happy has changed as well. All I knew from a young age was that I wanted to go to college, get a great job, and most importantly to be happy. International millionaire with 3 pet tiger was the dreams of a young elementary school student. This dream belonged to me when I was in the second grade. The third day of school my teacher wanted to get to know her student by asking them questions about themselves.
