The significance of medical research provides us with the knowledge of preventions and treatments of diseases as well as improving the quality of life of countless patients. Thus, it captured my attention for biomedical science, along with my learning of the discovery void period. The faith that someday I can assist in the process of creating new antibiotics is why I have a desire to pursue this degree.
At A-Level I decided to study Biology and Chemistry, both of which have improved my understanding of the natural world. In Biology, I enjoyed studying about the evolutionary race between humans and microbes. The idea that the evolution of mankind’s immune system is no match to that of pathogens due to their rapid reproduction and their ability to share plasmids has fascinated me. By researching this topic in depth, I

During the scheme, I was taught basic sign language which gave me an opportunity to interact with children who had Autism, Down Syndrome and Cerebral palsy. Learning about the disabilities beforehand had helped me in assisting the children. One of the things I learnt was that playing catch with a child who has ADHD helped them with dealing with instructions. The program helped me visualise the areas I have learnt about in class such as the effects one mutation can have on a person. Additionally, I have also taken part in a further maths enrichment course at King's College London. There I was able to uncover my passion for analytical thinking as well as gain skills to interact with university lecturers whilst developing my problem-solving skills. During this two year course, I confirmed my interest in going to university, due to the fascinating learning environment created in which students were able to use what they had learned outside the classroom, for instance, using statistics and probability to make weather
.... Without these systems humans would be extinct, because these systems provide humans the nutrients, energy, oxygen, and many other substances that humans cannot live without. All these systems and functions work together as a whole. Biochemistry helps develop medicine and medicine is used every day in life. Without medicine many diseases and flus would not be cured. But not everyone catches or has the same types of diseases or flus, therefore biochemists developed different medication for different bodies and flus. But it is in the hands of the doctors, pharmacists, or the physician’s to prescribe the right medication for the patient, and this is taught in biochemistry. Therefore a student who wants join to the medical field should study human anatomy so the he/she is aware of the human structure. And also study biochemistry to have strong knowledge in medicine.
I’m ambitious to learn new things especially when I'm interested in them; this course provides me with a continuous learning platform that will progress through university as
My desire of studying biomedical sciences stems from my sciences interest, as it demonstrates a world not visible to the naked eye, plays a big role in everyday life. science specifically biology and chemistry are stimulating and challenging subjects , over the years of studying them ,my interest has increased because learning things about how our bodies function and how it relates to god’s creation is particularly interesting for me. I also find it very important because I’m Muslim. The biomedical science degree will open for me the door to learn more about the vast field of biology and its branches to a greater depth. I developed my knowledge in the science field by taking support classes in the lab at school; I was fascinated by how the body can function in different circumstances and the complexity of DNA, different organisms, chemical reactions, and also very importantly the mathematical aspect which gives me the chance to develop and use my logic and it inform me to new ways of looking at given problems.
In order to make biomedical science maintain and reinforce its link with the true good of man and society, it is necessary to foster, as the Holy Father recalls in the sacred book, the bible, a "contemplative look" on man himself and on the world, As realities created by God, and in the context of solidarity between science, the good of the person and
I’m a student at Tompkins Cortland Community College this is my first semester as a college student. I plan to go to college for four years and only be at TC3 for this one semester, then transfer to a four year school. College has grown around the world more than ever and more people are attending college more than ever. I have chosen to go to college because of the rewards after graduation. Yes it is another four years of school but by getting more education and an extended degree gives me more opportunities for better jobs and more money. The career I have chosen to study is business administration. I am hoping that it takes me to a great job managing a company or possibly being an accountant.
Overall, I felt that this course has thought me to work well with other and how to investigate and research to find solutions to problems. I am now going to discuss some specific artifacts in my portfolio that represents my
The human body is an inexplicable creation; it is a convoluted and diverse system that protects, supports, and enables our lives. Moreover, our everyday performance relies solely on biomedical sciences. The biomedical sciences and medical practices are areas of acquired ability that is always advancing which has essentially changed the lives of a myriad of individuals. Because there are so many positive impacts within the biomedical sciences, it is no exaggeration to say that the ambition to contribute to the fields within the biomedical sciences has long fed my compulsion to study biomedical, or science related courses at a higher level in a University. Acting on this ambition to further broaden my understanding on my subject choice, I was fortuitous enough to land a work experience placement through a class at my local emergency room shadowing emergency room physicians and emergency room nurses.
I am Fasiha Abdul Rehman, holding a professional degree of Doctor of Pharmacy at 23 years of age; with a deeper interest in contributing to the understanding of diabetes and cardiovascular diseases and unveiling new information for medical advancement and betterment of mankind and I envisage Masters as crucial step in this direction.
Most importantly I learned how to care for children safely. When working with children on the Autism spectrum it is especially important to be mindful of safety considering they may not understand the dangers that they face. Successfully keeping all my campers safe and happy has given me full confidence that I could do the same for a classroom of children. Additionally, Autism Ontario has taught me the power of redirecting negative behaviours. This skill is essential considering it is much more beneficial to the student to refocus their behaviours into positives instead of punishing them and in turn affecting their education0.
I have always been intrigued by the field of science and that is the reason I pursued the field of Biochemistry for my undergraduate studies. How The Human body works and the different determinants that can affect one's health or a community as a whole have always been captivating to me. I wanted to emerge in a profession that is beneficial for me, my community, and the world I live in. I came to realize through various science courses and health care experiences that a career in health care was the best path for me to outreach my community and the world.
In the course of medical study, innovation has always been a savior. In our darkest hour, when disease pushed the populace to the edge, innovations in medical science have saved us. Innoculations, vaccines, germ theory, painkillers, antibiotics, Stem Cells, CRISPR... all of these have picked up the slack and carried medicine forward.
The world of science has always attracted my attention from a young age, of how the building blocks in every single living organism and non-living material are formed by tiny atoms. Throughout the years in education studying Biology and Chemistry my interest grew as I learnt more and more about the structural constituents required in order to form complex molecules. Studying A Level Biology and Chemistry has expanded my knowledge to a greater understanding of these chemical constituents to a molecular atomic level, and the human anatomy as well as immunology in how we function in order to survive, sustain and strive in life. So I believe Biomedical Science is the ideal course for me due to the applicable knowledge I have gained from A Level Biology and Chemistry. It has also intrigued me to how medicines are made to deal with the most feared diseases.
From Natural selection to the discovery of DNA, the scientific community has been constantly enlightened by biological breakthroughs which now play a vital role in our understanding of the world today. It is great discoveries like this that have inspired me to study biology at University. Biology is the science of life- to unravel its secrets through dedication, research and a deeper understanding of how nature works at both a cellular and universal level, would be one of my goals. I hope to continue my journey towards this goal at your university. Biology is a vast field and I have been particularly drawn to Microbiology.
For my undergraduate studies, I took admission to University of Dhaka, the highest echelon of academic excellence in Bangladesh majoring Microbiology. The academic studies, different national seminars and international journals were some sources for me to understand the real prospect of studying microbiological research to achieve my goals. And the step I took in research work during my undergraduate research project created an ever-growing thirst for unraveling the mysterious, yet orderly, biological process. My heart wants me to be a research scientist in microbiology. And now I am planning to pursue my future graduate studies in your esteemed institute.
Completing my undergraduate degree and being the first in my family to ever attend a
