Why I Attend College Essay

The reasons I would love to attend college are because of both personal experience, and because I want to reach the full potential God has gifted me with. Throughout my life I have been faced with many struggles regarding my health. When I was young, I loved playing sports and dreamed of competing on high school teams. The Lord, however, had other plans for my life. As a result of my health struggles I have been attending physical therapy consistently for the past six years. Through the years, I have seen the miraculous ways the therapists have helped not only me, but all of the patients that walked through their door. For example, I watched them turn a workout center into a Star Wars lair in order to inspire a 5 year old boy to fight through the hardships of his heart surgery recovery. Through the inspiration they hoped to pass on to him, they inspired me to try to make the same difference. Seeing firsthand the affect that a physical therapist can make has opened my eyes to see what I really want to do with my life. If I have learned one thing from them, it has been that God gives us all different strengths and talents, but what good are they if they aren't used for the glory of God? “Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms. If anyone speaks, they should do so as one who speaks the very words of God. If anyone serves, they should do so with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever.
