Why I Want To Go To College Essay

It is important to further my education because knowledge is one element in life that leads to the highest success.

Millions of high school seniors are faced with the arduous decision to either continue their education at a higher institution of learning or go straight into the workforce after graduation. There are many factors that play into the decision. The greatest one being what they want to do with their lives. I made the decision to go to college because I want to be an aerospace engineer for my future career. By furthering my education, I can receive the knowledge necessary to achieve this goal.

Ever since I was a young boy, my mother and brother have been my biggest supporters; they have always encouraged me to dream big and to never let anything stand in the way of my dreams. Their struggles in life have been my motivation towards reaching the pinnacle of success. My mother has worked tirelessly and made sacrifices to enable me to have as many opportunities as possible, which will give me the chance to have a better life than she has had. My brother has stepped up to be a father figure in my life; he never completed his college degree and he

regrets that. He always pushes me to not be satisfied with what I have, but to stay passionate and continue pursuing greater achievements beyond what is possible. I am eternally grateful for my mother and brother's support. I owe much of my success to them.
For as long as I can remember, I have wanted to be an aerospace engineer.

The inspiration for my desire to become an aerospace engineer stems from my mom, who would take me to Lunken Airport for the yearly air show. I was in awe of all the different planes and jets. I was curious how something of that magnitude could soar through the air so gracefully. All engineering jobs start with a bachelor's degree, but my goal is to first earn my master’s degree and eventually pursue my doctorate degree. I want to be the best and brightest in my field, and by continuing my education until I earn a doctorate degree that will be possible. I hope to receive a position at NASA after college graduation. I have always wanted to work at NASA because of my strong curiosity with aircrafts. Working for NASA is my greatest

aspiration.
I have applied to Miami University, University of Cincinnati, The Ohio State University, and Ohio University to continue my college education. I have been accepted into all of the colleges that I am considering. I have applied to these colleges because they have some of the best engineering schools in Ohio; engineering is a five year major so I want to receive my degree at one of the best engineering programs in the state.
My education will prepare me to fully participate and contribute to the field of engineering through various career-readiness experiences. One such experience is hands-on, real world training. The best way to gain this hands-on experience is through internships or co-ops. These are both helpful because I will be learning while working so that I am gaining valuable knowledge and experience in my field prior to graduation. It will also help me have a career path because I will either receive an offer from the company where I am interning or I will be able to have the edge with other companies because of my in-depth experience. I will be ready to work in that entry-level position right away. Another opportunity is working with my professors outside of the classroom, such as research projects or attending conferences. Working with professors will give me the opportunity to gain knowledge that I may not have access to in the classroom. These steps can be vital in the pursuit of my education.
Through the years, there have been a countless number of people that have helped to show me what possibilities I have in my future. By earning my college education I hope to be a role model for the next generation of Americans. I want to show them that anything is possible if you are determined and do not let anything or anyone come between you and your aspirations. Many people have helped develop me into the person I am today, and I feel it is important for me to take the lessons learned and pass them on to others, so they know that it is possible for them to achieve their dreams.
Graduating from college is especially important to me; it will enable me to have an unlimited number of opportunities for success. The importance of furthering my education is paramount.
