Why Do Kids Get Allowance

Today I will be talking about if kids should get an allowance no matter what, or if they should be awarded with some cash for good behavior, and/or good grades. I will list some of the pros of having kids be awarded with cash for having good grades, and good behavior, and how it can make them feel good, make them financially responsible, and some other topics. I think that parents should reward their children with some cash when they do some chores, or have good behavior. If the parents do so, it may result in good behavior all throughout. It would also help kids become more active, so they would want to do more to help out, which should help the parents out a bit. This also may help some kids be better people, and not have them become spoiled little brats. Kids may also feel good when they’re rewarded with the money, because they know that they’ve earned it. The parents may also have more control, as they can “threaten” to subtract a few dollars from their allowance after they start acting up, or start leaning towards bad behavior. …show more content…

The money that could’ve been used on food and supplies are wasted. If kids got money for nothing they would also spend it all in one place, however, if they earned it, they wouldn’t waste money by spending it in one place. Earning money is how it works in the real world, and when kids earn money for doing work, that can help prepare them for a real job. When kids earn money it can teach them important values, and affect their behavior later on. It can help the parents out a lot, too, by lessening the load of work that they have to
