I chose Saint Leo because he was a warrior and had protected our church many times. He helped better the world by protecting the church throughout his 21 years as Pope against forces that were far more superior than the armies back then. For those acts he was declared doctor of the church in 1754. This is why he was the first Pope ever to be given the title Great he was well deserving of this title.
Saint Leo was born in Tuscany Italy in 400. He was born to a noble Roman family and was a very good student during his years at school in scripture and in theology which was a better name for religious studies. When he grew he became a priest and was a very skilled speaker and write which helped him continue preaching about God and how he is the redeemer of the world and how we should all follow him. In the years before he was to be elected as Pope, Leo was a deacon of the church. One time when he was out preaching he received a letter saying he had been affirmed Bishop of Rome.
Leo was made Pope in 440 and served till 461 when he died. Many of Leo’s writings affirmed that Jesus is truly God and truly man these writings were spoken about at the Council of Chalcedon. He showed his love for God and others by teaching about God and spreading his word to people who did not believe he helped those who were not catholic and those people were saved.

For this a reason he is a great example to all of humanity in which everyone should look up to him and follow God because of how Leo portrayed him and his endless glory. Leo’s example made him a great person and helped God’s kingdom become more populated with followers because of his great teaching. I can be more like him by being braver about my faith and working on spreading my faith to all those who may not follow him. I want to be just like him except be a priest he models all that a person should live by and
Saint Christopher is my favorite saint for a multitude of reasons. Let's just get the easy one out of the way which is that both he and I share the same name. With that aside, Saint Christopher is also my favorite saint as he is the patron saint of transportation and travel. My family and I enjoy traveling and exploring and before every trip, I say a short prayer to Saint Christopher , and not once has our family gotten into any major issues traveling. The biggest reason Saint Christopher is my favorite saint is that I admire his eagerness to serve others. Before helping to carry people across the river, Saint Christopher searched for who he though was the most powerful person in the world, so that he could serve them. And after that event with the Christ-Child at the river, Saint Christopher was said to of gone to a town in Asia Minor called Lycia, where he ministered to the Christian population there until he was beheaded in the year 251. Regardless of whether his story is true or not, and whether he even existed, Saint Christopher is a good model to look up

Father Solanus did his best to help build the reign of God. He preached to Catholics and non-Catholics alike about God and Jesus. He invited all people to join the reign of God by loving God and loving their neighbors. Fr. Solanus worked hard to preach the good news of the gospel to everyone. He also worked hard trying to feed the poor and heal the sick, just as Jesus did. Fr. Solanus's whole life was devoted to helping the reign of God, just like Jesus' was.
He made a massive impact on the Catholic Church because he changed so many things during his time so that everyone would be treated fairly and evenly. One of Luther's main roles was that he was the leader of the Lutheran's. The Lutherans were the type of people who supported Luther and his ideas and followed him with what his teachings were about. A lot of these people were protestants because once Luther spoke up to the Catholic Church they all saw that they were being taken advantage of. Luther's beliefs were based on 'Faith + Good works = Heaven'. This was one of the many things that protestants believed would be the reason why they would be sent to Heaven. Luther felt that the Catholic Church weren't interpreting the bible correctly which is why Martin made the 95 Theses. The 95 Theses contained offence on papal abuses and the sale of indulgences by the church in 1517. When Luther refused to take back his offence, Pope Leo X outlined a statement about the Church's doctrine on indulgences and wanted Luther's ideas to be condemned of. By the time that Luther brought more and more attention to himself he had the support of many German society's. Pope Leo X gave Luther 60 days to recant or he would face excommunication. As many of Luther's books were being burned Luther published an open letter to Pope Leo X announcing that he will still be continuing about his opinion on false doctrine and corruption in the

He is a very powerful priest, and because he is so emotional and intelligent his sermons are masterpieces, and very persuasive to his congregation. He is a very powerful speaker and a compassionate leader, and his congregation has the most upright respect for him, and receives deep spiritual guidance from his sermons. He was even chosen to do the Election Day sermon, the most important sermon of the year. Ironically the Election Day sermon was his most powerful, as well as his last sermon he ever preached before he died. The town idolized him, and after his last sermon the town's fascination with him reached new heights.
His initial reason for traveling to Rome was to “set the affairs of the church in order, because all was confusion;” however, his final trip to Rome caused him to be crowned emperor. (christ203). One of the affairs of the church was that Pope Leo “tore out his eyes and cut out his tounge” (christ203). Although Charlemagne did not expect to be crowned emperor, it allowed the pope to obtain military security from Charlemagne (book). “He was the first Emperor to rule since the Fall of Rome”-reword (livescience.com) His motto as Emperor was “Revival of the Roman empire.” (book). Charlemagne also realized the laws of the Romans were faulty. “He decided to add what was missing, sort out the discrepancies, and correct what was wrong.” (chrisitan203). Pope Leo then said "life and victory to Charles Augustus, crowned by God, the great and peaceful emperor of the Romans." (add somewhere)
The Emperor Constantine I was the sole ruler of the Roman world between 324 and 337 A.D. His reign was one of the most crucial of all the emperors in determining the future course of western civilization. By making Christianity the religious foundation of his domain, he set the religious course for the future of Europe which remains in place to this very day. Because he replaced Rome with Constantinople as the center of imperial power, he made it clear that the city of Rome was no longer the center of power and he also set the stage for the Middle Ages. His view of monarchy became the foundation for the concept of the divine right of kings.

Saint Catherine of Siena is the saint that I have chosen to be my saint. She was very interesting to me, and her story was very intriguing. She is the patron saint of fire prevention, bodily ills, sick people, miscarriages, nurses, and illness. She was canonized in 1461 by Pope Pius II. Her feast day is now celebrated on April 29.
He was the one that called together to give a speech to all Christians about the invasion that was going to occur on Jerusalem, he left a huge mark in the history of the medieval times. ‘He died on the 29th July 1099 (the year that the first crusade finished), fourteen days after the capture of Jerusalem, but before the tidings of that event had reached Italy, Pope Paschal II killed him’. His role in this crusade was convincing the Christians to accompany him in taking over Jerusalem. His significance is based solely around the fact that he began the crusades and the establishment of land and economy within Europe (Western Europe) would not have been provided without him, let alone the positive effects of every other
Jesus Christ’s life and mission, which is now present worldwide, is the origin of the Roman Catholicism. Catholics believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God who became man, died and rose from the dead to redeem humanity from sin (Catholic Truth Society, 3). He passed his mission of salvation to the Catholic Church through his apostles and then their successors (Catholic Truth Society, 4).
Martin Luther was born on November 10, 1483, in Eisleben, Germany. Hans, his father was a miner and his mother, Margarette, looked after their three children while Hans Luther was working. In 1501, Martin went the University of Erfurt where he received a Masters Degree in Arts because he was going to follow what his father wanted him to do and be a lawyer, until one day there was a storm in Germany and Martin prayed to God hoping he would be saved from a terrible storm so he stated, “save me St. Anne, and I’ll become a monk.” He wanted to keep his promise so then he joined the monastery a few months later, but describes that he didn’t find the enlightenment he was looking for. Martin went to the University of Wittenberg to hopefully end his confusion about his spirituality. While he was there he received a doctorate and then became a professor of theology at the same university. Finally, Martin Luther realizes the truth about the Roman Catholic Religion.
