Cooking competitions are exciting and fun to watch because of the suspense and wonders of what might something taste like. The competitors seem to be well experienced every time there is a cook off is in town there are lots of professional cooks and chefs which makes the competition more aggressive and interesting. They also have amateur competitions which when anybody can enter and win. Cooking competitions can and will help in the culinary field if you are trying to get a job and need experience. They will also have contestants more recognized by other restaurants and people trying to start a business. This will also give chefs and cooks feedback on what to do better with their cooking because the food is being judged. These competitions will drastically improve the success of any cook in the culinary field.
To become a top chef or cook you need to have experience also to get a job you need experience also. Being in cooking competitions will help with working under pressure because of all of the people watching and that the food will be judged and tasted. There are different types of competitions, local cook offs, television competitions, and national competitions. Local competitions help with pressure because of the huge amount of people coming to taste all different versions of the same food.

People are influenced by everything from jobs, music, fashion, certain people, even to different cultures. Chefs never seemed like the group of people one would expect to have an impact on the world, but they do. They change the way people see food and show that it is far more than just a way to stay alive it is sort of like a new way of life to say. There was one woman who changed the scene entirely, by graduating from the Parisian cooking school Le Cordon Bleu, publishing 19 books, airing 13 television shows, and having 8 DVD releases. Julia Child has been an inspiration for many cooks but has also influenced society as a whole while changing the way people thought about food and at the same time, revolutionizing the professional cooking industry for women.

Healthy competition can drive people forward. Allowing a kid to doing what they want because they enjoy it can open them up socially by allowing them to reach out and teach others that don’t have that same niche. If we force a child to be overly competitive, this decreases the child’s ability to grow in other areas in life because they are too focused on being the best. If they don’t live up their standards of being the best, this will cause the child to be insecure about their abilities and they will constantly seek approval. Unhealthy competition can detrimental later on in life when trying to get into a great school, find a partner or in getting a job.
A culinary chef has many skills and responsibilities that are not only necessary and useful, but also required to succeed. According to the United States Department of Labor, Bureau of Labor Statistics, “Chefs and head cooks oversee the daily food preparation at restaurants and other places where food is served. They direct kitchen staff and handle any food-related concerns.” (“Chefs and Head Cook”) I have three main reasons for choosing the culinary field. The first is I have a lot of experience with and around kitchens and I know I really enjoy the atmosphere of a kitchen. Yes, it is to a certain extent. Competition is good for us as it challenges each individual. Without competition, there would be no standards and we would not know how to improve on areas we lack. In addition, we may not know where we stand, be it mentally, physically and academically. Different kinds of competition challenge us in different aspects and helps us to progress and move with times.
It takes a lot of hard work and dedication to be a chef. However, if one has a passion for cooking it will pay off. I am a creative person and cooking has endless possibilities of creativity, such as the way you make it and the way you plate it. I want to become a chef and hopefully open a restaurant one day. To do that, you need to learn the basic skills. Julia Child once said, “No one is born a great cook, one learns by doing.”
