Many governments send children to become soldiers. In my opinion I think that children should have a childhood and it’s wrong to take them away from their parents. I disagree because children could get hurt, also there is a lot of violence for children to see or to get hurt. Parents would get worried about them. Although some people might not agree with me, several reason support my opinion. My first reason is that children wanna be a soldiers because they think it’s cool and some are worried. Another reason is that children would get worried and also parents. Finally is that children do wanna see their parents.
My first reason is that children want to be soldiers because they think it’s cool and some children are scared that they would never see their parents. I also think it’s not fair that a lot of children see their parents everyday even in special days. While some children don’t ever see their

Some kids do get mad or sad because they want to see their parents, I think that is fine but they also need to take care of their children. Parents need to be with their children, the reason that I think that kids and parents care too much about their kids. The reason parents miss their children is because they protected them too much or some parents are overprotected because they think that they might get hurt. Other than that some parents don’t care about their children or their health.
Some people might argue that kids should become a child soldier, in my opinion is that kids are not ready to be getting hurt is because their still kids. However, my reason show that kids or teens are not a lound to be using violence or to use anything that would hurt kids. What I’m also trying to say is that violence is not the best thing on anyone. Kids should just play and enjoy whatever they are doing. I prefer that kids should go to school and to be just kids and not to be
In Enders Game by Orson Scott Card, earth has gone through two fierce wars with an alien species called the Formics, or more commonly known as the Buggers. The first invasion, the Bugger’s were exploring life outside of their solar system. The second invasion the Bugger’s wanted to colonize earth. After the first Bugger invasion, the countries of the world decided to come together and create a single government. This new government was called the Hegemony and ruled earth by taking advantage of human’s xenophobia of the Buggers. Under the Hegemony, “countries” shared resources, technology, and soldiers. Child soldiers precisely. The Hegemony formed the IF (international fleet) after the second invasion to train and develop child soldiers against the Buggers. The IF created multiple stages of training including, Battle School, Pre-command School, and finally Command School. But why use children? Answering goes back to the Formic’s invasions of earth and the near extinction of humanity. Scrutiny of the decision was based not on the reason the IF chose child soldiers, but in the use of child soldiers. The Hegemony concluded that no matter the moral questioning children are better soldiers as they: don’t have anxiety over taking risks, are far easier to manipulate, and children don’t have huge ego’s standing in the way.
As defined by Timothy Webster, author of Babes with Arms: International Law and Child Soldiers, a child soldier is “any person under the age of eighteen who is or has been associated with any kind of regular or irregular armed group, including those who serve as porters, spies, cooks, messengers and including girls recruited for sexual purposes (Webster, 2007, pp.230). As this definition reveals, a child soldier is more than simply a child with a gun. It is estimated that there are approximately 300,000 children under the age of 18, being used as soldiers in 33 conflicts currently, and this figure continues to rise (Webster, 2007, pp.227). Similarly, in 1999 it was estimated that more than 120,000 children, under the age of 18, were used as soldiers to fight ...
Many kids are involved around the world in violent wars as child soldiers. These children who were forced into being soldiers had no other choice but to face their own death and therefore should be granted amnesty. This is because the great majority of the kids were forced into being war fighters. Even then, some people think that just because they’re kids doesn’t change the fact that they have performed horrible acts, and that they should be punished for their actions. Also, these kids were forced to take drugs and drink alcohol which influenced bad decisions and made them less thoughtful about the harm they were doing. So, child soldiers should get another chance and be granted amnesty after proven worthy.
Growing up I always had to deal with the fact that my father was involved in the military. My father was deployed twice: once in Germany, and later to Kuwait. I was only four years old when he first traveled and almost every day I asked where dad was. The second time I was fourteen, and I was devastated that my best friend wasn’t going to be home for a year. Both times he left, it was awful for my mom, my brother, and me because he was the one person that kept us together as a family and once he was gone we were just broken. A military family goes through more than a regular family does in a year. Those veterans have families, how do people think they feel. Children who live in a military family have a higher risk of depression, anxiety, and other mental issues. Although many people believe that we should send our soldiers overseas to keep our country safe, there is no reason why our
In order to understand the effects that come with being a child soldier, one must first understand how a child ends up in such a position. To three teenage boys living in a small Indian village, the hope of a better life for themselves and their families as well as the affirmation of employment seemed promising. So pr...
Andy grew up as a military child and he assures, “Being in a military family I can appreciate the veterans and their families more.” (Moore) Military children recognize the importance of sacrificial service that their parent committed. This ensures parents that raising a child in the military can help develop an appreciative, respectful, and prideful child by experiencing and interacting within the military lifestyle. The military provides a strong structure or values and traits that promote a healthy development of characteristics for
Children at such a young age don't have the mental ability to think long term about their actions, especially when they are being forced or drugged. Some may argue that if child criminals get punished for their actions, then child soldiers should too, but that is just not the case. The difference being, child criminals choose to commit their crimes, child soldiers are forced to commit crimes. As an example, in the article Child Soldiers it states, “More often than not, children have no say in whether they enlist or not and once recruited the children have become brainwashed through the use of drugs and alcohol” (Child Soldiers).
What words do you think of when you hear the word, “soldier”? You may think: Military. Fighter.Warrior. Brave. But do you think of the word “children”? In Ender’s Game, by Orson Scott Card, children are recruited by the government to become soldiers in the war against the buggers; aliens who invaded Earth twice and threatened the existence of the human race. One child in specific, Ender, was chosen as a potential commander. We don 't realize, but the best military forces in history were children trained to act like adults. For example, the Spartan Army of ancient Greece trained all boys at a young age to become strong elite fighters. It was their duty to endure rigorous training and withstanding mock battles, similar to the Launchies
Over the years, many militants and rebel groups have propped up across Africa. because of the exist of these rebel groups, they trained child as their Jetton. Shockingly, many of them have often been spotted carrying very sophisticated weapons, and many weapons that can take down planes. child soldier is detrimental to peace and to children who are the future (britjob p6). most of people are wondering that why children are use as soldiers. the most basic reason is children are more obedient than adults, they almost can carry out every orders from their command...
American children should be educated more about the psychological trauma that co-exists with foreign wars. The violence of the war spreads though the nation, having a major affect on the children. Children are more vulnerable to suffering from parental psychological problems. Since children are inherently dependent on their parents that makes them vulnerable to suffering from the same problems that they see in their parents. Studies have shown that children with parents that served in the military have a higher risk of undergoing child abuse. American children should understand the costs of war and its consequences both in the emotional effects of physical costs of war and in the financial burden that comes with physical costs.
Throughout the world children younger than 18 are being enlisted into the armed forces to fight while suffering through multiple abuses from their commanders. Children living in areas and countries that are at war are seemingly always the ones being recruited into the armed forces. These children are said to be fighting in about 75 percent of the world’s conflicts with most being 14 years or younger (Singer 2). In 30 countries around the world, the number of boys and girls under the age of 18 fighting as soldiers in government and opposition armed forces is said to be around 300,000 (“Child Soldiers: An Overview” 1). These statistics are clearly devastating and can be difficult to comprehend, since the number of child soldiers around the world should be zero. Furthermore, hundreds of thousands adolescent children are being or have been recruited into paramilitaries, militias and non-state groups in more than 85 countries (“Child Soldiers: An Overview” 1). This information is also quite overwhelming. Child soldiers are used around the world, but in some areas, the numbers are more concentrated.
By definition, a child soldier is any person below 18 years of age who is recruited or used by an armed force in any capacity, including but not limited to children, boys and girls, used as fighters, coo...
Some young people are not fit to be in the military. They may not run as fast or do as much and that can be bad if they are running from someone or something. They may not be able to hide or fight. If they can hide or fight then they can't get away and they can die. They may also not be fit in the mind. If that happened then they can see something and think it is something else or may hurt someone they are trying to help.
Maybe children was the only way to defeat the Buggers, because they could outsmart the Buggers. It has been said in an online article by Malik Muftau that “Kid’s prefrontal brain are not as developed as adult’s which help kids learn about things, but in adults it helps them preform.”. Could that mean that Graff used children because, they can study their enemy faster than adults could? “The Child Soldier Prevention Act of 2008” (according to wikipedia) Is an act that was passed by George W. Bush on October 3,2008 prevents and criminalizes military forces that recruit child soldiers. A definition from “The Child Soldier Prevention Act of 2008” from Wikipedia (the free encyclopedia) States that Child Soldiers includes “Any person under 18 years of age who has been recruited into governmental armed forces.” Maybe Graff had some personal reasons, and wanted children to grow up with no childhood, and just learn military
School systems should teach an unbiased point of view of war to enable the child to make their own decision to fight for one's country. Is it Glorious to Die for your Country? Within the education system it was instructed to the teachers to teach the children at a young age during the brink of war to instill that their the life of the country and for them to defend their country against the enemy. Teachers showed being in a army was representing honour and the pride of the country. Guilt was laid on the students who showed rebellion by the teacher. Many times the teacher would try to show a soldier that looks happy and content trying to represent being a soldier makes you happy and content.
