Recommended: How to motivate others
Many people today in the world face the struggle of pushing themselves to do more than what they already know how to do. Almost everyone as a child can remember a time when their grandparents and parents would tell them stories about how if it was not for them challenging themselves to do different things they would not be where they are today. Pushing oneself beyond what is perfected, in order to obtain growth, is necessary to have more of a widespread of opportunity, a successful future, discovery and growth mentally. A numerous amount of opportunities can come if people today would just go beyond what is expected. People expect things to come directly to them without them putting some input in. It just takes the courage to go above the ability that is within themselves. The knowledge and maturity level of a humans mind can expand by challenging themselves to exceed above what they have already mastered. As teens and adults ,even children, get older they realize that they have gotten better mentally. Many accomplish and experience it because of the hard work from pushing themselves to reach the next level. My father used to work twelve hours delivering mail for the United States Postal Service. The pay was excellent but the labor was tiresome and he was not always happy and not enjoying life; he left the job and started mentoring and encouraging people, in which he never thought he could do. Instead of staying on the job he pushed himself past the mail man and discovered his hidden talent that grew himself and other people. Just one push can take you a long way and improve your intellectual mind. A prospering future can come easily by going beyond of what is capable of oneself. If a person does not motivate themselves to do more, how can they expect themselves to get somewhere in life. People all around the world have thousands of ideas every day; if they do not take one of those ideas and take it beyond just a thought it will become a dead
“There is no elevator to success, you have to take the stairs,” was said by motivational speaker and American author Zig Ziglar. This relates to Carol S. Dweck’s article “Brainology” and Sherman Alexie’s essay “Superman and Me.” Ziglar, Dweck, and Alexie all feel that it isn’t easy for someone to become successful. It takes hard work, perseverance, and the want to learn and grow. In Dweck’s article, she stated that someone with a growth mindset would become more successful and knowledgeable than someone with a fixed mindset, which was demonstrated by Alexie in his essay, and by a personal experience of my own.
Success isn’t always so easy. Sometimes there are risks and factors that play along to allow for growth. However; personal development is a lifelong process. It’s a way for individuals to assess their skills and qualities, and consider their aims in life to set goals in order to maximise their potential. In order to receive the best outcome; there may need to be obstacles and challenges in the way to prevent an easy route to reach the top in success.
The motivation to be successful is very powerful. Some people will work twelve hours a day, seven days a week in order to feel successful. These people will work so
At some point in life most people have allowed at least one challenge to defeat them, if not more. Then there are those people who view these challenges as simply that, a challenge. This was the theme throughout Kyle Maynard’s novel, No Excuses, I learned that it is how we go about conquering these challenges that defines us as people. Throughout his novel he notes things will not always come easily; therefore, it is up to us to dig deep and conquer our goals. By finding alternate routes and adjusting your mindset, we are able to achieve any goal we set our minds to. Because it is not the obstacle that holds us back but it is ourselves that keeps us from fulfilling our greatest
Ralph Waldo Emerson, A well known author , wrote a quote stating " Unless you try to do something beyond what you have mastered , you will never grow ". This statement speaks true volume because you are not challenging yourself to improve the skill sets that you have and your are limiting yourself to what you can actually achieve. His quote should be used as an inspirational guideline to help encourage others to go beyond what they have already accomplished. Getting involved in certain activities or even trying something new can allow people to explore their potential in ways they would have never done prior. In order for someone to challenge themselves they should figure out new ways to improve their overall demeanor.
Most people throughout the world strive for success in each task they take on, and along with this, many reasons contribute to why they succeed or not. If a person does not succeed, they may automatically blame themselves because of their level of strength. Others may blame themselves for not having enough knowledge about what they are trying to succeed at. The real reason that people may not succeed, however, is their lack of determination and happiness throughout his/her journey that is demonstrated in the book Outliers: The Story of Success by Malcolm Gladwell.
Introduction- In order to succeed in life, you have to be open to trying new experiences, even if you know you might fail. If you do fail, you have to persevere and try again if you want to reach your goal. To become better than you are, you must be exposed to new ideas and moments of failure and doubt.
Within humanity people tend to motivate themselves by the effect it will have on themselves or the people that they genuinely care for. In the novel, The Road by Cormac McCarthy the man and boy
To continue on there are always two options, just give up or keep on pushing until the goal has been reached. The people that decide to just quit most likely have a fixed mindset, while the people that don’t give up have a growth mindset. Eduardo Briceno discusses that when obtaining a growth mindset, setbacks don’t take a toll on the person, they will continue to press on until the goal has been reached. Briceno’s point is that when you realize that anything is possible, then you bring yourself to new levels. Overall having a growth mindset allows people to complete any realistic goal that they
People need to think intelligently and set goals that are specific to their needs, making it possible to achieve their goals by making sure they are measurable and realistic and making it possible to build a support system around them; furthermore, they also need to set a deadline with time frames that can be met. Chanika Charles stated that “young people are at risk of being gobbled up by despair, overcome by conditions beyond their control” (A17). To avoid this, people need to start motivating themselves and getting excited about what they want to achieve, making sure their goals are relevant to their needs and being more perseverance when situations become difficult. When setting up their goals, they must ask that magic question: is this relevant to my lifestyle, furthermore, what will I do to achieve it?
He decided to use his writing skills to become a published writer and to motivate people to read. But, without relatives or money, he struggled for a while. Some time later, he found a job at McDaniels Market as a bagger. Shortly after, he found more lucrative work at Bethlehem Steel. After his boss at Bethlehem Steel saw his skills at a ten inch mil, he was promoted, and his wages
As a young boy, I’ve always felt like I needed to fit a standard. I needed to be serious and alchemically efficient. I needed to be a leader in my house when my father wasn’t around. I had to be willing to learn to be resilient. I realized that in order to develop, I must view situations from different perspectives.
Evver since I was a little boy, I have always been ambitious. But who wasn’t? Before writing this paper, I did a little research to help me better understand the different forms of ambition, and if it differs between younger and older groups of people. I sat and asked my little brother what he ...
People hear and read about people who go against the normal way of thinking; against the machine. People hear and read about people who dare to do what nobody else does. Motivation and hard work is what separates the ones who wanted to be great, and the ones who were. My personal goals are
“Something in human nature causes us to start slacking off at our moment of greatest accomplishment. As you become successful, you will need a great deal of self-discipline not to lose your sense of balance, humility and commitment.
