Would you want your son or daughter in the military at 18 years old or would you want them to be older? For the past 60 years 18 to 20 year olds have been in the military. In 2017, 17% of the military were 18 year olds. The Army has the highest number of 18 year olds. About half of the people in the army are between 18 and 20 years old. The Navy has the second most with 24%. I personally think that it is fine for 18 year olds to be in the military either a man or woman because they can mature faster, they can become more responsible, and they can learn skills to protect their family. Some people say 18 year olds wouldn’t be that responsible enough to use a weapon or not mature enough to pay attention to the sargent. I believe that 18 year olds should have a chance to do what they want.
When I’m 18 I’m going to be in the military so I definitely believe that 18 year olds

I think that they should be more mature but when they go in the military they teach you how to be mature and to listen better. I believe that anyone should have a chance in anything so i think that there would be more people in the military if anyone had a chance. I think that it’s a good idea and should be accepted to all parents. The top reason for you to be mature in the military is that if you listen and work hard then it would be fine for 18 year olds.
Many people say that 18 year olds lack of responsibility so if they were in the military they will teach them more responsibility. The responsibility they will have when they get out of the military will make them have better choices in their lifetime. I would say that the responsibility will help them with their job skills. I am certain that when your kid gets out of the military he will have a lot of job opportunities. I would say that 18 year olds need to find the responsibility that they hold and need to be responsible to be
The Duty of Americans to Their Country and Themselves (Reinstating the Draft for the American People) The American military draft was put into affect in 1940 when President Franklin D. Roosevelt signed the Selective Training and Service Act. The draft was a system that was an involuntary requirement of those who were of age and proper health. Young American men between the ages of eighteen and twenty five who were in good health and of a stable mental state were required by the government to register.
There are many requirements to be in the Army National Guard. The National Guard has physical, academic, and legal requirements that you must pass to join. You must first be in good physical shape and not have any major handicaps. The minimum age to join the National Guard is 17 years of age and a high school junior. If you are under the age of 18 you must have your parents consent. If you are not in high school you must have a high school diploma or GED. You must also score a high enough score on the ASVAB test. When you get your score you will be contacted by a recruiter to see what kind of job you want and can get by your score. You must also be a citizen of the United States and if you are an alien then you cannot get a job in the Army that requires a security clearance.
Being a military veteran can have both positive and negative effects on one’s ability to maintain a job and socialize with other people. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder is usually a problem with soldiers coming back from war, although after a veteran recovers from it, it creates great job opportunities. Business leaders recognize how useful a military veteran is in the work force. Veterans tend to show great responsibility, leadership, and team work which make them the ideal employee for many jobs.
Most or all of my reasons for joining the Marines are as follows. Ideal- The Marines Embody more of my personal views and ideals then the other branches of the armed services. Loyalty, I respect and love the idea of loyalty to a person or persons...or a cause. To be totally loyal to something without question but to also love and honor that something, that idea is something I long for and adore.
The age to join the army was 19, but many of the soliders how wanted
From the parent’s perspective, the military has much to offer for a child’s development. They should see this war for what it is: a chance to help and serve their
At a young age I knew I wanted to be just like my father (who is now a retired Chief in the United States Navy and has served 27 years.) My dad constantly tells me to this day make sure you take care of the ones you work with because their welfare is what really matters. Although you might have to yell at them every once in a while, you can never forget that they will always count on you for everything. You never want them to be scared of you where they cannot talk to you, but where they know the limit that they can talk to you about anything and when work needs to get done it will get done. Growing up my dad always took care of his sailors whether if hes throwing them a BBQ or having them come over for a home cooked meal. I understood very early that the military isnt about just ...

"A young man who does not have what it takes to perform military service is not likely to have what it takes to make a living." When joining the military you must perform your best to protect our country. Tons of men and women around the world fight for the country and make a career out of it. There are three major branches and many different jobs to go with each one. Each have many specific tasks. (Robbie Hughes Interview)
What if I could go back in time and sit down with my teenage self? The conversation would seem longwinded, and I would probably want to tell me ‘okay’, just so I would shut up. If I could shake that spaced out kid, with his head in the clouds and yell into his face, ‘Listen, it doesn’t have to be difficult! Things can be so much easier if you pay a little more attention.’ Looking back as I went through high school my priorities changed, from music and friends to wanting to join the military. The decision to join the military changed my life and molded the person that I am today. I had it all figured out back then. My plan, my approach, and my dreams were in front of me.
They might come back from battle and be emotionally unstable. We should have clinics or therapy to help them bounce back. Sometimes there may be an advancement in technology or culture and may be hard to adjust when they return. There should be classes and special training available to help them learn and adapt. In “The Child’s View of Working Parents” (Daniels 26), it says that children aren’t going to want to work long hours.
...datory military service can provide a way for people achieve a greater life. With the military young adult in need of a better environment would become improved in what ever those people were going to do in life. This will give people job opportunities and more dedication to life. A mandatory military service for all people between the ages of 18 and 24 would only bring good to society.
Most people have, at one point or another, considered what they were going to do with their lives. Whether a person would like to become an activist, an artisan or a business professional, the military has something for everyone. Finding a path in life is often filled with uncertainty and procrastination. The United States military is a path in itself, should one wish to retire from it; however, should a person wish to make their own path, there are benefits for that as well that can remove all doubt and curb procrastination. Due to these many benefits, I believe that it should be mandatory for all adults to enlist for a minimum of twenty-four months.
I know people who joined the military to make the United States a safer place to live. Many of my friends have parents who willingly joined the military. These people are very passionate on what they do and do it for a great cause. These parents want to make a country safe for their family so they work very hard to make the country safer. If a person was forced they would just want to go back home instead of making home a safe
