Who was to blame for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet? Was it the friar, parents, or maybe fate? William Shakespeare wrote the play Romeo and Juliet, which are the main characters of the play. Both lived in Verona, but their families hated each other, which were the Montagues and the Capulets. Both Romeo and Juliet from the 2 different houses fell in love with each other but tragically died because they were never meant to be. But who caused their death? The person responsible is William Shakespeare because he is the author of the play and he wrote it, second he made his characters hot-headed and impulsive, and lastly, he made the character's decisions be led by emotions, not logical thinking. Bonvolio in Act 3 Scene 1 line 140 “Romeo, away, begone! The citizens are up and Tybalt slain.”Tybalt's death could have been avoided entirely if Romeo and Benevolio had left Tybalt alone; if Shakespeare had written the scene that way, even Mercutio's death could have been avoided if he never made Tybalt so hot headed. Practically all of the characters deaths could have been avoided if Shakespeare didn't kill all of them off and make them so hot headed and not make them think logoacally. My second reason is caused by the characters being hotheaded and impulsive. A piece of evidence that proves this reason is in Act 1 scene 1 lines 63-64 when Tybslt says “what, drawn and talk of peace? I hate the word, as I hate hell, all montagues, and thee.” This piece of evidence shows shakepsear and his characters being written as hot heads, this could lead the plot and story to have problems later in the play, which could have been avoided if he never wrote his characters this …show more content…

This decision will also cause problems later in the play, eventually leading the downfall of the starcrossed lovers. which is bad writing on shakesprar's part for making the characters so impulsive. My final reason that shakesprar was the cause of romeo and juliet's death was because he wrote his characters with their decisions being made by emotions, not logic. In act 3 scene 5 lines 11-17 Romeo says must be gone and live, or stay dead.. Let me be taken, let me put to death. ”Romeo is being lead by love and risking his life, If Shakespeare had written their love being safer than the two characters risking their lives for each other, another point is that they are both teenagers who are more likely to make stupid decisions, which was foolish of Shakespeare to do because the death could have been prevented if he made those characters
