Throughout the Elizabethan Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet there have been key people responsible for the two young lovers' deaths. The main reasons for the death of these two fine individuals may be found on the consciences of the people surrounding them both. It may also be the feud. between their families, and the well-meaning but misguided assistance of others?
Before all of this may by judged, we must think if this was nothing but fate that brought these two lustful teens to their deaths.Before the facts may be stated, I must first introduce the main people that may have had a powerful effect on Romeo or Juliet. The friends of Romeo, Merutio and Benvolio, are slightly to blame. Benvolio, the peace maker, may have tried to help but most likely he wasn't to blame. Mercutio, the mean prankster, was largely responsible for the death of himself and Tybalt. Mercutio was the main reason for Romeo's anger toward Tybalt.
The main person responsible for Romeo's death was most likely Friar Lewernce. He was the person that took these too newly met, lustful children into their marriage. Since the two children were married so soon and at such a young age, this made them very unable to make their own important decisions. This can be proved about Romeo when he was banished he bellowed like a little baby. The nurse had to make young Romeo act like a man just to think about Juliet instead of just himself. The main reason for the Friar's decision to make the two be married is because this may help their families stop fighting.
In the end this was proven to be indispensably the motivation for the two kids to kill themselves.Numerous individuals were accountable for the death of Juliet. The main people that were responsible for this happening were the nurse and lady Capulet. The nurse, being a blabbermouth out spoken person, was most responsible for her death. She never acknowledged that maybe Juliet wasn't ready for this immense of a step in her life. The nurse never took any responsibility for her deadly actions for Juliet. In Act two-Scene four the nurse warns Romeo to be true to Juliet.
Some characters who are more commonly blamed are Romeo and Juliet themselves. With their headstrong personalities, and love, which seemed so sure, they had in fact condemned themselves. Romeo was the first to promote the relationship at the Capulet party. It was a case of 'love-at-first-sight' for him, so he felt obligated to seek Juliet at her balcony, and charm the engagement into existence. However the reality was that the relationship was condemned before it had even began due to the parent's hatred for one another. Romeo knew the two families didn't get on, so he also should have also known that the relationship was ill fated. Yet he still persisted in promoting the relationship. Surely he could have controlled his urges and stayed in the bushes in front of Juliet's balcony on the night of the Capulet party. On the other hand love is often considered an impulsive thing, and Romeo being an impulsive person only made the matter worse. An example of Romeo's impulsive behavior was when he chased Tybalt after Tybalt killed Mercutio, which resulted in Tibet's death. Romeo was horrified with what he had done, and expressed that he felt very irresponsible by crying out;
Tybalt caused this death by getting mad and taking revenge on Romeo. When he took revenge on Romeo, it meant he also, displayed immaturity to his faithful cousin, Juliet. Tybalt and Juliet grew up together. They had a close relationship. Tybalt took that away from them. The fact of the matter is, you shouldn’t be messing with love and happiness. Both Romeo and Juliet had that, and it was not to be punctured. Tybalt punctured
As these words echoed through the hall of the Globe theatre little did William Shakespeare know that this tragedy, Romeo and Juliet, would be examined and admired by playwrights for decades to come. So does fate play a major part in this tragedy? Or does their blood stain the garments of civil hands? Could it have been the loyal Mercutio, who swore on both their houses?? Tybalt the hated enemy? or was it Friar Lawrence who tried to end the fighting between households. Or does the blame go on the ancestors who began it. Many would agree that the death of these lovers cannot be blamed on anyone but themselves. This question cannot be answered without looking deeply into each characters involvement in the tragedy.
One of the people I think is responsible for Romeo and Juliet’s death is Mercutio. Mercutio had evoked a fight with his enemy Tybalt.During the fight, Mercutio was killed by Tybalt and Mercutio put a curse on both of their families.
Shakespeare's play of “Romeo and Juliet” is well known, and leaves the audience asking: Who is to blame for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet? Most of the play’s characters closely related to Romeo and Juliet carry some responsibility, but there are three characters or groups who had the greatest influence on the story’s outcome. Friar Laurence could be blamed for marrying them and keeping it secret. Juliet’s nurse encouraged Romeo’s pursuit of Juliet, even helping Juliet sneak out to marry. Last and most deserving of blame, however, are the parents, Lord and Lady Capulet and Lord and Lady Montague. If not for the family feud and hatred, Romeo and Juliet would’ve lived, not tasting the bittersweetness of death.
Because of the time this play was written, people would have strongly believed in bad luck and fate, but the characters were equally to blame. It was just a question of which one is to blame the most for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet. First of all, Romeo could be most to blame for the deaths of himself and Juliet, he asked Juliet to marry him when he hardly knew her. Romeo declared his love for her and went to friar Lawrence and asked the friar if he would marry them, Romeo says "Then plainly know my hearts dear love is set, on the fair daughter of rich Capulet, by holy marriage, when, where and how, we met, we woo'd and make exchange of vow. " If Romeo had restrained himself from killing Tybalt, or waited a day before killing himself after hearing about Juliet's death, it might have ended happily, and if Romeo didn't have such deep feelings, his love with Juliet wouldn't have existed in the first place.
There are many forces in the tragic play of Romeo and Juliet that are keeping the two young, passionate lovers apart, all emanating from one main reason. In this essay I will discuss these as well as how love, in the end, may have been the cause that led to the tragic deaths of Romeo and Juliet. Their strong attraction to each other, which some call fate, determines where their forbidden love will take them.
The Deaths of Romeo and Juliet Was it just one person’s fault, or a mixture? In this essay, I will include many different reasons as to why Romeo and Juliet die. I will explain in detail each point and put forward my own opinions. I will use quotes to back up each point and explain why the historical context is relevant.
The friar is responsible for marrying Romeo and Juliet among assisting Juliet in faking her death. Lord Capulet is responsible for forcing Juliet to marry Paris, and threatening her if she didn’t. Finally, the nurse is responsible for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet, since she encouraged Juliet to get married and waited too long to stop her and convince her to just marry Paris. All three of these characters were responsible for Romeo and Juliet’s deaths because if one had not done their part, Romeo and Juliet might have had a much happier
Romeo and Juliet by Shakespeare is a romance book about two teenagers who fall in love but their love is impossible. They belong to two different families. But the real question is: Why are Romeo and Juliet dead, and who is responsible? Who is to blame for Romeo and Juliet”s suicide? This paper will tell you why Juliet’s parents, Friar Lawrence, and Fate all share responsibility for Romeo and Juliet’s deaths.
Being one of the most debated texts in history, Shakespeare’s ‘Romeo and Juliet’, has the power and ability to divide audiences. Throughout the play, it is seen that Shakespeare has left the audience to contemplate the underlying cause of the Romeo and Juliet tragedy. Shakespeare begins by showing the reckless actions and choices of the lovers, illustrating one of the main contributing factors to their deaths. Friar Lawrence plays a large role in the deaths of the lovers as he is the main instigator, greatly contributing to the deaths. Also, demonstrated through the play is that the lover’s destiny is written in the stars. Without
Another reason Juliet is to blame for their death is shown when she says “O, think’st thou we shall ever meet again?”, after Romeo’s banishment showing that she just let him go instead of being with him even after foreshadowing her and his death. It can be argued that Benvolio may have influenced the deaths. In Act 3, Scene 1 Romeo commands Benvolio saying “Draw, Benvolio, beat down their weapons,” yet Benvolio fails to join in which leads to the death of Mercutio, Romeo killing Tybalt, and eventually, the death of Romeo and Juliet. It may also be argued that it was Friar John’s fault that they died. In Act 5, Scene 2, Friar John says “I could not send it,” talking about the letter informing Romeo about the plan to fake Juliet’s death, which led Romeo to think she was dead and kill himself and her waking up and killing herself.
Who is responsible for killing Romeo and Juliet? The death of these two people was a tragedy, but might not have been entirely their fault. There are many people in this drama that could be to blame for this terrible misunderstanding. Romeo and Juliet’s stars were crossed from the beginning so it may very well be the very stars fault for being crossed. In my opinion though, the father of Juliet might have done a few things to drive his daughter and his son-in-law to their untimely deaths.
In William Shakespeare's The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet two young lovers lost their lives when hate and love collided. From the Montagues came Romeo and from the Capulets was Juliet. The two families were feuding and Romeo and Juliet could not stand being without each other. They both killed themselves because they thought life was not worth living without the other. Though there are many who can be blamed for this tragic ending, there are three that are the most responsible. Mercutio, The Nurse, and Friar Laurence are the three that deserve the most blame.
While Tybalt is to be held accountable, Romeo’s and Juliet’s tragic flaw, impulsivity, contributes greatly to their death. It was understood among everyone that their relationship was moving too hastily. Within seconds of meeting, the two had already
