Leading a drunk friend into the depths of a catacomb only to chain them up and brick up the entrance of the room for them to never be found. In the story Cast of Amontillado Montresor was the one who committed the action on his "Friend". The story started out with the two, Montresor and Fortuano's attending a carnival. Montresor is the one who is story teller and in the story he speaks shortly about Fortuano and how he bought a cask of alcohol that he want's Fortuano's to test the quality of.

Montresor is the narrator as I previously said so he states the true intentions of being at the carnival. Those intentions being him enacting divine revenge on Fortuano for insulting him. Montresor wanted revenge for Fortuano's actions and is ready to commit premeditated murder basically. As they left the carnival and went to the catacombs, Montresor got Fortuano drunk so he wouldn't question why they were going so deep into the catacombs where the alcohol wasn't even stored. Fortuanos the entire time was being bubbly and happy as can be and respectable but Montresor carried out his intentions and led Fortuano to the end of a tunnel and chain him up. …show more content…

This action occurred because Fortuano apparently made Montressor suffer a "thousand insults" which seems like a lie as Fortuano throughout the story has been shown to be a kind and sincere person. All of this could have been avoided if Montressor hadn't been so heart set on seeking revenge because he was apparently "insulted" so he took it upon himself to ruin a friendship and commit
