A hero is a person that you look up to and aspire to be. Since I am the youngest child, I have had many role models and people I look up to in my life. My Great Aunt, Bonnie was one of my muses and heroes. In 2013 she was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.
Through all adversities and hardships she persevered and finds the true silver linings in life. Auntie Bonnie never gave up and continued being the bubble lively person she was. She constantly had a wide cheeky smile on her face that lit up everyone’s life. I often have trouble focusing on the positives in life, yet any time I was with her she helped me realize that the glass is always half full. She has instilled a positive outlook in me, but I still aspire to be as oftenly elated as her. This animated personality permeated through her clothing as well, she always had a quirky look. She loved cheetah print and a mix of vibrant colors and shapes.
Unfortunately as all happy things in life come to a close she passed away last year. I will always remember hearing the awful news of her death. My dad stayed over night at her condo while she was on hospice. When …show more content…

Her passing has shown the true hero that she is. She has empowered me to become the best friend, sister, and daughter I could possibly be. I had the privilege to write her eulogy on the nieces and nephews behalf. I wrote about her love for all of her nieces and nephews and how she always sat at the kids end of the table! I will never forget standing on that podium in front of all her closest friends and family reminding them of the beautiful life she lead. Her greatest love, which morphed into her career was painting and art, and I too have a passion for art. Therefore, I felt a special draw to her as if she was my mother as well.
