It has been changed in many various ways, such as the way it is written, the way it is spoken, and how it sounds when verbalized. Language is one of those things that will continue to change and it will grow also, because of the new ideas that evolve.
One may be able to make predictions of what the English language will evolve to within the next 500 years. With everyone being implanted with a chip, all we have to do is think a thought about someone and that person will have instant connection with what is going on in our heads. That is kind of frightening to think about, because not everyone will think good thoughts all the time. With this happening it could also break up friendships and relationships, because of the communication issues.
There are numerous ideas of what the languege will become. Some are more logical than others, but they are all valid in the pool of possibilities.
