What is it about people who are so smart and who often attract so many eccentricities? It doesn't take long looking through the pages of history before you find certain people who, at least in the intelligence department, are so peddle to the metal? In fact, for being intelligent, some people have their peddle through the floor. What follows is a list of just a few people who are credited with being so intelligent, so over-revved with their neurological engines, that their brains ended up flying to the roadside, and just kept going.

Pythagoras, Greek Mathematician (575-500 B.C.)

When you learned about the Pythagorean theorem in school you were learning not only one of the pillars of trigonometry, you also happen to have been learning about the cornerstone of the work of one of the greatest oddballs in history. Pythagoras was one of the first to theorize that nearly all natural phenomenon could be explained mathematically--which accounts, at least to a large degree for physics--and even served as inspiration for much of the work that Plato theorized of modern democracy, as well as a lot of things that he never had time to actually invent.
