When you go to the movies, it’s supposed to be a time where you can relax with your friends and family, but when you feel like eating, you can’t get that popcorn you wanted because you don’t have the money to get it! Though, a solution to this problem is to beat around the bush and to sneak your own food into the theaters, instead of having to head to the concession stand to empty your wallet out. Not only does it help you save money, but it’s healthier, and the food you eat can be what you personally enjoy, like a sandwich or some candy.

To begin with, the food sold at the movie theaters are expensive. This brings discouragement to buy foods from the movies. Due to the prices of the food sold at concessions stands, nearly 60% of people sneak food into the theaters! Secondly, buying a ticket for each person is already around $10 - $13. Then, when you start feeling hungry, and you have to buy food at the concession stand, it costs more just to eat at the movies than to even enjoy watching the movie without food at all! In the article, “Is it OK to Sneak Food Into the Movies,” theater owner Jon Goldstein claims, “‘If we can’t keep majority of that ticket price, there’s only one way that we can pay for everything… and that’s at the concession stand.’” Though, they are wrong because if we buy the movie theater’s food because most people can’t afford the food sold at the concession stands. This was because the popcorn sold at the concession stands only costs nearly $8 at the AMC theaters, whereas there is a store just a few blocks away that sells the same sized popcorn for only $3-4 and had less calories and fat, but still tastes as if it was bought from the concession stands at the movie
