When you go to the movies, it’s supposed to be a time where you can relax with your friends and family, but when you feel like eating, you can’t get that popcorn you wanted because you don’t have the money to get it! Though, a solution to this problem is to beat around the bush and to sneak your own food into the theaters, instead of having to head to the concession stand to empty your wallet out. Not only does it help you save money, but it’s healthier, and the food you eat can be what you personally enjoy, like a sandwich or some candy.
To begin with, the food sold at the movie theaters are expensive. This brings discouragement to buy foods from the movies. In the article, “Is it OK to Sneak Food Into the Movies,” theater owner Jon Goldstein claims, “‘If we can’t keep majority of that ticket price, there’s only one way that we can pay for everything… and that’s at the concession stand.’” Though, they are wrong because if we buy the movie theater’s food because most people can’t afford the food sold at the concession stands. This was because the popcorn sold at the concession stands only costs nearly $8 at the AMC theaters, whereas there is a store just a few blocks away that sells the same sized popcorn for only $3-4 and had less calories and fat, but still tastes as if it was bought from the concession stands at the movie

My favorite candy is Milk Duds, but they can cost almost seven dollars a package! You can buy them several dollars cheaper, or as low as fifty cents at a corner store nearby. This brings us into my first reason why I think outside food should be allowed, it’s cheaper. You already pay an arm and a leg for a movie ticket, but if you want something to eat while watching the film, then you have to pay an unreasonable price to get just a small popcorn or candy. Recent studies have shown that the average cost people spend on a ticket, snack, and small drink is anywhere from around twenty dollars for a single person, and around fifty dollars for at least three. This is ridiculous, just imagine, if you went to a showing every night, you’d be spending almost two hundred dollars! Think of all the better ways you could use that money, to
Sidewalks are different shapes and sizes, people tend to make their own decisions to which way they would want to go. Going through the motions on a sidewalk is similar as going through the motions of life. There are many turns that could get you to your final destination and turns that can also get you into places you would not feel so comfortable being. Staying on the right path and trying to get to where you need to go isn’t so hard but when you have other sidewalks with nice grass and big beautiful street lights that can be a very big distraction to the eye and that could cause problems in your life. Nice sidewalks sometimes don't always tend to continue a nice path so they can be very believing at first but when you make it to the end
Due to the fact that they want a cheap meal that will fill them up, they will go with the fast food restaurant. The family says not only are the healthy foods more expensive, but they don’t fill them or their kids up. The family struggles on income and finds that fast food is the cheapest way to feed their family. Fast food affects your energy levels, liver, heart, and can lead to diabetes. These fast food restaurants make it incredibly easy for this family to get food and not spend a great amount of money. David Zinczenko, author of the article “Don’t Blame The Eater” heavily contends that fast-food chains are the leading problem of our nation’s childhood obesity population rise. Blaming these restaurants for failing to inform consumers of the nutritional facts and calories on the food items, as they are on grocery items. Falsely, there are in fact labels on food such as Mcdonalds wraps they just might be hard for consumers to see. He claims “But where, exactly, are consumers--particularly teenagers-- supposed to find alternatives?”. When in actuality, there are many healthier alternatives than just your local Mcdonalds or Taco Bell. For example, it is very convenient to drive (just as you would to your local Mcdonalds) to a nearby Subway and create a sub full of nutritional helpings. Even more so, it is also beneficial to walk into your local grocery store or Wal-mart and purchase a pre-made
So is going through the drive thru of your favorite fast restaurant really cheaper than making a meal at home for your family? In today’s time it has become more relevant to get what is more convenient and cheapest regarding to food. People are less concerned with the health benefits, whether that means going by McDonalds for dinner than making a home cooked meal or eating junk food than healthy alternative snack. People are doing what seems to be the most convenient and inexpensive route, but the problem is that Americans lack knowledge regarding junk food and real food which is interfering with their health. High amounts of processed foods are being consumed by Americans because they are tight budgeted
Movie-theatre popcorn is mainly known as one of the World’s biggest rip-offs, with a selling price of eight times what it costs to make. It’s been predicted that movie theatres make an 87% revenue at the concessions stand on overpriced candy, hotdogs, soda nachos and, well of course, popcorn.

Have you ever wondered how some athletes have gotten so good at a certain sport? Have you ever thought about what they did in order for them to get this good? For some the answer is simple; workout and train. But for others the answer is different; the use of performance enhancing drugs such as steroids. There are some people that argue that steroids should be legalized and allowed in professional sports. Other people argue that steroids should not be allowed. Today I am going to state my opinion and justify my reason. Fast food chains use value pricing. This type of pricing is how much the customer thinks an item on the menu is worth. Basically what this means is customers see price as a primary indicator of a product’s value. Value pricing happens when a company increases a product’s benefits while either maintaining or decreasing the price. A great example of value pricing in McDonald’s is the ability to “super-size” drinks and fries. The value of the drink or fries is increased because a customer can get substantially more of the item for a fraction more of the
Although the producers and editors of Bachelor in Paradise have attempted to create a sense of authentic realism for their viewers, their work is in abject conflict with Walter Benjamin’s conception of authenticity. Authenticity to Benjamin, is to preserve the ‘original’ from any technical reproduction. It should be uncontrolled in order to represent the true aura of the work. Regarding Bachelor in Paradise, the original would be represented as unedited footage. However, due to the structure of reality television - storylines need to be interesting and easy to follow - the footage is edited and the contestants are heavily produced. It seems as though Bachelor in Paradise echoes Benjamin’s prediction that film necessitates: “ the desire of contemporary
