Naripokkho is an organization that developed their anti-acid violence campaign between the years of 1995 and 2003. It is also a membership based women’s advocacy organization led by professionals. Any reason for the acid violence is not any reason to be done. However, the men were throwing the acid on these females because they didn’t want to love the men back or unmet dowry needs. I find it mind-blowing that this was going on as long as it has over petty reasons, leaving these women mentally, spiritually, emotionally, and physically scarred for life. Money rules everything around us, so when Naripokkho stuck out their necks for help in funding, it had to be expected that organizations such as UNICEF were going to change to into their liking. I don’t agree with what UNICEF, but speaking in business terms, they were not going to invest their money blind-eyed. So it is almost a win-lose for Naripokkho, they get the funding to further the organization, but they have these westerns meddling into their affairs as well. …show more content…
Nonetheless, are they really helping? It is true that they are funding the organization to better help the victims, but that is all they are doing. The ASF (Acid Survivor Foundation) main goal was to “To provide ongoing assistance in the treatment, rehabilitation and reintegration into society of survivors of acid violence by identifying and improving existing services and to also work to prevent further acid throwing attacks” (pg54). In my opinion, I believe that they are executing their objective with the help of CIDA and
The high rate of violent deaths in women has led to the international community; through different ways and means to require the authorities to take preventive and corrective measures about it.
Due in part to its tumultuous past, sub-Saharan Africa is a region of the world that is stricken with war, famine, and poverty. Many people in richer parts of the world, including North America and Europe, view helping the people who inhabit this part of the world as their duty and obligation. Both non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and governmental organizations such as the United Nations (UN) alike send humanitarian aid to sub-Saharan Africa. While this aid helps countless individuals and their families, humanitarian aid in sub-Saharan Africa fuels further conflict and enables violent groups, undermining the goals of the aid itself.
Very few are lucky enough to shake free of this vicious clutch. On October 25, 2013, three women (69-year-old Malaysian woman, a 57-year-old Irish woman, and the 30-year-old British woman.) from were about to escape 73-year-old Aravindan Balakrishnan and his 67-year-old wife Chanda’s wrath after 30 years. They were described as “deeply traumatized” after they suffered through the ordeal of abuse and isolation. What little freedoms they had led one of the victims to watch a movie on forced violence, which gave out the number of non-profit Freedom Charity, an organization that dedicated themselves to contacting the police after gaining the women’s trust. Later details of the story report that the three women were apart of a left wing...
Gender-based violence is made possible by the ideology of sexism in Indian traditional culture which argues that women are worth less than men in the sense of having less power, status, privilege, and access to resources that is more prevalent in middle class and low caste families.
Providing advocacy and support to survivors and their allies through a coordinated community response effort” (Think S.A.F.E).

Considering its competitive advantages and reflecting on the lessons learnt, it is recommended that UNICEF should:
...lance of trade and consistent revenue. The UN can help these countries build their economies if they can improve their trade. The UN can do all of this by implementing a single policy. The policy that will have to be passed is a distribution policy. If this policy is passed, the money generated from trade could be used in projects for the future and help these countries develop as a whole. This distribution policy will take time to pass due to other actors, but these actors are not a big issue. This distribution policy benefits the economies of developing countries such as Somalia. It helps the countries develop a balance of trade and generate revenue. Food will become more available to the Somalia people, and less people will be affected. Everyone in Somalia will have the opportunity to provide food for themselves and others. The hunger in Somalia will cease.
The non-charitable organisations objective embedded within its mission statement is to work with all its partners towards the attainment of the sustainable human development goals adopted by the world community and the realisation of the vision of peace and social progress enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations. UNICEF was created with the purpose of working with others to overcome the obstacles that poverty, violence, disease and discrimination place in a child’s path, thus advancing the cause of humanity.

...s, in turn has influenced international relations. This transition has occurred alongside heightened means of communication. Communication as we have seen has been a fundamental aspect in creating these organizations and networks. Likewise, as all of this is in relation to realism, we begin to see a trend emerging. Times have changed, communication has evolved and participation has increased. The example of the Landmine ban convention, The Women’s Movement, and impact of other successful NGOs result in change that have most definitely has had a strong impact in the unquestioned realism of international relations. Considering the above, one conclusion remains: The fact that realism cannot account for the aforementioned changes and developments in regards to NGOs goes to show how realism may lack theoretical framework to fully assess today’s international politics.
I have learned that the role of non-governmental organizations is much needed for developing states. Non-governmental organizations supposedly have a big role to play in advancement as they usually provide services and utilities that help bolster families in developing nations. For example, when one volunteers with a non-governmental organization, as emphasized in the game, they have the opportunity to get more education, develop more skills needed for a decent career and the local community benefits with utilities such as soccer field for kids, local library and local community
Having your face disfigured and burned in a matter of seconds is not what any woman has in mind as a consequence when they refuse to go on a date with a man. Sadly, this form of violence or “Acid Throwing” is happening in the gender-stratified or “Caste” system countries. The intent of this essay is to inform the reader what acid throwing is; how and why it happens and provide several facts about this crime. Hopefully, one of these organizations will assist these women who have been victimized, and hopefully they can lead a normal life.
At this stage it is important to highlight that the South Asian community is characterized by vast diversity and complex nature. The members of the group are heterogeneous with respect to their cultural norms and religious inclinations (Khan, 2000). The sheer rapid growth in the size of this community calls for researchers and practitioners to explore and develop a better understanding of how these women folk face and experience violence in the context of being a sub-group in
In conclusion, violence against women is a difficult problem to solve. This is not always under control to be able to fix at all. But people will always have the most reasonable resolutions. I hope that this issue will soon be resolved smoothly so that all of the women will no longer have to suffer from those pains.
