What grade do I deserve? That is a hard question to ask from the point of view of the student, without being bias. But if I were to look back at the work I’ve done in graphics so far, I believe my grade should be a 90. Some reasons why I deserve a 90 in this class is because of the effort I put in a project, my attitude towards it, and being interested in my work. I think all of these traits show in most of my projects like the pin design and shirt design. First, the effort one puts into their work is a big deal. If someone like a teacher, or even an employer, gave me a small project to work on, I would put in the effort to make it as good as possible. For example, with my shirt design I didn’t just put in a couple of pictures together and …show more content…
But most of the time I try to make it a good attitude, because I believe it not only affects me but the people around me as well. So having good attitude not only towards your work but your classmates and teachers too. It gives off good vibes, wich makes for a better workplace and better work. Finally, showing interest towards what I’m doing really affects the amount of effort I put into it. Everybody choose to be here in graphics. So interest should not only extend to graphics but all my other classes too. So, even if I’m not very interested in a topic like math, I am still interested in succeeding, so I would still try my best at it. I love what I do in graphics, it’s a class of my interest, which also makes me a good listener when directions are given out. Showing interest also gives out a good impression letting others know I’m here to work. Some of my flaws? I have many I’m not afraid to admit. But one of my most major flaws really affect my work. That weakness is procrastinating. Most of the time when I’m given work, especially any type of assay (like this one) it’s unbelievably hard for me to focus on doing it. So, I tend to leave it for last minute causing it to not come out as good as it could have. It’s not uncommon, we’ve all done it. It’s just something I’m most guilty of and I think it will start hurting my grades. It’s a bad habit that I have to work on fixing. With time and effort I should
It can be a tedious task for a person to find another who share the same interests. That is why it is important to understand and respect other’s interests. Even if a certain topic doesn’t intrigue you, it may be a large part of someone else’s life. Having a broad knowledge on many different topics allows you to expand your connections with others and have intelligent conversations, increase your knowledge and theirs. In liberal art colleges, this is the message they try to embed in their students. It’s perfectly acceptable to have you passion, but it’s also important to be well
I believe that everyone has their own strength and weaknesses, but not everyone is able to figure out their strengths and weaknesses correctly. Knowing our own strengths and weaknesses is essential because it can help to achieve success in anything we choose to do. For me, my weakness is the time management, communication skills and weak in preparing effective Curriculum Vitae (CV) Below will be further explaining all my personal weaknesses and the ways to overcome it.
A positive attitude is, after all, absolutely necessary to achieve success since it influences the outcome of a task more than any other factor (Jacobs 2016). Jane Satrom definitely fits the bill when it comes to having a positive attitude. During her first year as a teacher, Mrs. Satrom recounts having two students who tested her patience and good heart. The two African-American students “accused [her] of being racist” and were constantly going to any possible extent to “get [her] off topic so they [did not] have to work” (J. Satrom, personal communication, September 27, 2016). This was barely the beginning of Mrs. Satrom’s career and she was already facing difficult situations on the job. However, although she “drove home, crying, many a day, over those two” she kept her positive attitude and moved on. This is a prime example of the correct way for someone to handle an obstacle they
I used to have a very simple issue but never noticed until a teacher pointed it out. I was always focused in handing in my assignments on time and believed by doing so I was definitely going to be successful and be getting a good mark on it but most of the time I was disappointed in not getting the mark I wanted and never understood why I got the mark I did. One day I asked my teacher and she told me that I’m always in a hurry to hand in my assignments on time that I forget to take a second look or add more details and make silly mistakes that affect the
First reason why I should obtain a 87 as a grade for Graphics Design class is because, I’m a inflexible worker, always make sure that my work is done flawlessly. Never rushed on a project or an assignment because, It would look unacceptable and unsightly. Honestly, one of my projects that was done in the past, was not that vast. But I went back into it on Photoshop, took my time on it, put detail and effort into it and achieved my goal to make it look prodigious.
Procrastination is used mentally to comfort us and give us refuge from our deep inner fears. While it is often perceived as a character defect the fact is that it is really used to defend our self-worth and independence. As the author states “Generally we re taught that procrastination is the problem, rather than a symptom of other problems. This diagnosis, instead of directing your efforts toward ending the cycle of pressure, fear, and procrastination, unfortunately makes matter worse by blaming you for choosing such an awful habit.” The first step to overcoming procrastination is to stop criticizing yourself and to accept that you are in fact imperfect and human. Procrastination is actually rewarding as it helps us relieve some of our everyday stresses, the problem is we can become addicted to these rewards by learning to use it in three ways: as an indirect way of resisting pressure from authorities, as a way of lessening fear of failure by providing an excuse for a disappointing, less-than-perfect performance, ...
What are some of the causes of procrastination? In my exploration I've discovered more than a few, but there are two that stick out as major contributors to procrastination: perfectionism and impulsivity.
I could give you a text book resume style answer were I reverse psychology you with a weakness that is really a strength, like I’m too passionate about my work, or I’m a perfectionist but I live in the real world where people make real mistakes. On a side note, doing that would be like Luke (student) attempting to Jedi(teacher) mind trick Yoda; a nice Star Wars references to lighten the room. I have and will continue to make mistakes. I’m a procrastinator. I always get things done but never leave too many minutes unaccounted for. I like to see the good in people, which I have learned can sometimes make you naïve. I once took 3 kids to the YMCA at work and they stole $200 out of the bathroom and I did not for a second think they had anything to do with it, which they absolutely did. That can happen sometimes when you’re an optimist who doesn’t want to believe that people are capable of doing bad things. I will however, be the first to admit my mistakes and come up with a course of action to correct them. I always learn from my mistakes and try to never make the same mistake twice. I have always found that respect and laughter make the best work place, for employees and clients and that education and team work help to build strong and empowered employees. I will always stick up for what I believe is right and always speak up when I feel that something is wrong. So yes I could have given you a generic answer that 100 other people
There are many obstacles that I may encounter that are both internal and external. A huge potential barrier between me and my meaningful and significant life is my internal struggle with time management. Procrastination is something I am very good at. I know it's nothing to brag about but sometimes I feel like I just can't help it. Even when I actually am focu...
When it comes to school, I have always been an “A” only student. I am slightly obsessed with my grades, and I have never had a “B” in my life. Originally, this pressure was put on by my parents, but now I am self-driven and I do not allow myself to have anything lower than an “A-”. Achieving no lower than an “A-” consists of lots of hard work and time management. Unlike many other students, I have always been one to complete my homework as soon as possible. Other students procrastinate and either don’t do their homework until late at night, or even the day
Procrastination is hard for me, mainly because I have a bad habit of waiting to do an assignment closer
The aspect which could be counted as my weakness is communication. Over the last year, there has been an improvement after working in my family’s café thus improving these skills and will continue

I’m what most people might call lazy, lethargic, and a procrastinator. How did it start? The first specific instance that I can remember was in 5th grade math class. I didn’t do my math. My mentality was that school consumed more then half of my waking hours and I wasn’t going to let it take anymore then that. So my assignments were partially completed, from the day before, and handed in unfinished. I knew that my parents and teachers would raise hell itself when I did this but my mind wouldn’t waiver on this. Since I had been able to get through all of grade school without homework why should I have any now? Great reasoning for a 5th grader, but this thinking contained a few flaws.
