The Lion King movie has a meaning for me. We all know this movie very well. This movie was released in 1994 and was born in 1995. I selected it because this was one the first movies that I watched in my childhood. My mother told me that she remembers using a video cassette recorder or VCR to play the movie recorded in those old cassettes. This movie brings me many memories of my childhood. I can remember me watching this movie in my room. The characters of this movie were my unreal friends of my childhood because I learned a lot from every of them. I felt special connections with these characters. From the young Simba I learned that even in the hardest moments in our life we should know who we are and what things are part of us. I learned from Timon and Pumbaa the loyalty to our family and friends. Mufasa brings back memories of my father because Mufasa is kind, generous, wise, very responsible and a little bit stern just like my father. When I was child, I couldn't relate the situations in this movie to situations in real life. Now, I can …show more content…
relate them to real situations in my life.
The Lion King deals with the death of a parent, betrayal, guilt, ambition, redemption, running away, and friendship. I noticed how an adult can influence in a child’s life to help them to find their true identity. An example of adult influence is I learned from this movie the meaning of the Circle of Life that everyone has a path to follow and we don't know where it leads, but we have a destiny and a purpose in life. Also, The Circle of Life refers to the fact that plants and animals are born, mature, procreate and then die, unless they are killed early in the circle. Nietzsche used Apollo and Dionysius archetypes to explain the contrast between Apollo’s order, clarity, moderation, control, analysis, ruled-oriented and harmony, and Dionysus’s chaos, drunkenness, passion, imagination, frenzy, feeling, faith and excess, lack of
discipline and pleasure. I divide them as the light side and dark side, but they are complementary sides. Mufasa, the king of the Pride Lands represents Apollo. He seeks law, order and justice for his kingdom and put his kingdom’s interests above his own taking responsibilities and control. He commands respect for every animal, even his enemies, the hyenas showing the rules and the order. His rule over the lands results in a period of prosperity reflecting harmony and clarity. Also, he left a deep imprint on his son Simba, who learned that every animal must be respected to maintain the balance in the kingdom. Mufasa is rational and wise because he knows when interference is needed. Scar, manipulative Mufasa’s brother represents Dionysus. He seeks chaos and the disruption of order. He doesn't care about endangering his brother’s life in order to get his objectives, steal the throne. He feels very sensitive to his brother’s mention because he knows that he knows that he can never be the king that Mufasa was. Scar gained loyalty of Zira and her pride of lionesses, even after his death. Both sides, Apollonian(Mufasa) and Dionysius(Scar) is facing like ying-yan. Scar killed Mufasa, but still he needed help from the Mufasa’s pack to hunt and bring food. This means that he needs the others lions of the kingdom. They are destined to participate in this Apollonian/Dioynisian duality until Simba comes back. This is full circle. The Apollonian side(now Simba after his father death) will battle the chaos. I understand that both sides have values and any of them should be favored at the expense of the other. When both elements work together the best arts are formed.
The Lion King film is not just an animated Walt Disney film but an inspirational movie. I think this is a good movie for anyone to watch because it has a lot of meaning for example, life lessons. Throughout the movie, there were different examples of life lessons such as hope, justice, and perserverance. I would definitely watch it again and children and adults to watch this movie.
Throughout the book and these kids, journey to find the body they were all able to discover key parts in coming of age. King was able to point out key factors about how these kids were able to do so and the main points we’re that these kids despite coming from dysfunctional families and being stripped of their childhood they were able to grow up throughout the book and forgive and be able to move on from huge parts of their life. These kids have been through a lot and they were able to come face to face with these issues and be able to move forward. These are things that many people struggle with in life is being able to identify the root of their hurt and being able to move forward. Many people struggle with this and get stuck in the past. King was able to let him realize how to let down the barriers and be able to overcome these issues and be able to move
The Lion King tells the story of a young lion named Simba, who is the heir to his father's throne, whose name is Mufasa, also in the film is a character named Mufasa which is the younger brother of Mufasa and uncle of Simba. The movie is a Disney kids movie which can relate to many aspects and doctrines of the Christian faith. The movie starts off with a very detail segment that reminds one of a baptism right after the birth of baby Simba. “Christian symbolism is rich in this opening. It is a Baptism isn’t it? An anointing of a child of the King? The child is presented, the clouds open reminding us of the story of Jesus’ Baptism where the heavens open and the voice of God speaks; “this is my son, my beloved.” That’s how we come into the community
Parental influences can negatively impact a child’s life. An example of this is in the novel
The Lion King is a Disney animated movie portraying the life and times of Simba, who later becomes the greatest lion king known in the land. Simba's rise to the throne is a journey fraught with perils and hardships that make it an absolutely trilling story for the whole family! Although The Lion King is an exciting and entertaining movie, the movie is also a good illustration of several psychology concepts.
Hamlet and The Lion King shared majority of the themes that were found in each story. A theme of revenge was prominent in both the film and the original play as Simba and Prince Hamlet worked towards avenging their fathers throughout the story. Politics can also be seen in both as the stories explain to the viewer/reader that a bad king can mean a corrupt and equally bad kingdom (murders committed by the new kings). Although some harsh themes, family also seems to be mutual in both tales, more so seen in The Lion King. Shakespeare was able to show the reader the importance of family throughout Hamlet, when there is a power-hungry family member, and the rest of the family must stick together to overcome the struggle. The producers of The Lion King do a similar job as they explain the same thing, however also digging into the loyalty of Sarabi for Mufasa. The reason for a greater theme of positivity in the newer film is due to the demographics. The Lion King was primarily a children’s film, thus it required a simpler and happier tone. This also changes the overall plot by reducing the number of deaths and ruling out madness. This tone also affects the number of comic relief moments in the story. In Hamlet, there were only a few moments in which Rosencrantz and Guildenstern were able to lighten the mood of the play by offering comedic anecdotes. In The Lion
Although the movie The Lion King is often times viewed as nothing more than a child-based movie, in actuality, it contains a much deeper meaning. It is a movie that not only displays the hardships of maturation, and the perplexities associated with growing, but it is also a movie that deals with the search for one's identity and responsibility. As said by director Julie Taymor, "In addition to being a tale about a boy's personal growth, the `Lion King' dramatizes the ritual of the `Circle of Life'." Throughout The Lion King, Simba must endeavor through the cycle of birth, death, and rebirth to take his place in the circle of life, as king of the pridelands.
This movie was inspiring and encouraging to anyone who is struggling with something. Overcoming his controversies in life became the main point of the movie. Knowing that this movie was based upon a true story inspires the people even more.

I chose to view the movie Lion, a movie based on the book A Long Way Home by Saroo Brierley. This movie is about a five-year-old boy, Saroo, living in a poor, rural area in India. Saroo convinces his older brother Guddu, to let him tag along and find work in a nearby city. Saroo ends up trapped and alone in a decommissioned passenger train that takes him to Calcutta, over 1,000 miles away from his home.

Balance is an essential concept in almost every aspect of life. There is a balance between being underweight and overweight, a balance between being introverted and extroverted, a balance between work and lifestyle. In a person’s life, there will be moments where one must keep a balance between his structured, strict side, coined as being his “Apollonian” [Nietzsche, Friedrich Wilhelm. The Birth of Tragedy.] side, and his wild, carefree side, also known as his “Dionysian” side, based off of the two Greek Gods Apollo and Dionysus.
The lion king I believed can be forever remembered for the impact it had on the world and they way it took the world by storm. It was an epic and memorable movie that took my imagination by storm. Talking lions and singing blew my mind away. As I got older I could appreciate the amazing story telling and impact this movie had on my life and the way it made me look at the world. Watching the movie sometimes I forget that its an animated movie because the voice actors and the storytelling is so convincing that it could be a live movie. This movie grabbed my imagination as a child and still holds my attention to this day when I watch it.
It tells the meaning and the significance of the what the story is happening and what the character are doing. It also enhance drama, when Scar kills Mufasa. And the scene comes with a lot of sadness which means that the father is dead and the son feels that it was all of his fault. It also establish character. It shows when Simba left the pride land, because of his father’s death, and got saved by Pumbaa and Timon, it showed his matured and adulthood that he would be the next pride land king. It also gives and psychological insight showing what would an animal do if it got away of his home town and what made the lion a king. It also show the intensity of drama when Simba and Scar were fighting because Scar killed Simba’s father. It also gave the film continuity when at the end of the film came out the heir of the pride
Even though Lion King is a common children’s movie it is also one of the most racist disney movies around. The antagonist of the
