Music In The Lion King

The best Disney’s movie to watch as a family is The Lion King. The Lion King is for all ages. This movie talks about our society. Some of the themes, coming of age, society and class, still affects us. Even the music affects us in so many ways, that you are speechless. This movie has a lot of african music. The music of The Lion King has improvisation and call and response which makes the music in the movie even better. Now enough of the movie lets talk about the music.

The basic style of the music is pop and world. Pop music, also known as popular music, is “professional music which draws upon both folk music and fine arts music.” This means that pop music is a variety of sources including classical, jazz, rock, and fine arts music which

are aimed to the young people all over the world. For example, in the movie The Lion King, the song "Hakuna Matata”, which means no worries, talks to children saying don't worry and be happy while using varieties of instruments making them feel worry free. With that song, the children feels worry free and feels excited and energized for there rest of their days. Another basic style of music id world music. World music is a traditional music from the developing world. For example, in the movie The Lion King, the song “The Circle of Life”, gives children a real meaning of life. The song represents the infinite nature of energy, meaning if something dies it gives new life to another. It symbolizes the universe being sacred and divine.
The source of musical timbres in the vocal is a combination of vocal and instrumental.

For example, in the movie The Lion king, the song “The Circle of Life”, the instruments used in the song are a piano, vocals, a small woodwind, and percussion. The music starts with very powerful vocals which grab your attention and pull it towards the screen and what is about to happen. The vocals then turn to harmonies from a choir. The music is primarily background offscreen. This means that it consists of sound effects, music, or vocals that originate from the world of the story. For examples, in the movie The Lion King, the animals talk. In real life, animals do not talk. Also in the scene where they sing “Hakuna Matata”, the music in the movie tells what is happening through the lives of the characters, but in the real life all we see is people talking and screaming but not the music expressing our feelings, like The Lion King. Another scene is where the animals sing “Can You Feel The Love Tonight”. The song is telling their love story in through the music but in real life we tell our love story by

It tells the meaning and the significance of the what the story is happening and what the character are doing. It also enhance drama, when Scar kills Mufasa. And the scene comes with a lot of sadness which means that the father is dead and the son feels that it was all of his fault. It also establish character. It shows when Simba left the pride land, because of his father’s death, and got saved by Pumbaa and Timon, it showed his matured and adulthood that he would be the next pride land king. It also gives and psychological insight showing what would an animal do if it got away of his home town and what made the lion a king. It also show the intensity of drama when Simba and Scar were fighting because Scar killed Simba’s father. It also gave the film continuity when at the end of the film came out the heir of the pride

land.
The music was appropriate and effective in so many ways. It was because it shows the significance and the meaning of the real world what is happening the character lives and feelings. It gives an explanation of how an animal is feeling or behaving or having a life through the music. The music is way to give the real meaning not only for the character in the movie but for the society of young people all over the world especially older people. Even though this movie is full of sadness and happy and fun it is the best way to explain to young people of what the world is like when they are grown up.
