Do you ever wonder who you are or how others view you as a person? The color code quiz presumes your characteristics and brings you more knowledge of yourself. Based on my results, I share many qualities of the color, blue. What does it mean to be a blue? Blues are motivated by intimacy, and genuinely desire close relationships with others, and in return, they expect to be understood and appreciated. However, one color does not necessarily define my whole character, rather I am a diversity of many traits. To begin with, I was classified to have many similarities of a blue, and I would have to acknowledge that fact. Likewise, I have a motive of intimacy among people such as my teachers and peers. Building a stronger connection will form close relationships, thus giving me an advantage to build trust and improves my working …show more content…
I will strive for the best whether it is someone’s birthday present, my contribution in a group, or a simple task. For instance, whenever my friends had a birthday, I always like to recall to our past memories to make their gift filled with thought and love. I wasn’t one to give out a simple gift card, rather I’d take the time to create a meaningful present. Through my hard work and thoughtfulness, I would await for appreciation and acknowledgement. However, when people take advantage of my work and dedication, I begin to lose connection and trust is lost instantly. Last year, I was partnered with one of my classmates, and I depended on this person to contribute their part. However, they abandoned me when I needed their help the most, which was the day before the due date. Which left me to do all the work myself, and in return, they thought it was acceptable. Likewise to blues, I cannot tolerate laziness and people taking advantage of my sincerity and hardwork. I cannot take people’s word unless they put action to
The color blue is symbolizing comfort, soothing, and relaxing. Blue is the color of Paul’s dream world. He fantasizes about the opera, romance and finer things that don’t even exist in his life. The dream world eventually makes it impossible to live life in Pittsburgh. “He sits down before a “blue Rico” and ...
Have you ever thought about what it would be like not to be free? What would it be like not to be able to make choices? What would it be like not to be able to do what you want? It's scary to think about not being free, but even in the world today some people don't even have basic human freedoms. Lois Lowry shows us in her books The Giver and Gathering Blue what it would be like not to have freedom and how important it is that we have it.
What one wonders after hearing ?blue people? is if they were actually really blue in color? Well the answer is yes and no. Some of these people were, in fact, blue, but they were not completely covered with bright blue skin from head to toe. Although there were some cases though where most of an individual?s skin was blue, but for the most of them it was usually just their extremities and/or lips and parts of their face. Their color wasn?t completely blue but had more of just a bluish tint. It was not a bright blue like you are used to seeing but more or less of an ashen grayish that was mildly bluish in appearance but nevertheless they were ?blue,? some more than others.
Jacques Lacan stated, “We emphasize that such a form of communication is not absent in man, however evanescent a naturally given object may be for him, split as it is in its submission to symbols.” However, throughout the short story “Sonny’s Blues” by James Baldwin, symbols are being used to portray some of the characters action. From reading the story, it is evident that Sonny has a very strong love for music especially Jazz and Blues. Music can heal, transform, restore memories and elevate a person. This is seen throughout the entire story. Sonny and his brother were being transformed while he and the band performed. Also, the secondary source “Words and Music: Narrative Ambiguity in Sonny’s Blues’ by Keith Byerman, supports music as a key element in the story. Symbolism is being used to present a more vivid point to the readers so that they can identify with the story. In my essay, I will be analyzing James Baldwin’s short story “Sonny Blues” with a focus on symbolism.
Most traditional upbringings include a few key life lessons. Among these is a sense of paying it forward. There are many different proverbs to describe this occurrence; “Do unto to others as you would have them do unto you,” and “One good turn deserves another,” The idea of reciprocity is such a generalized norm that people often don’t realize that they partake in this behavior. These reciprocal behaviors can often be very simple; holding a door, offering favors, and sharing some of your time can help to establish equity in relationships. People keep track of the good things done for them so that they can pay back these good deeds. Being indebted to anyone is a situation most people are uncomfortable with.
I want to be a giver. I hope to help the program in any way I possibly can. To have the ability to represent this program would give me influence to be the best person I can be. Of course, as any human being does, I have weaknesses such as; my loss of influence, my occasional laziness, and my forgetfulness. A problem that I am in the process of fixing is my inability to stick with something for a long period of time. I like chasing for something but then after chasing so long I grow impatient and quit trying. This program, however, will not be like that, I will not let that happen and I doubt that will happen because it is so unlikely. I would be more than willing to do any task asked of me. My respectfulness would assist me in that because I respect everyone. I also said previously that I am very trustworthy and reliable. Any task asked of me is obviously going to mean something and I’ll gain something from it so of course I would be willing to do any task asked of me. I might ask questions but any human would. For the most part I think I would be more than glad to do a task given to me. When completing any task I will have a determined
Based on the findings that one has discovered in life itself, in essence, color helps with the flows of life in a way that it can determines your thoughts, emotions, and decisions. In my research I gained a vast amount knowledge and from what I’ve learned; now I can explain colors in depth, with a great amount of detail. If colors were non-existent, then, there would be a very grey look upon life. Colors brings forth light, and the light brings forth living. The world displays colors for a reason and it’s very important to life.
These relationships help manage our emotions through constant interaction and provides an open line of communication whenever or wherever it may be needed. However, this poses a question; can humans survive without interpersonal relationships? According to the online scholarly article titled: “Interpersonal Relationships, Motivation, Engagement, and Achievement: Yields for Theory, Current Issues, and Educational Practice” we emphasize just how critical and essential the perks obtained through these relationships are. Through these relationships we “theorize the concepts of academic morality on the strong and healthy relationships students establish” (Martin, 2009). Through interactions and through the successful and unsuccessful relationships we develop throughout our lifetime, we accumulate
Am I Blue? When hearing this title one might insight a colorful narrative that is meant for a youthful audience, when in fact the title is a representation of society’s dark and concealed meanings. Am I Blue by Alice Walker depicts all the struggles and hardships people have been through and still go through on a day to day basis. While the title suggests something pretty, the story itself proves to be far from it as one looking closely at the words and reading between the lines.
In analyzing the aspect of attraction, we take a look at attraction from the perspective of Elaine Hatfield and Ellen Berscheid. Each reason presented helps to develop the reasons for attraction and relational differences between Landon and Jamie.
After taking the survey, my results depicted that my primary style of thinking is Affiliative. I find this someone accurate in how I live my life, however there are characteristics I exhibit which diminish my affliliative personality. I find that I am continuously trying to find that perfect relationship or bond with someone. Frankly, I find it hard to make connections with others because my continuous need to be perfect. I find that my closest and best relationships are those who have common values, way of living, and ideals about living life. Once I find a relationship that is trusting, I try to maintain it to my best ability. I am very easy to talk to, however my best communication is with others that have the same values. I express my liking for the other person by showing some generosity and kindness.
Have you ever wondered why yellow makes you irritated? Why purple makes you feel happy? Why green calms you? Why orange helps you feel energized? Many people think that colors are just colors. When I left my room, my mother knew that I had gone through a rough time, and I did not want to talk to her about it. Even though there was only a month left in my school year, I promised myself that I would be completely truthful to my friends, my family, my heritage, and myself. I expected all my friends to leave me, but I was fully prepared for this. However, none of this ever happened. My friends didn’t leave me, I wasn’t alone at the lunch table, I wasn’t even seem differently by those around me. I had failed my family by doing this, and I wished I had stopped acting like someone I wasn’t sooner. This is one of the only mistakes I have made which I consider a failure because it had taken me close to a year to fix, and this is why I consider it my most successful failure.

At first, I couldn’t explain why I was so angry. I began to reexamine my reactions toward my classmates. I asked myself, “Why are you so angry when you discovered that your pen was gone?” After thinking about the question, an answer formed in my head. However, I was not ready to admit it. The answer to that question was that I was a selfish person. I didn’t want to lose my nice pencil. I didn’t want to buy a new one, which only cost me 30 NT. Suddenly, I realized that I was too selfish. My selfishness would affect my ability to socialize with others. From that day on, I learned how to share with others. I also became a more outgoing person. At the end, I successfully blend into the Kang Chiao
