If you want to be happier in any area of life, then you need to read this article. This is especially true if you don 't already work harder than most people to get the life you want - because if you don 't work harder than the average person, you are not going the extra mile and you are denying yourself the life you really want.
What does it mean to go the extra mile? It means to work hard, do what you need to do, and be consistent with your efforts.
For instance, if you want to be a millionaire, you need to be willing to go the extra mile. It 's not easy to become a millionaire. If it was, everyone would be doing it! You need to be willing to do the work. You need to be willing to invest in your education and learn what needs to be learned

He 's always loved playing guitar and was in a few bands when he was younger, and it was a lot of work! Eventually, he decided that it wasn 't worth working so hard to possibly never get where he wanted to get, so he stopped playing, went to university, and became an accountant! Fast forward twenty years and he realized that it 's easy to give up and not work towards what you REALLY want, but it 's not rewarding. He hated his job and his life. He picked his guitar back up, recorded himself playing, put it up on YouTube, and is now working every day (in the hours after his accounting job) to make the dream of playing guitar for a living come true. He is willing to go the extra mile because he knows that choosing to not do what needs to be done is much more painful than working hard towards a goal that he 's passionate about.
Going The Extra Mile Makes The Difference Between Being Brilliant And Being Mediocre
Not everyone who puts in a lot of hard work is going to have the success they want. Sometimes things just don 't work out or can 't work out. But, the chances of success increase exponentially if you are willing to work hard and be consistent with your hard work when other people bail out or give up.
The other day I was watching a successful YouTuber named Trisha Paytas. She gets a lot of hate for a number of different reasons, including the fact

Whether it 's a relationship, a health goal, or a career goal, everyone regrets not putting in the hard work required to get the outcome that they wanted.
For instance, in order to get the body of your dreams, you need to go the extra mile. You can 't just be mediocre and end up getting a great body. You can 't even be dedicated to a daily workout routine and get the body of your dreams. You need to be put in the extra work required both in exercise and nutrition to shape your body in a way that you want. You need to go the extra mile. So, if you see anyone with a toned and healthy looking body, you know that they are going the extra mile when it comes to their health. They are doing what the average person is not willing to do.
It goes beyond appearance, though. I know plenty of people who wanted to be healthy and strong, but they were not willing to work on their health in a consistent manner, and when they ended up getting sick, the regret they felt was
I agree with Gladwell that hard work can lead to success. Too often we think success happens because someone has money or gets lucky. This is wrong. Success takes hard work, imagination, and motivation. “Success is not a random act. It arises out of a predictable and powerful set of circumstances and opportunities.” (Gladwell 52) If you assert yourself and use your mind and imagination, you can create those
The motivation to be successful is very powerful. Some people will work twelve hours a day, seven days a week in order to feel successful. These people will work so
If someone wants to succeed in life and stay recognized by superiors, then he or she ought to appear hardworking. A person begins with setting goals. There are two categories, the first, “be” goals and the second, “do” goals. In other words, ask yourself, "What to be?" or "What to achieve?" Four categories of goals consist of wealth, health, relationships, and self-fulfillment which equal success. Working diligently to finish a task demonstrates how to live a successful life. Given these points, Thomas Edison, Helen Keller and Harriet Tubman, all exceptional achievers, found that prosperity undoubtedly comes along for everyone who perseveres.
Most people throughout the world strive for success in each task they take on, and along with this, many reasons contribute to why they succeed or not. If a person does not succeed, they may automatically blame themselves because of their level of strength. Others may blame themselves for not having enough knowledge about what they are trying to succeed at. The real reason that people may not succeed, however, is their lack of determination and happiness throughout his/her journey that is demonstrated in the book Outliers: The Story of Success by Malcolm Gladwell.
So while randomness and luck greatly affect our chances of being successful, persistence can help lower our rate of failure. Some factors may hinder our opportunity to become successful, but ultimately we have far more control over our fates.
My philosophy of success, is me growing into the person I want to become and being comfortable with the choices I decide to make in life. Success is not something I can achieve overnight, it’s something I must plan for then proceed to working hard for it as well. Without hard work, there isn’t anything successful about the job I want to get done or the job I wish to get done. Doing anything without hard work and dedication, and expecting the best outcome is not success; it’s mediocrity. Being mediocre/ will only allow me or anyone else to have a ‘Victim’s Mindset.’
´´ If one advances confident in the direction of his dreams, and endeavors to live the life he imagined, he will meet with a success unexpected in common hours. ’’ These words were spoken by Henry David Thoreau.Success is within the mind of the individual. A large portion of one´s life is spent working to become successful. People are told throughout childhood to work hard so they can grow up and achieve all of their dreams. But success takes many different forms. Different people have different interpretations of what success means to them. It does not matter how related they are to each other in certain áreas they always have a different point of view of what success really is. For some success is measured by social status and wealth
There is no concrete definition for success, and there is not a foolproof way to obtain it, but it is something many strive for. In Outliers: The Story of Success, Malcolm Gladwell explains, with examples of successful people throughout history, that hard work along with a little bit of luck and willingness to seize every opportunity is the only way to become successful. Malcolm Gladwell illustrates throughout the story external factors that are mostly uncontrollable and internal factors like hard work that are very controllable lead to these outliers and unimaginable success stories.
There are lots of examples of this in the book but here is a good example from Mawi when he ran track. “That summer, I would run at least six days a week and lift weights every other day. I did it, working during the day and training at night. Again, my hard work paid big dividends … I earned all-conference honors.” (115). Mawi joined the high school track and field team. During his sophomore and junior years, Mawi only made marginal progress. He wanted to change that. Mawi knew from his father that if you work hard, you will succeed. As you can see by this quote, Mawi did as his father said and no doubt, he succeeded in getting all-conference honors. Persisting is not just in sports, however, Mawi also worked hard at school. He recalls, “I stayed up night after night, rereading the chapters and reviewing my notes. I would get home from sports at 6 p.m., eat, help out around the house, and study until midnight. Then I would get up at 6 a.m. and do it all over again. The hard work paid off. I often got the highest grade in the class.” (112). As you can see, Mawi also worked hard at school. Mawi took an advanced us history class. He knew that by working hard and persisting, he could get the highest grade in the class. Mawi spent 6 hours studying and reviewing his work. He was committed to earning the highest grade in his class and his hard work paid off. Working hard and persisting is a valuable lesson to learn because it produces positive results. Also, it does not matter whether you are running track or studying for a test, if you work hard at anything and set your mind to it, you will achieve your
Regret is a powerful word and an even bigger motivator. Regret of things not done or chances not taken can
For some, happiness is all that matters. Happiness is achieved in many ways, and it doesn’t always involve money. There are many things that contribute to making a person feel happy and successful. One can feel successful without a lot of money at all. For example, feeling loved is something that makes everyone happy. Many believe that without love life is not thoroughly complete, thus never truly achieving success. Ones line of work can also affect how happy he is. Some feel that it is more important to enjoy work and get less money than it is to hate work and get paid more. Another factor in achieving psychological success is ones ability to enjoy what life gives him. There are many qualities of life that are overlooked. Everyone is dealt family and it is important to value that.
Success only truly comes with being happy. Happiness and success are the accomplices of one another. Someone cannot have accompanies without the other. Happiness brings success, and success brings even more happiness. Success, in the dictionary, is defined as the achievement of something desired planned or attempted. Therefore, success cannot be judged by anyone than oneself. It is a personal thing. It is the realization of goals, desires or plans made by one 's self. It is not measurable and yet is something we always use to compare others or appraise someone 's worth. Success, in one form or another, is something that someone should always be striving for. For some people it is something they will do subconsciously, and for others it will be something they will constantly labor for. Because success is something that is different for everyone, it is best that they measure their personal success by their sense of self worth instead of others. To have succeeded is to have lived, as someone wanted; ' it is to have lived well and laughed

Having a healthy body can contribute to an individual’s overall well being and happiness. In the reading about virtue and health by Gary Ferngren, we learn about the meaning of ‘virtue’ in the ancient world which referred to the “quality or proficiency of men…” instead of in reference to moral behavior (Ferngren 176). The Greeks considered health to be essential to one’s virtue. Maintaining a healthy diet will help an individual perform better. Personally, I find that healthy habits are beneficial and uplifting for the soul. Those days when I eat right and am active, I am in high spirits, I feel good, and I am more motivated to achieve things. According to new US dietary guidelines, most Americans “don’t get enough health-enhancing and disease-preventing nutrients” which is a major problem that is not only physically detrimental, but also discouraging in terms of one’s mental health (Mayo Clinic Staff, “New dietary guidelines” 3). When I feel healthy on the inside, I have greater self-esteem and confidence and this is really important when it comes to how others view themselves or they potential. It also helps to maintain a positive outlook on
