Abraham Lincoln, the 16th president of the United states once said, “America will never be destroyed from the outside. If we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves.” His words mean America is and is meant to be a free, great country, but when all of us that are free start to fight, our freedom will start to diminish because of ourselves. Freedom is one of the most important aspects of life in America. There are many parts to freedom that make it so important. The parts include laws, military, rights, what it means to be American, Veterans and Veteran’s day. The first thing freedom means to me is laws. Laws and how they limit and promote our freedom is among the most important aspects of freedom. It is extremely important that our country has many logical laws with reasonable punishments, but many more laws are being introduced more often. Some of these new laws are starting to limit our freedom even more, and even though it’s not right, people want to break them more. The United States Military has been fighting to protect and keep our beloved country since it became a country in 1776 and even before that. In the past it has fought and made us independant, united us, and help other countries. The military is still fighting for our country and will be for as long as we are free. The veterans in the military are a huge part of our freedom. They have fought for our country, and would do anything for it. They have chosen and choose everyday to leave their life behind for a period of time. They leave their families, homes, friends, and environments.
