This bill was introduced to the House of Commons in October 2012 and received Royal Assent in June 2015 but was not brought into force before Parliament was dissolved in 2015. In February 2017 Bill C-38 was introduced in the House of Common. Bill C-38 is An Act to amend An Act to amend the Criminal Code dealing with exploitation and trafficking in persons.
