When you look at the book The Birds, and then you watch the movie you will be amazed at how different it is. There were so many differences and not as many similarities. The movie started off as two people meeting each other, and the book started off as a guy married to a women having two kids. So many differences. The biggest difference that popped out was the names on the movie and the names on the book were two different set of names. The movie the main woman character was Melanie Daniels, and then there was the lawyer Mitch, and his sister Cathy. With the book He was already married. His name was Nat, his wife’s name was not said, his oldest (daughter) name was Jill, and the littlest (son) name was Johnny . The movie and the book started in different ways, the movie started out with Melanie Daniels going into a bird shop. Mitch (the lawyer) …show more content…
Both Mitch and Nat put wood over there windows and chimneys and stuff so the birds couldn’t get in. They both were attacked inside a house. But that’s about it, there wasn’t very many similarities. I think the author made the movie and the book different because the author wanted something different so he was like I think this needs to be different. I don’t understand why he made this in the first place. I think he might just like animals or something attacking people for joy. I think the author was feeling joy of birds attacking people. In the end, I was not a fan of the book nor the movie. They were just weird to me, and it wasn’t interesting to me at all. It just didn’t make sense that birds were attacking people, and no one could figure out why. I feel like no bird on this earth would do that, and people that can make common sense and put two and two together would think the same thing. I just wasn’t a fan at all. Honestly would never had read or watched it if we didn’t have to as an assignment. The Birds was not my
While watching the movie, I could see that the main characters in the book, both their names and traits, were the same in both the movie and book. However, aside from that there were many different as...
There are usually differences in two different versions of something. This can often be seen when a book is made into a movie. There are many similarities and differences in the book and movie versions of To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee.
There are many differences and similarities from the movie and book. For example, there was one part that didn't happen in the book this that when Davie was heading to the house of shaws there was two men pretending that one of the men was sick and needed sliver coins for medicine, you could see that the man was lying because he had a little bit of coins him self. This dint happen in the book and it gave the movie a
As most everyone knows, there are differences between a book and it’s movie adaptation. This is applicable to the book and it’s movie counterpart To Kill a Mockingbird, as well. But aside from the differences, there are also similarities between these two.
I believe the movie is better than the book because you hear sound effect, you also see visual detail, and there's props.
Books and movies can be sort of similar but they can not be exactly the same. The books can give more detail than the movies and sometimes the movies leave out some of the most important little things. The book Lord of the Flies is about young boys, ranging from six to twelve, who crashed on an island and they are learning how to survive until they get rescued. The main characters, Ralph, Piggy, and Jack, are helping all the younger boys, until eventually there starts become tension between Ralph and Jack. Later on in the book, the boys split into two tribes and most of the boys leave Ralph’s tribe, so it is just Piggy and him. Everybody who joined Jack’s tribe you could tell that they were losing their humanity. In the movie you can visually
In the book, Asher and the Chief Elder seem to be closer to Jonas and friendlier to other people. On the other hand, Chief Elder seems to be a villain. Chief Elder is always to somehow trying to get rid of The Giver. At the end, she tells Asher to take down his best friend, Jonas. Asher does things like throwing Jonas down the river, and stopping him from leaving his house at night. Asher seems to be jealous of Jonas’s relationship with Fiona. Fiona has a different job in the movie than in the novel. Even though she got the job she expected to in both the film and book, in the novel she works at the House of the Old, and then in the movie she works at the Nurturing Center. Jonas in the book receives his first memory on his back. However, in the movie he gets his first memory on his upper-hand. A difference that changes up the view of the series is Jonas being eighteen in the movie and twelve in the novel. This changes the whole perspective of the series because it helps you understand the decisions of Jonas better. If Jonas was twelve he wouldn’t be able to be brave enough and make the excellent decisions throughout his adventure with
For example, at the beginning of the movie we learned that Ben had no father nor any sibling like Kevin did in the book. In the book, Kevin was motivated by his father to do well in school and get good grades to get a good job as well as being under his two sister’s successful shadows. In the movie, Ben had to be self-motivated and worked hard to get the grades that he wanted with only the support of his mother. Because of the similar plot the movie and book were pretty similar in the middle, but they did show different focuses. The book focused more on the card counting expertise and thoughts that came about because of the high stress lifestyle Kevin lived. In the movie they were able to focus on the party life of Ben because of his new lifestyle. A very significant difference was in the end of both stories and how one had a neat and tidy ending and one left the audience wondering what happened next. In the book Kevin does not know for sure what he should do for the rest of his life because of his attachment to the lifestyle of card counting. In the movie. Ben was sure he was not completely done card counting and even formed a new team to
The director’s choice of interpretation in the black and white movie was more dedicated to the book. The first twenty minutes of the movie was just as you would imagine it while reading the book. The major difference was the opening scene with pictures of people enjoying an outdoor activity,
Although the two versions were different, they were alike in some ways. For example, the story begins along the shores of lake michigan at sunset towers. Turtle is the winner in the movie and book. Another likeness is the fact that Sam Westing pretends to be four different people. Whether you just read the book or watch the movie, there are many
In both the novel and movie focus on the war. The war influences the characters to enroll. Also, the main setting is at the Devon School. However, in the novel Gene visits Leper at his house but in the movie Leper lives in the woods. In the novel Gene is coming back to the Devon School 15 years later. However, in the book he is coming to Devon as a new student. Therefore, similarities and differences exist in time and setting in the novel and the movie. In the novel and the movie there are similarities and differences in events, character, and time and setting.
Something that was noticeably different in the book than in the movie are some of the different places from the book. Mary described everything in great detail and in the movie they edited and modified a lot of the places to make the story seem more interesting. In the movie, when victor brings the creature to life, he has an audience. In the book, he makes it known that he wants to keep the creature a secret and has no intentions on letting anyone find out. The differences range from the characters mood, to the plot, to the actual events in the book.
The way they contrast is in the book The Plot has many little things that lead to one big thing yet the movie has a small amount of big events that lead into one huge event. this changes how suspenseful the story is and how curious you get as a reader. an additional thing that is unalike is that the book's plot has a lot of detail where as the movie is missing a lot of scenes from the book. This happens to many movies which makes the book The better choice. along with these differences are some similarities these being both plots create the same storyline. another is that both plots have some parts that are completely unrelated to others. To Kill a Mockingbird in To Kill a Mockingbird are different as well as the
One thing that can make a book good is characters. In the book, there were many more animals in the farm. The movie did not show many animals except for the main animals. Even thought this is a small difference, it can be noticeable. In the book, Mollie was a character.
Of the many changes made between the book and the movie, most were made to keep the audience interested in the story. Most people who watch TV don’t have a long attention span. Executives at NBC didn’t want to spend millions to produce a movie and then have nobody watch it. The screenwriters had to throw in some clever plot twists to keep people interested. Another reason the movie was different from the book was the material in the book was a little too racy for network TV. Take the ending, for example, nobody wants to see a grown man hang himself. This was a reason the producers had to change some material in the movie.
