Richard Adams book, Watership Down, tells the story of a group of rabbits and their adventures to stay alive and start their own warren. Hazel and his brother Fiver along with a few friends set off to escape the evil that Fiver sense is coming. Once Hazel and his friends finally discover the down and dig their home they realize they have no does and will need to find some or the new warren will be unable to reproduce. Luckily for them a fierce rabbit living nearby, named General Woundwort, has an overcrowded warren housing plenty of does. However he is not willing to hand them over.
