Julius Caesar Julius Caesar was once called, “A strong leader who brought peace and order to Rome.” He was known by his supporters as a hero. Julius Caesar was a hero because he made reforms to Rome, he helped the poor, and he was a good military general.

First off, Caesar’s reforms were developments of Rome. He granted citizenship for people outside of the Italian Peninsula, and he enlarged the Senate to 900. He also made land owners use one third free men for the workforce. Along with that, he set up more public work programs for people without jobs. He also created reforms including the Julian Calendar and colonies to provide land for poor Roman citizens. He used these reforms to help the citizens inside Rome, as well as the poor. …show more content…

They couldn’t afford land, so Caesar founded new colonies to provide land for the poor. Along with this, Caesar additionally gave citizenship to Romans outside the Italian Peninsula, and set up work programs for non-slaves who needed jobs. He also created games and entertainment to keep the poor happy.

Lastly, Julius Caesar was an inspiration to his troops. He could even manipulate his soldiers to get them to do what he wanted. His troops also showed a great affection for him, they loved him. He showed them that he cared about them, and they returned the favor by showing affection back. They would follow him everywhere, and give up anything for him.

In conclusion, even though some people may have thought of Julius Caesar as a horrible leader and general, he did some goods things for other people but himself. Julius Caesar was a good leader because he made reforms to Rome, he helped the poor, and he was a good military
