Vox Media's Racked Video Intern Report

It is with great enthusiasm that I submit my application for Vox Media’s Racked Video Intern position. I think that I would be a great addition to the Racked team as it’s a company that focuses on making retail and fashion accessible. As a short form storyteller myself, I have the understanding that an viewer should be able to be fully experience a discussion or be introduced to a new topic in a matter of minutes. My prior experience as a short form storyteller takes root in my schooling as an animation major at the School of Visual Arts. During this time I learned After Effects, which I used to produce short projects every week. These projects included short films, commercials, and music videos.

Not only will I be able to bring an animation

background for stylized content, but I also have non-fiction production and editing experience. I have interned at Morgan Spurlock’s production company, Warrior Poets where  my responsibilities included  greeting guest, general admin, running errands: pick-up and return equipment, transcribing videos, and researching for projects in development, and assisting all departments with individual tasks. At Reel Works I had even greater responsibility as I interviewed and edited the 5 questions videos for the 2015 Gala. I also am currently participating in the Made in NY Post Production program, where I’m gaining Avid, Photoshop, and Adobe Premiere proficiency.

My resume provides further detail on my experience and passion for storytelling, it is my goal to apply these skills to creating content that tells a story while allowing it’s viewers to gain a new perspective. I look forward to setting up a meeting to discuss in greater detail how I can benefit Racked and Vox Media.
