In my visual I did specific artistic styles to reflect the quote, for what it means for me. I did a globe as the overall idea because this quote mainly meant for me was moving, so I showed it through a globe. Also this relates to anyone who has moved from another country to find a better home for their family, whether it was to Canada or anywhere else in the world because at the end we are given better opportunities to a better life. For the colours, I did the water dark blue to show the idea of moving is hard because we leaving our loved ones and our home behind, but I did the countries in light green to show that though we a moving away from our homes, we are building better ones wherever we choose to move. For the water I coloured it in
Imagery: Some of the images that most stood out to me were when McCourt mentions his father, "Dad reading The Irish Press and smoking a cigarette" I can picture his father just there reading the newspaper so nonchalant and carefree as if his house weren't half destroyed. Also when they mention Italy, a very beautiful place that contrasts greatly with the current state of his house.
1) This quote is an example of imagery because it uses figurative language to describe what New York is like late at night. As well as it uses words
Imagery is a grandiose part of this poem, simile’s help the reader to comprehend the enhanced pace fast break of this poem. (L.6) “gathering the orange leather from air a cherished possession” gives the reader an image of just how essential the ball is, and that he is control of the situation. Whenever I get a chance to get a rebound like he did, I take it. It is a feeling of hard work pays off when you get the chance to get a rebound. Another example of a simile, (L.18) “ in slow motion , almost exactly like a coach’s drawing on a blackboard’
Throughout the story, Walker uses brilliant imagery in describing each detail of what the mother sees through the eyes of her world. This imagery in turn creates a more interesting and imaginative story, and allows the reader to experience what the narrator is experiencing. The theme of imagery is not within the story, but how the story is told. However, the theme of love of one's family heritage is within the heart and not on the wall.
Imagery is present in the passage to show how the language is powerful and to think more deeply about the meaning of Between the World and Me. It is used to help the people visualize what is happening throughout the passage, words such as “blueberry pies, fireworks, ice cream sundaes, immaculate bathrooms” are used in the text to make the readers be able to feel,

First, White uses imagery throughout his essay to create an effective visual of his experiences at the lake. To start his essay, White reflects on his childhood memories of the lake when he and his family visited every summer: “I remembered clearest of all the early morning, when the lake was cool and motionless, remembered how the bedroom smelled of the lumber it was made of and the wet woods whose scent entered the screen.” This passage enhances
While thinking about metaphors, a poem came to mind. It's the one at the beginning of this paper. The poem portrays life as a journey. The road we tread stretches out before us. Around every bend lies a new experience. The adventure is overcoming any obstacles we encounter. Ah, but that is when the fun begins.
Ever since I was little I remember playing games where I would fight the bad guy and win the girl in the end. This never seem to affect me or make me wonder what small effect it had on my thought process. In games such as Zelda, call of duty, assassin creed, gears of war, Mario, and even halo you play as a white heterosexual male. The idea of playing this way never seemed to phase me as a young child. As I grew up and became more aware of the difference of people and the need for other as well as myself a need to be able to connect and find one 's self in different place such as games, movies, and TV shows. I became aware of the one sided views that video games seem to have. Then I realized that it was seen as acceptable to only have the one sided displayed due to the lack of speaking out on the need for change.

Perception is the lens through which we view our world, as well as interpret or reflect upon life events. I see my world as art –something benevolent and bigger than the mind can ever imagine or fully comprehend. Holding fast to this worldview enabled me to overcome one of the greatest obstacles that I had ever encountered in my life—one which I thought I would never get pass. It was an interesting day on March 4, 2015. I heard multiple voices and car door slams outside of the house. That is when my mom called me downstairs to inform me that my father had passed. This was very shocking news and almost instantaneously changed my perception on life itself! My grades dropped, my confidence was low, and I felt as if everything had been washed away in a tsunami of despair and hurt. However, I emerged with one central truth: The only thing that I need on this journey is faith.
In both films “Warrior Champions: From Baghdad to Beijing” and “Darius Goes West” showed the lives of different individuals overcoming their physical disabilities through recreation. In “Warrior Champions” the film focuses on four Iraq War Veterans and their journeys to the Paralympic Games in Beijing. Although facing many obstacles along the way, three out of the four veterans were given a chance to participate in the games to represent American Soldiers. In “Darius Goes West” the main character Darius suffers from Muscular Dystrophy which has made him rely on a wheelchair to get around. Darius and a group of his friends decide to make a road trip with plenty of stops on the way from Georgia all the way to California to get Darius’s wheelchair pimped out by MTV show “Pimp My Ride”. Both of these films showed the daily struggles that people with disabilities encountered but also the great amount of joy that comes from recreational activities.
I decided to represent the words “graceful,” “talented,” and “strong” in the form of a dancer due to my strong connection between those words and my history in dance, as that is where I most commonly heard those words used. I then depicted the phrase “you can do it” next to an image of weights, as I associate the phrase with both mental and physical strength, and overcoming difficult obstacles. I also utilized an image of a mirror to include the words “regal,” and “beautiful,” with a focus on the words “kind,” “powerful,” “creative,” “brilliant,” and “unique” because all of these words are ways in which people have described my personality or physical appearance or my personality. Thus, I see those words as what others would have me see in the mirror, with me focusing on the personality traits rather than physical traits, as that is what I view as more important. I then used an image of a person smiling to hold the words “safe,” “helpful,” and “capable” due to the joy that being all of these things brings me; as I enjoy helping people and making them feel safe in a situation in which they otherwise might not. Finally, I decided to portray the phrase “it’ll be okay” on top of an image of a
This lesson is designed to review and reinforce a few important concepts about plants (e.g. Needs, parts, sequence of planting) and to also guide the students through applying a few scientific inquiry (e.g. Making observations, experimentation, discussion, reflection, reporting results etc.). The students see the results of these seeds planted under these conditions for the past week. Two plants in particular have already been grown their growth has been
I will fund my exhibit through donations and sales. I would reach out to the community, explain my exhibit and ask for donations, but I would primarily generate revenue through selling items related to the exhibit like prints of the works being shown, creative posters, key chains, t-shirts and other mementos. Additionally, I would have bake sales and fairs and other activities of a similar nature.
