Virtual campus tour is a software program where the users can experience the same thing as in the real world. They can touch, walk, run, sit on a chair, or change direction. In other words, it is like an online expedition that is close to real campus walking tour. Virtual campus tour could be a useful reference in the future for architects, urban planners, and government entities.
My part in this project is making the brochure and PowerPoint. The brochure contains information about the purpose of our project in asking for fundraiser. We need about $ 1,000 to create this software that supports the 3D virtual tour. I chose the fundraiser brochure because it looks nice and appropriate as a fundraiser tool.
The presentation is in form of PowerPoint and proposal. We need the proposal in order to ask for fundraiser. Pius and Abdallah are responsible for the proposal. The proposal contains information such as why ISU need the virtual tour, how the virtual tour can be implemented, the benefit in the future, and how the program works.
The slides in PowerPoint include the background of virtual tour, the description of the program, the reasons why there should be a virtual campus tour, and picture samples. The background of this virtual campus tour is started with four people gathered in September 2003. They formed a team after several gatherings in campus. The team consists of Andre Lokasari (Computer Science Senior), Abdallah Mwita (Computer Engineering Senior), Adams Sutanto (Aerospace Engineering Senior), and Pius Susanto (Industrial Engineering Senior). They name themselves the ISU campus simulation team after the proposed project came up with the next year in January 2004, namely, the virtual real-time campus map project. The diverse backgrounds from the members of this group contribute to each other work in coming up with this real-time campus map idea. All the members except Pius have done a lot of research to create the first part of real-time virtual campus tour. All the paper works including the proposal of this project, fundraising, and all other external affair matters are Pius’s responsibilities.
The creation of 3D computer graphics consists of modelling, scene layout setup, and rendering. The modelling part could be described as shaping individual objects that are later used in the scene. There are some modelling techniques such as Constructive Solid Geometry, NURBS modelling and polygonal modelling. Editing object surface or material properties such as color, luminosity, diffuse and specular shading components are included in modelling processes.
All in all, Mu is the place for memorial, art, and entertainment to be enjoyed. A landscape create for students.
Still in the process of researching will be adding more before presentation, will be scheduling appointment with you to discuss thoughts and ideas.
In “Can You Be Educated from a Distance?” by James Barszcz, the author attempts to pinpoint the negative aspects of distance education compared to traditional classrooms. At the beginning of the article, he first describes the basic format of online courses, which results in a vast minimization of face-to-face communication of students with instructors. He then touches on some of the beneficial qualities of online education, and the reasoning for its quickly growing popularity among students and schools alike. He mainly attributes this trend to the overall convenience that is promised to students by online courses. These courses allow students to learn material in the comfort of their own home. Barszcz also considers the financial appeal for universities. Having an increasing number of students enrolled solely in online classes allows schools to save money on electricity, as well as decrease the amount of staff they employ. Also mentioned is that many strong advocates of distance...
Two dimensional computer generated imagery was used to express depth and to produce new shades that could not be depicted just through animation and drawing.

Many people enjoy working or participating in a group or team, but when a group of people work together chances are that conflicts will occur. Hazleton describes conflict as the discrepancy between what is the perceived reality and what is seen as ideal (2007). “We enter into conflicts reluctantly, cautiously, angrily, nervously, confidently- and emerge from them battered, exhausted, sad, satisfied, triumphant. And still many of us underestimate or overlook the merits of conflict- the opportunity conflict offers every time it occurs” (Schilling, nd.). Conflict does not have to lead to a hostile environment or to broken relationships. Conflict if resolved effectively can lead to a positive experience for everyone involved. First, there must be an understanding of the reasons why conflicts occur. The conflict must be approached with an open mind. Using specific strategies can lead to a successful resolution for all parties involved. The Thomas-Kilmann Conflict Mode Instrument states “there are five general approaches to dealing with conflict. The five approaches are avoidance, accommodation, competition, compromise, and collaboration. Conflict resolution is situational and no one approach provides the best or right approach for all circumstances” (Thomas, 2000).
The term global warming refers to an unnatural and accelerated increase in temperature. These increases are mostly due to the release of heat trapping gases such as methane, nitrous oxide, halocarbons, and ozone. Almost all of these are byproducts of human commerce and activity. Things like car emissions, raising livestock, producing industrial chemicals and even deforestation add more of these chemicals to our air, throwing off the natural balance of our atmosphere (Berger 30). The mean temperature on Earth has risen about 1 degree Fahrenheit since the industrial revolution. It has been predicted that the climate could increase about 2.2 to 10 degrees in the next 100 years (EPA 2 0f 2). This data is supported by countless satellites, weather studies, oceanic studies and computer models of world wide climate patterns and this warming is inevitable (Shute et al 44). When doing global warming research one must be cautious, because the biggest source of misinformation on global warming is the fossil fuel companies who will have you believe that global warming and it’s ill effects are nothing but scientific hype.
Global warming is the rise in the temperature on the earth’s surface. The planet’s temperature is rising and we are the cause for this. There are a few ways greenhouse gases are responsible for the warming and humans producing them in a variety of ways. Since the 1970s, 90% of the warming has continued on the earth’s surface and in the ocean’s, as well. Even though the oceans dominant role is energy storage, the term global warming is also referred to the rise of temperature in the air and sea at the earth’s surface. Global warming has been rising and the world is being threaten by the effects. “The risk of catastrophic climate change is getting worse, according to a new study from scientists involved with the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC).” (Biello) Threats ranging from the deconstruction of coral reefs and serious weather occurrences like droughts, floods and hurricanes. They are becoming more likely as the temperature change is already under its way. Most people thought that global warming would only affect certain species and only parts of the world but nature has been cooperating with our theories of the effects on global warming and climate changes, unfortunately. There are many causes of global warming as in deforestation, most of the warming comes from the combustion of fossil fuels in vehicles, factories and electricity production. The effects are threatening to our lives, the environment, the wildlife is at risk, etc.
Global warming and the greenhouse effect are issues discussed by scientists all the time. A natural process that keeps earths temperature at a livable rate is called the greenhouse effect. The energy from the sun warms up the earth when the rays from the sun are absorbed by greenhouse gasses. The gasses then become trapped in the atmosphere. Carbon dioxide, water vapor, methane and nitrous oxide are the most common greenhouse gasses. Greenhouse gases cause the radiant heat of the sun to be trapped in the Earths lower atmosphere which causes global warming. If there weren’t any greenhouse gasses, the earth would be really cold due to very little sun rays being absorbed on the earth. Global warming can and will lead to several problems that affect the environment in which we humans live in. These problems can lead to warmer temperatures all around the world, it can endanger animals and the wildlife, and it can lead to widespread flooding from the glaciers melting. Here are a few more future effects that I will discuss in more detail about. Damage to human health, Severe stress on forests, wetlands, and other natural habitats, how fish will be affected. Global warming is a serious problem that will affect our generation when we are older.
According to Bolman and Deal (1997), conflict happens because of a variety of factors. Individual differences in goals, expectations, values, and suggestions about how to best manage a situation are unavo...
Distance education allows you to study at home or in your office, according to your own schedule, there are no classes to attend. Generally, each course comes with a manual that may be accompanied by videotapes, audiotapes, audio CDs, computer diskettes, CD-ROMs, etc., depending on the nature of the course. As well, many courses incorporate computer conferencing, e-mail, listservs, computer-based quizzes, and the Internet. Some courses are entirely on-line, using the World Wide Web as an innovative learning environment.
The first step when beginning to implement drug education in a classroom or school is for the individual that is considering the topic to deem why the implementation is important. There are three main reasons teachers have found the implementation to be important. The first reason is that students are more likely to come in contact with drugs by hearing about them, or using them. By having a program implemented into a classroom or school, it can assist individuals to gain knowledge about the topic. The purpose of this is to help individuals make healthy, responsible decisions about drugs now and in the future that will reflect the individual’s identity and morals. The second reason is to help promote a healthy lifestyle for students. Teachers believe that by engaging students in drug education programs, it can help to benefit well-being of the students so that healthy lifestyles are reached to the fullest potentials. Lastly, teachers have found it to be important because teachers can act as a partner with parents, guardians, and other members of the community, in order to ensure that students are being provided with accurate and developmentally appropriate drug education. The school can provide knowledge to students in an area that is sometimes difficult for parents, guardians, and the community to talk about.
Computer Graphics is the bond between humans and computers. Computer graphics is a large field that branches into almost all fields of computer science; however its roots are young. Computer graphics has massively grown over the past 40 years and is now our primary means of communication with computer applications. Do to technological limitations in the 1950s, computer graphics began as a small, specialized field. The Whirlwind project at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology is marked as the origin of computer graphics (Machover 14).
Higher education, a pilot school education is now the main body of modern Distance Education, carried out from college, undergraduate to graduate students at different levels of education. Adult and vocational educations are to the form of distance education to carry out a certain advantage, because the time of modern distance education is the characteristics of flexibility for non-full-time adult students. However, efforts in th...
