Paintings, music, theater, and dance are various media that we use to show our expressions. They can be divulged in numerous schemes that we see, but do not know much about them. In society today, we have experienced and learned various types of ways to express our selves, in order to record history and to reveal spiritual truths in art, whether it be visual or performing art.
Painting is a very unique visual art that is used in several techniques, for instance oils the most popular of them all. This technique gives a range of color choices. Oils are durable, and dry slowly giving it a chance to be reworked. Watercolor, another technique is difficult and includes color that uses water as a thinner. The colors cannot be overlapped with this form. Furthermore, this technique you cannot produce this type of delicacy in any other area. Acrylic is a more modern synthetic product that dissolves in water. This media gives an artist various possibilities in color and technique. It is fast drying compared to the oil and it will not turn yellow or darken with age unlike the oil media. A more different technique is the Fresco or wall painting; this is a very difficult process. Once the pigments that have been suspended in water are applied, there can be no changes unless the wall is re-plastered.
Painting not only has various techniques of execution, but it must also have elements that are the building blocks that artists must wield. The elements of painting consist of line, form, color, mass, and textures. Line helps to identify form and show the boundary between areas of color and shapes or forms. This element is unique because it helps to create unity and emotional value in the artist work. Color is a characte...

In either visual or performing art, we can see that there are various ways of expression. In dance, there was ballet, that was a traditional and classical in movement. Theatre is expressed in tragedy where it has no overall positive ending to the play, but it is a lesson to be learned about the faults of humans. Art song, a musical form has given us a way to view poetry in a different light, by the musical background that is added. Finally. Oil paintings give us broader possibilities of colors and its textural manipulation. The arts are a very unique to our everyday lives that we experience on a daily basis. It is art fulfilling its role in society. It is art that brings the moral issues. It is art that makes us human.

The main character in the book Touching Spirit Bear, written by Ben Mikaelsen, is a kid named Cole Matthews that is in a lot of trouble. He had committed a lot of crimes, but when he violently attacks a kid who told on him for a crime, Peter Driscal, that draws the line. He’s only fifteen, but was going to adult court until he heard about circle justice. He is sentenced to an island in solitary and plans on escaping. He ends up not escaping but gets attacked by a Spirit Bear which will change him forever. The setting at the school shows Cole’s madness, his first time to the island and the detention center shows anger, and his second time to the island shows his change.
Art can mean many different things to many different people and was one of the earliest ways in which man has expressed him or herself to others, whether it was through cave drawings or hieroglyphics. It does not begin or end with just drawing or painting, items typically considered art, or the many other recognized facets of art including architecture, drama, literature, sculpting, and music. My research is based on Vincent van Gogh art, and two art paintings that I choose to study is The Starry Night, 1889, and the second art is The Sower 1888. Vincent van Gogh’s is known for Impressionism, that occurs to us in these times, much more to affirm close links with tradition, and to represent

Whether this comprises the completed work, or is a stage of the painting process, it is a valuable addition to the artist’s skill set. It is useful for crafts and home decorating, as well as fine art and paintings. With minimal tools and investment, it can add variety and interest to your work.
From the creation of art to its modern understanding, artists have strived to perform and perfect a photo realistic painting with the use of complex lines, blend of colors, and captivating subjects. This is not the case anymore due to the invention of the camera in 1827, since it will always be the ultimate form of realism. Due to this, artists had the opportunities to branch away from the classical formation of realism, and venture into new forms such as what is known today as modern art. In the examination of two well known artists, Pablo Picasso and Jackson Pollock, we can see that the artist doesn’t only intend for the painting to be just a painting, but more of a form of telling a scene through challenging thoughts, and expressing of the artists emotion in their creation.
Art is an expression of feelings, body language, and culture produced by humans. Art can be expressed in many different ways, and in many different forms from time to time! You’d be amazed with the different types of skilled work artists come up with each day and it’s all just someone, one person expressing how they feel or what they believe. One form of art that I find very interesting is Fauvism.
Artists typically utilize the other elements of art aforementioned to put emphasis on a particular part of the painting. Van Gogh uses size and the variations in color to accomplished this. For instance, we see that the bed is so much bigger because of the way it’s positioned with the big bottom board accentuated. We can also see this in the blue color of the wall, which emphasizes the different objects hanging, such as the frames and the towel. In the same manner, the colors in the second painting gives emphasis to the meaningful parts of the artwork.
Color and composition are important elements to art. Without understanding the basic information of these elements, you tend to just look at a piece of art and not fully understand what the artist is trying to covey. The Garden at Sainte-Adresse was painted by Monet in 1857. It is oil on canvas and is 38 5/8 x 51 1/18 inches. Monet was on vacation with his family, while painting this and even had them pose for the painting. The Autumn Effect at Argenteuil was painted by Monet in 1873. It is oil on canvas and is 21 5/8 x 29 3/8 inches. Monet painted this piece while out on his studio boat, a small boat that had a cover over it so he could paint outside in any weather. Even though, Garden at Sainte-Adresse and Autumn Effect at Argenteuil,
The acrylic painting medium is a fairly new addition to the various painting mediums available to todays artists. It has been around since the 1950's and has been continually under development and refinement ever since.
The beauty of a portrait, the adventure of a saga, the delicacy of a porcelain vase, the emotion of a symphony – all forms of art, all forms of expression. Art, as Oscar Wilde explains it, is the “most intense mode of individualism that the world has ever known” (Wilde, The Soul of a Man Under Socialism). Art allows one to express themselves through a thousand mediums, using all five senses. It allows words that are not meant to be spoken, to be expressed, and ideas not meant to be thought, imagined. Perhaps the most prevalent form of art in today's society is literature, as is the most direct form of art.
Throughout the ages art has played a crucial role in life. Art is universal and because art is everywhere, we experience it on a daily basis. From the houses we live in (architecture) to the movies we see (theatre) to the books that we read (literature). Even in ancient culture art has played a crucial role. In prehistoric times cave dwellers drew on the wall of caves to record history. In biblical times paintings recorded the life and death of Christ. Throughout time art has recorded history. Most art is created for a specific reason or purpose, it has a way of expressing ideas and beliefs, and it can record the experiences of all people.
