The Vaporia Kingdoms grew silent. Such a kingdom of rebellious and withdrawn nature would usually not worry the Pegasus Tribes of Equestria, for Vapor’s departure was one of hatred and a wanton desire for independence. In fact, no one truly knew where the rebel kingdom sat, past a vague reference of being very far to the northwest of Equestria. Even less is known of their fate, as the skies and seas that separate either kingdom are chaotic and treacherous. Messages that would arrive had to be dated a year or more in advance, and multiple teams of couriers were sent as a means of ensuring it’s delivery. The intercontinental skies were untamed and wild, harboring only punishing wind currents and an even more punishing ocean beneath it. To be sent to search for Vaporia was to be sentenced to an unknown fate, as none ever returned. Despite such grim outlooks, the Pegasus Tribes still …show more content…
Flightless equines were an uncommon sight in the cloud settlements, but were accommodated for should they decide to reside. Spells can be casted to allow a wingless being to walk atop the clouds, though only for some time. This meant that most cartographers or navigators had to keep a timer, and recast whenever necessary. Enchantments can be made on the horseshoes, but are mostly considered unnecessarily precautious and expensive. A zebra with enchanted horseshoes, however, was very uncommon. A striped head poked out from the heavy coat that obscured the rest of their body, glancing at their surroundings as they headed to the central spire of Cloudsdale. Funnel clouds arched down from the very ends of the Cumulonimbus spire, serving as both a lookout tower and an imposing castle. The perimeter of the cloudy castle was surrounded with scattered chunks of stormclouds, all of which thrummed an rumbled with raging tempests. Touching one would trigger an entire storm’s worth of lightning striking on a single
Bess beetles range in size all the way from 21 millimeters to 80 millimeters. The beetles are named after the French word baiser, which means “to kiss”, due to the fact that they often make a smooching sound with their legs. They have a small horn that protrudes from their head, and use their antennae to drive them forward when experiencing new smells. Though the beetles may look quite menacing, they are surprisingly docile. They enjoy feasting on rotten wood, moss, and adult beetle fecal matter after it has been partially digested by bacteria. A scientific experiment was conducted to test these beetle’s pulling power in relation to their mass. The hypothesis stated,

Odysseus comes up with a detailed plan to ensure victory for the Greeks to finally end the war between Greece and Troy. He orders his soldiers to construct a gigantic wooden horse containing a hollow stomach. He explains that men.from the Greek army will hide inside the hollow stomach and wait until they are released inside the city of Troy. Odysseus not only thinks up the unique plan of the horse, but he also composes a muse to get the horse into Troy. The plan is to leave one man behind with a tale full of hardships and sorrows, allowing the Trojans to connect with him. Once the Trojans feel sympathetic, they will allow him, Sinon, access into the city. Sinon will also need to get the horse into the city by explaining to the Trojans that the horse is an offering to Minerva. and if the offering is rejected, they will be greatly punished by the Gods. When access is granted to the horse and Sinon, the Greek soldiers tactfully wait inside the horse’s hollow gut until all of the Trojan citizens are asleep, then they destroy the city of Troy. Proteus stated, in Menelaos's tale, '"But for you, Menelaos, O fostered of Zeus, it is not the gods' will that you shall die and go to your end in horse-pasturing Argos, but the immortals will convey you to the Elysian Field, and the limits of the earth, where fair-haired Rhadamanthys is, and where there is made
Tropicalia is not only know as a form of music in Brazil but as a rebellion. Its theme of cultural non conformity was strengthened by the idea that Brazil had lost its way. Tropicalia took a stand against the social and musical hierarchy of Brazil. Though mainly known as a form of Brazilian pop music Tropicalia is deeply rooted in the political and cultural background of Brazil.
Is being numinous more satisfying when you don't have moral concepts to add on to that belief?
They were then attacked by stage men, they killed one man and got most of their goods, this was very sad for them as this was the only supply they needed to survive on. They then took the longboat and decided that they would rather die at sea then die with those men. They were on the longboat for nine days and survived on figues and wine. They were suffering as the tropical sun burned their skin and the salt water was deterring their skin. They decided to go back to the coast. As they climbed the rocky mountain, they came upon other nomades, the nomades were fighting against each other to decided who was going to possess these sailors. The sailors were stripped of their clothes as they were very valuable. Riley eventually went to SituHamet (a nomade) and tried to convince him to buy all of his men and to transport them 800 miles across the Zahara to Essaouira to sell them. As they go, Riley and SituHamet develop a friendship and a mutual respect, Riley then realised that SituHamet can navigate by seing the stars and smelling the sand, and that he can find water; and SituHamet realises that Riley can motivate all of the crew even though they are dehydrated and
As the ancient civilizations of the west grew their empires, they encountered something so powerful, beastly, and strong that no man could hold down with his own two bare hands, nor could they be tamed. As centuries go on, men learned the ways of the horse and learned to ride upon their backs. They found them to be a key component in transportation, carrying goods, and warfare. As time went on, for every footprint of a human left behind in the wet mud, there was a hoof print not far from the footprint. Ancient Greeks believed that the horse was a gift from the gods, and they were greatly valued in their society.

During this short voyage I saw the lightnings playing on the summit of Mount Blanc in the most beautiful figures. The storm appeared to approach rapidly; and, on landing, I ascended a low hill, that I might observe its progress. It advanced; the heavens were clouded, and I soon felt the rain coming slowly in large drops, but its violence quickly increased. (49)
In Pouliuli, a novel written by Albert Wendt, Faleasa Osovae awakens to find the life he’s been living all along is a mere façade. Pouliuli invites readers into the Samoan community of Malaelua, which is turned topsy-turvy when Faleasa misleads his aiga and community by acting maniacal. Albert Wendt ties a famous Malaelua saga about a mythological hero named Pili to Faleasa Osovae’s life. In the myth as well as in Faleasa’s story, they both had the same goal, which was to live the rest of their life “free”. To accomplish this goal, they both had to accomplish three tasks. Pilis’ tasks were to eat a mountain of fish which the giant’s had caught that day, to race the giants down a river, and make himself disappear. Faleasas’ tasks were to destroy Filemoni, Make Moaula the new leader, and remove Sau and Vaelupa as council leader. Of course they couldn’t have done these tasks alone so both of them enlisted help from friends. Pili enlisted the help of Tausamitele, Lelemalosi, and Pouliuli. Faleasa enlisted the help of his long time friend Laaumatua and his son Moaula. Finally to get the freedom they so wished for they had to complete one last task. In Pili’s case it was to divide his kingdom among his children while Faleasa had to remove Malaga as congress of the village. In the end, they both end up with nothing. Both ending up in the darkness of Pouliuli.
I was a member of the ‘Ward Union Pony Club’ from 2004 to 2007 where I gained most of my equine experience and understanding of the field. During my time spent as a club member, I carried out frequent tests on my husbandry skills and acquired a substantial knowledge of (got a lot of information) about the anatomy of the horse. I also went to ‘Pony Club Camp’ where I attended classes on equine husbandry and care.
Each prisoner had a transformative moment throughout their time at Sobibor that would push them to their ultimate decision to escape. Usually such moments represented a realization that death was almost certain if they were to stay, others, that letting the world know was necessary. But the common thread through them all was that to live was an act of defiance.
