It is easy to overlook just how much communication impacts the lives of others as for many people, including myself, speaking comes naturally. Throughout my time in the nursing program, I have been taught to think like a nurse and with that learned to talk like one too. With that being said, writing the Therapeutic Communication Skit has allowed me to see that communication in nursing requires an equal balance of medical terminology and simplicity in relation to proper timing. If nurses are unable to communicate with their patient then they would not be able to have a relationship with them. Some individuals have different behaviors where they try to express themselves to others without using spoken words, this is non verbal communication.
