Understanding Depression in Marriage
Marriage is the joining of two people as partners to form a formal, recognizable union. It is the lifelong commitment of two people through a bond. Its practice, however, is often interrupted by divorce. When the two are in a relationship, a lot happens and changes. This may include personality change, body age and romantic love waxes and wanes. There are a lot of controversies surrounding marriage, and they involve ideas on fairness, cultural beliefs and traditions concerning religious and legal issues. The controversies extend to human rights too. Many people suffer from marital distress, and this usually leads to depression. Depression in marriage further worsens the distress in a cycle that suffuses the marriage with pessimism, resentment, and anger.
