who he was. After meeting the assistant, Uncle Monty himself became suspicious and decided to rip up Stefano ticket so that he could not go on the trip with them.
The next morning the children woke ready for the trip only to find that Uncle Monty was dead. Stephano had claimed that he was bitten by a snake but they were still going to Peru where he would then kidnap them, get their money, and kill them. Forced to leave with Stefano on their way to the loading dock they get into a car crash. The other care involved turned out to be Mr. Poe who was on his way to bring their luggage left behind after getting out of Olaf’s custody. Stephano explains how Uncle Monty had died from a snake bite and lies saying that they were going into town to get a doctor. The kids try to tell Mr. Poe that Stefano was Olaf in disguise, but the eye tattoo was missing when asked to lift up his pants leg. Mr. Poe insisted that they go back to the house and call a doctor instead. Arriving back at the house the doctor finally comes and looks at the body. He then places Uncle Monty’s body into his car saying he will do a further autopsy back at his lab. They began to have a long discussion on who would ride in which car since Mr. Poe’s car no longer worked and the kids refused to ride with Stefano alone. While the doctor, Stephano, and Mr. Poe sat and thought of a plan the kids wondered off to come up with a plan to
prove Stefano was Olaf. They then came up with the idea to snoop through his luggage where they found stolen papers and a needle used to inject Uncle Monty with poison. When they presented this information, Mr. Poe then asked Stefano to lift up his pants leg where he began to rub off the makeup that covered the tattoo. After getting caught the doctor offered to take Stefano in to jail. When leaving they discovered that the doctor was actually one of Stefano’s friends. Mr. Poe refused to chase them so that no one would get hurt letting them get away. The children once again become orphans sent to live with another relative.

The article briefly goes over The Wizard of Oz, both the film and the book, and discusses how they fit into Campbell’s hero’s journey. Emerson summarizes Campbell’s idea of the hero’s journey for the reader, then splits Dorothy’s journey into three phases. The first phase is her travels on the yellow brick road where in the film she meets the Scarecrow, Tin Man, and Cowardly Lion, and in the book Dorothy and her companions overcome natural obstacles. The second phase begins when they meet the Wizard of Oz in the Emerald City, who sets them on a trial before they can receive their respective gifts. The pinnacle of this trial is the face off with the Wicked Witch of the West, where she is defeated when Dorothy throws a bucket of water on her
They were enjoying a pleasant discussion until the Socs surrounded them, barricading every potential escape route. They started towards Ponyboy and submerged his head under the fountain, suffocating him. Johnny was frightened and jabbed the Soc in the abdomen, killing him. The boys were both aghast by what had just occurred and proceeded to ask Dally for help. Dally aided them with an escape route, some cash, and a jacket, hoping that it was enough. The boys journeyed to the small town of Winndrixvill as fugitives. There, they resided at an abandoned church for 5 days. On the sixth day, the boys went to the supermarket to buy some necessities, however when they returned a problem awaited. The church had been set on fire and there were children trapped inside. Ponyboy and Johnny dashed inside, and began to rescue the children one by one, until they were all out of the building. However, one boy remained, Johnny. Before he could even blink, the roof collapsed and he was trapped under the
Homelessness poses a serious threat in all countries as people are exposed in an unsafe environment and try to live on change. “Do you have any spare change?” No I don’t have spare change, get a job you animal. We see people all over the streets holding signs and bringing their children to ask for change but during that whole time they could be doing something productive, like getting a job. Homelessness is a problem everywhere and its worse in other countries but here in America we have it rough. We have the means to fix homelessness with giving jobs to them in the fields of science and energy.

The 1950’s were full of music, whether it was classical or jazz. Chet Baker a well-known jazz trumpeter grew up in Los Angeles, California. Baker became renowned in the jazz scene, but ultimately let his drug abuse overtake him. Coincidentally, Herb Alpert, a famous classical trumpeter also grew up in Los Angeles around the same time as Chet Baker. Alpert may have had a similar upbringing, but he turned out to be completely different from Baker. Alpert was a philanthropic man and was respected by countless people. So what made these two musicians who grew up in similar conditions end up so oppositely? Their childhoods, success, and also the genre of music they played may have contributed to their differences.
All of a sudden the three men got into a fight and then Injun Joe killed Dr. Robinson. Muff Potter was unconscious at that time, because he was knocked down. When Potter regained consciousness, Injun Joe told Potter that he killed Dr. Robinson. Potter was nervous from the time they got there, and he believed Injun Joe. Injun Joe told him that the best he can do right now, is to run away, and hide; and when he met someone, he should act normal. Then Injun Joe left the graveyard, too. Tom and Huckleberry saw it all, and were witnesses. But they were too scared that Injun Joe would come back for revenge if they told the people in the town what happened. The whole town went to the graveyard the next day, because Dr. Robinson was found dead there. Tom and Huckleberry went too. When they arrived there they also saw Muff Potter. A man who lived near the graveyard told them that it was Potter, who did it. His dog barked that night and when the man looked to see what it was, he recognized Potter. Tom did not want to go to schoo...
Auntie Mame is one of my all-time favorite movies. I have seen the movie at least one hundred times and adore it more after each viewing. The movie is, I believe, a lesson in chronological time manipulation in film. The movie begins as young Patrick comes to live with his eccentric aunt, growing into a young man, then a married father.
Finally, management of organizational change and stress. We first began with diversity. After conversing for a bit I came to the justification that Mr. Dearing had the Foster Mutual Adaptation option. In this option, people are willing to adapt or change their views for the sake of creating positive relationships with others. This implies that employees and management alike must be willing to accept differences and, most important, agree that everyone and everything is open to change (Kinicki, p.135). He implemented this by hiring people of all color and race and not treating them any differently. He accepts and encourages differences among his employees because this will increase the chance of someone else having the ability to solve certain issues. One of the biggest ways, Mr. Dearing handles his employee's stress is by allowing flexible schedules to all employees. This allows employees to be stress-free and more careful when on the job. This not
Peanuts, often confused as being a nut are actually legumes. Like other legumes they grow underground (1). Peanuts started to be widely produced and consumed in the United States in the early 1900s (1). Today the United States is one of the top growers of peanuts (1). Much of their popularity is due to the fact that they are a cheap affordable source of protein (1). One ounce of peanuts contains just over 7 grams of protein (1). Peanuts are used in many different styles of cooking. Peanut oil is becoming increasingly popular for cooking because it has a high cooking temperature and is high in mono and polyunsaturated fats (1). Despite the popularity of peanuts in our diets today, and the positive health benefits of consuming them, peanuts are the most common allergy causing foods (3).
In this piece of work I will be writing about the film ‘Forrest Gump’. In this essay I will be writing about Forrest’s life journey as a child to an adult and how his life can be compared to a box of chocolates.
