The Only Truth We Need is Music Music is a powerful tool that many people can use in their everyday life. Whether they are happy, mad, sad music is always their for people. Yet there are many false accusations that are revolving around music and the community surrounding it. In this paper I will be discussing what truth and post-truth are, and how they are related to music. I will also be discussing the false claims made about music with personal experience as well as an interview with someone who is well-known and respected in the music community.

In other words, post-truth is when facts are twisted so that they become more appealing to the public even though they are not the complete truth. A good example of this is that a lot of people according to blog.kennedyviolins.com is that a lot of individuals think that music without lyrics is boring and not enjoyable to listen to. While pop and folk music are often written with the same three chords and simple rhymes, he would almost argue that because pop music is “boring” in its composition, it’s easier to listen to. He believes that this is the reason why classical concert-goers sit silently while viewing and listening to a live orchestra; there are so many nuances in the music requiring focus and concentration to absorb. I’m here to say that it absolutely wrong. A lot of people say that it is in fact at some times more simplistic to use a computer, rather than spend countless hours or even a lifetime trying to learn how to play an instrument. Many artist, and musicians say that both, if done right, achieve the same goal in the end. Computer-engineered music is in itself considered an art. The way an artist can manipulate the sound the exact way he or she wants it to be is fascinating to watch. I even have some personal experience using the application Garageband, and to me it was fascinating to watch all the voice parts line up, and listen to up to ten voice-parts created by one voice. Another big post-truth conception about music that is out there is that music without lyrics is considered boring now. Some may consider classical music like Beethoven or Bach’s to be an example of this. While it doesn’t have any lyrics it is still intriguing to listen to. Although it may not be as easy to listen to as pop or modern music.
