Often we learn from characters mistakes in short stories like in“Mother and Daughter” And “The Scholarship Jacket” both stories contain trust issues. In the story “Mother and Daughter,” They had trust issues, I sympathize this because of their pranking issues they don’t trust each other. This is why you should be able to trust a trustworthy full person. Never should you have trust in a person who lies. In the short story “ Mother and Daughter,” the Mother would always prank the Daughter, because they have trust issues for example, when the Daughter had told to wake her up after the horror movie is over. She pranked her and left the daughter on the coach for the night. But she woke up in the middle of the night wondering where she was. Then she noticed that her Mom forgot to take her back to her bedroom. So then she went to her Mom's room and put a cup of water on top the alarm clock, so when the Mom hit …show more content…

During second grade it became clear that Mark was not doing well at his public school, which had large class sizes. He got hearing aids but even though it made everything louder it didn’t help him understand what was being said. That put all the responsibility on his shoulders, that if he still didn’t understand the teachers it was...
...eral topic of school. The sister strives to graduate and go to school even though she is poor while her brother blames the school for him dropping out and not graduating. “I got out my social studies. Hot legs has this idea of a test every Wednesday” (118). This demonstrates that she is driven to study for class and get good grades while her brother tries to convince her that school is worth nothing and that there is no point in attending. “‘Why don’t you get out before they chuck you out. That’s all crap,’ he said, knocking the books across the floor. ‘You’ll only fail your exam and they don’t want failures, spoils their bloody numbers. They’ll ask you to leave, see if they don’t’” (118). The brother tries to convince his sister that school is not a necessity and that living the way he does, being a drop out living in a poverty stricken family is the best thing.
Another detail that shows deception is the fact that her father lured her into doing crude acts, such as him wanting her to steal her mother’s safety
Deception binds the characters of the Joy Luck Club together. In the Joy Luck Club, Amy Tan depicts deception at almost every turn in the novel. Mothers often help their daughters through deceptive comments; husbands hide secrets from their wives through deceptive acts. Even best friends deceive each other as they struggle for one reason or another. Throughout the story, deception is an irreplaceable tool for parenting; for attempting to keep marriages together, or maintaining friendships. From time to time, it grows out of control from a benign lecture to a life changing scam.

When someone says that they will do something one trusts them to do it, and when they do not that is betraying the trust that has been placed on them. This is the betrayal of lying. In today 's society people lie all the time to everybody and everything. IN the movie Maid In Manhattan which is a modern day retelling of the Cinderella story the main character lies a lot. She claims to be someone she is not, saying that she is rich and powerful when she is truthfully only a maid. When the male character asks her to dance she goes with the intent of telling him the truth but ends up being intimate with him. This is a large betrayal as she not only lied to him about who she was but she also used him, before planning on leaving him. This is a betrayal of trust and in the movie it shows how people react to these betrayals of trust. People react by leaving, not communicating with the liar, and not trusting them
Infidelity, unfaithfulness, and modesty outline the surface of the play Betrayal written by Harold Pinter. From afar the relationships between the trio of characters seems normal but; when taking a deeper look, the correlations are noticeably dysfunctional. The three main characters, Emma, Jerry and Robert interact kindly, never seem to interrupt one another, ask innocent questions and do not, generally, inspect over much the answers. They help each other over the occasional awkward moments and talk when necessary. But these characters rejoice when knowing something that someone else does not and that knowledge is sometimes translated into power. Though it takes time, sometimes even years to breach things under the surface eventually and unexpectedly they come to light. Finally, when everyone knows everything, and the game has reached an ending point, life continues back on its normal cyclical routine. In Betrayal the dramatic scenario of the love triangle goes through many storms of deceit that test the characters marital relationships, faithfulness, and allows them to changes their inner persona.
The mom finally gave in and pulled up a chair. The children got quiet fast and huddled together under the covers in anticipation. The mom took a deep breath knowing that the kids would have a hard time processing the story that was about to be told.
To gain an appreciation for the significance of honesty and trust, consider what our day-to-day life would be if we couldn’t trust anyone. We purchase a bottle of a hundred folic acid tablets from our drugstore. How many of us bother to count the tablets to ensure that we in fact received a hundred? We drive into a gasoline station and the meter reads that we put ten gallons of gasoline into our fuel tank. When was the last time anyone of us bothered to verify whether in fact we received ten gallons instead of nine and a half? We paid seven dollars for a one-pound package of steak. How many of us bother to verify that it was in fa...
