Which Is the Best
Was orange juice always just here? What is the difference between the different types? Why does everyone like it cold? Is it a sustainable product the way Tropicana is running their processing plant? Are there ethical issues with orange juice production?I began to wonder one day as I was looking in the store, in the orange juice aisle. This paper is a journey into orange juice through the popular Orange juice company, Tropicana .I chose this company because this was a juice that I had grown up with .I hope to be able to answer there questions for myself and you ,the reader.
To start orange juice was not always here. It came out of an advertising campaign in the 1920’s. (1)The California Fruit Growers (now known as Sunkist) had been producing too many oranges for the current market. Their supply and demand ratio was off. They needed to find a new use for oranges besides just peeling and consuming them .There was too many oranges being wasted. Orange juice takes three to four oranges for each cup of juice. It was an effective means to use extra oranges.(2)
Through advertising, Sunkist convinced the general public they should drink at least one cup a day. It was called the Drink an orange campaign. The benefits of drinking orange , like today, focused on improving one’s health.
Orange juice has a lot of benefits for the body.(3) It contains vitamin c, which is an antioxidant, helps to boost the absorption of iron when combined with foods and is a great tasting away to combat the common cold. There is Folate that helps with DNA formation and helps to lower homocysteine, the chemical associated with heart disease and memory impairment. There is research being done on phytonutrients that are also present in orange juice. They are naturally occurring chemicals such as beta-carotene which is what gives orange juice it’s color. They are considered antioxidants, like vitamin c.There is still research being done on the ones in orange juice and what a required daily requirement should be. Potassium ,another nutrient in orange juice, helps with the fluid - electrolyte balance in cells. The juice contains thiamin and niacin, which helps to convert food to a form of energy the body can use. Vitamin B6 is present and helps in the formation of hemoglobin, the part of the red blood cells that carries oxygen throughout the body.
Gatorade is one of many sports drinks that is out in the market. It was first made back in 1956 by a group of scientists in the University of Florida. The main reason Gatorade was made in the first place was to help the athletes of the university by replacing the body fluids that they lost during competitions especially in the hot weather of southern Florida. In a competition athletes lose water, carbohydrates and electrolytes through lots of sweating so Gatorade’s first priority was to replace them and re-energize the athletes. The first ever bottles of Gatorade that were created did not contain as much ingredients as todays Gatorades, and at first 10 players from the University’s Football team tested the drinks. It didn’t take long for the effects to show and the team quickly started to win their games. After the team’s results started to get better, Gatorade gained lots of attention from around the athletic community and after a few short years it was the official drink of the NFL, NBA, MLB, PGA, AVP, and the MLS. After all the l success, it was bought by Pepsi Company in 2001. This meant that it would no longer distribute its products to only the USA and Canada, but to the entire world and since then Gatorade products have been sent to almost 80 different countries. But the big question now, is that does it really help athletes? Was this the reason behind all the success of the Florida Gators through the 60’s?
Juice fasting has become very popular as a way to better one's health and lose weight. Juice fasting, also known as juice cleansing, is a controversial fasting method and a detox diet. It involves the consumption of only fruit and vegetable juices to obtain nutrition. Juice fasts may last anywhere from a few days to several weeks. Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead is a documentary that follows the 60-day journey of Australian Joe Cross across the United States as he undergoes a juice fast to regain his health. At the end of his fast Joe had lost 100 pounds and discontinued all medications. During his road-trip Joe meets Phil Staples, an obese truck driver with the same autoimmune disease Joe has. Ever since 1965 Gatorade has been one of the top selling energy drinks in America. Gatorade has come a long way since its start and is now the official drink of several professional sport leagues. The company brings in over three billion dollars worth of revenue every year mostly due to their skill in advertising which is a crucial part of a company of such magnitude and Gatorade is known for their persuasive commercials. In the commercial chosen, several stellar professional athletes give the viewers details of some of their greatest failures. This caused each of them to work harder and become the athlete they are today by training harder and making them more determined. The Gatorade commercial that was chosen is a very effective ad because
A job analysis a great way to analyzed whether or not the individual is fit for the position. By creating a questionnaire that relates to the daily tasks for the position will narrow done the selection process into a smaller portion. The information given from the Job Analysis is also used to create a Job Description and Job Specification. “Job description identifies the tasks, duties, and responsibilities. The “job specification list the KSAOCs that individuals need to posses to perform a job successfully”(Pynes, 2013). After an individual is hired we must train that individual with the proper format in order for them to understand the concept of work. In this process I will develop a training program that includes all the organizations policies, procedures and daily tasks.
Trait theory based on research that was focused on identifying specific physical characteristics as well as personal attributes that may be associated with leader effectiveness. Stogdill (1974) analyzed and synthesized 287 studies on leadership traits conducted between 1904 and 1970 and identified several characteristics associated with effective leaders. These included: good interpersonal skills; self-confidence and achievement-orientation; persistence in the pursuit of goals; ability to cope with interpersonal stress and tolerate frustration; ability to engage in creative problem solving. Trait studies showed that other characteristics that distinguish good from poor leaders included integrity and honesty, a desire to lead and job- related knowledge. Moreover, there has been an increasing focus on identifying the relationships between leadership and the Big Five model of personality. Transactional or transformational theory, focus on leader vision and ability to inspire followers (transformational); leader clarifies performance criteria and ‘rewards’ subordinates for meeting performance expectations (transactional). Path-goal theory focuses on the way that leaders’ behaviours can influence subordinate performance and satisfaction. It draws upon the expectancy theory of motivation to explain a leader’s impact on subordinates. Even though, whatever the theory, there are common aspects. Result of two factors, leadership style and situational favourability, straightly define success of a group. First, depends on the multiple factors such as: character, ethnicity, social background, education, experience, and culture. Inconsiderable of these factors, it seems the leadership approaches have been segregated in to two broad groups: relationship oriented, and task oriented. Second, depends on: leader-follower relations, task structure, and the position
The trait theory of leadership is the idea that people are born with certain character traits. This is the style that is attributed to a leader who others see as “a born leader”, it gives more credence to the qualities a person is born with rather than what they develop or the relationships they develop with followers, hence trait leadership focuses on the leader and not the followers or the situation. This theory assumes that if you could identify people with the correct traits, you will be able to identify leaders.(Roberts). Good leadership traits include:
For more than 50 years, Gatorade, America’s premier sports beverage has proven that their product is vital when it comes to hydration because it effectively replaces the fluids and electrolytes lost through sweat and replenishes the large amounts of carbohydrates that players’ bodies use for energy. Since the dawn of the media age, Gatorade has been on the forefront of promoting their product through advertisements, the main linkage between business and consumers in any field or market. One of the main reasons the company has retained this respectable dominance for the entirety of the twenty-first century is their ability to attract and retain their audience through their popular commercials. These virtual ads from Gatorade almost always feature
Companies utilize different marketing strategies to appeal to their target audience. The methods they use to market their products usually reflects the target audience’s preferences or needs. Gatorade was invented at the University of Florida in 1965 by a team of researchers. They discovered nutrients were not being replenished when the school’s football team competed and formulated a solution to the problem. Today Gatorade primarily targets athletic or physically active individuals, especially professional athletes. Over time, Gatorade has become one of the most popular and leading sports drink companies in the world. Many people recognize what Gatorade is and what they do to help individuals who need the extra replenishment so they can continue
Vitamin C also known as ascorbic acid is needed for growth and maintenance of healthy tissues, especially skin, blood vessels, bones, gums, teeth. Vitamin C aids in resistance against infection and healing of wounds. It also helps the body absorb iron from food. Vitamin C can be found in green vegetables, potatoes, tomatoes and citrus fruits such as oranges and lemon. A lack of vitamin C can cause scurvy, iron deficiency and poor wound healing. A healthy diet should include a high amount of vitamin C because the human body cannot produce its own vitamin C.

Collecting evidence from a crime scene is a crucial aspect of solving crimes. Before evidence can be seized, there must first be a court order approving the search of the crime scene and the seizure of the evidence found at the scene. Standard protocol for officers is for them to always use latex gloves, avoid plastic bags, double wrap small objects, package each object separately, and to collect as much evidence as possible. It is better to have too much evidence than to not have enough. There are countless amounts of evidence that can be found at a crime scene.

The launch of Mecca-Cola was a success, perhaps because it is providing a fresh alternative to common consumerism, while using political and social charity leveraging advantages. Nevertheless, Mecca-Cola is vulnerable to competition (specific target base, low entry barrier for me-too products), and its positioning appeal may wear out if world politics change. Mecca-Cola could be a sustainable business if it emphasizes on universal values that appeal to a broader, sustainable consumer base, rather than just another Anti-America alternative product.

It has been a long time, the name Coca Cola can almost be regarded as a symbol of consumers’ culture of Americans and people around the world with its interesting history. With a history of over 100 years of existence, Coca Cola was first founded by pharmacist John Stithy Pemberton who served in the Confederate Army during the American Civil War. He created Coca Cola to be like a painkiller, healing to treat his war injury. S.Pemberton says “Coke also can cure headache, nervousness, depression and addictions.” As understood by the American people at that time, People believed that Coke is an oral drug. Meanwhile, Coke had a new face when the recipe of Coca Cola was completed by accident. A bar employee, Jacobs, confused the Coca Cola syrup and mixed it with soda water instead of ordinary recipe of John Stithy Pemberton and as the result, Jacobs corrected Pemberton's formula. Nowadays, Coca Cola brand is a top selling soft drink and everyone in the world loves it, but everything has two sides to it. Although Coke is the current popular beverage it still has harmful health risks if we consume too much.
