Ever since I was little I have always wanted to travel to Australia because I’d love to see The Great Barrier Reef, it would be fun to see all the wildlife Australia has to offer, and I would love to see The Sydney Opera House. Firstly, if I would go to Australia I would like to explore The Great Barrier Reef. It would be an amazing life changing experience to go scuba diving at The Great Barrier Reef because, it is the world's largest reef system it's about 2300 kilometers long, The Great Barrier Reef is also 25,000,000 years old, and I also think it would be amazing to witness the beauty of it in person. Also, I would love to meet some cool animals like koalas, kangaroos, wombats, etc. I have always been a huge animal person and it has always
An extraordinary 65.3 million Refugees have been displaced around the world. In 2015 Australia took 12,000 of them. But where are Australians placing these Refugees? Australia is deporting these Refugees to a third country, either on Manus or Nauru Island. These Islands have reports of inhumane and cruel treatment towards Refugees For those who aren’t fully aware of what Refugees are; they are people whom come to Australia illegally without the appropriate visas. They cannot obtain these visas because of the reasons they are fleeing their country … their Government. None the less it should be the Australian Government they fear. The concepts of refugees are kept hidden away from us by our own Government in reflection of their Governments own self-interest. This tragedy is classified as a modern day witch hunt.
Australia is a country with a wide range of landscapes from the rough red dirt of The Outback to the magnificent beauty of the tropical rainforests and our gorgeous white sands of our beaches. Australia is travel heaven, so many of our advertisements for Tourism Australia proudly focuses on these natural wonders and we don’t blame them. One piece of Australia that earns it worldwide appreciation is its spectacular scenery, especially the diversity of the landscape and the abundance of its colour. Australian landmarks, including The Great Barrier Reef and Uluru are just truly remarkable. International
As patriotic Australians we pride ourselves to be a nation that accepts and respects the beliefs of all cultures, but on this historical day majority of Australians tend to forget the true meaning behind the celebration. If you ask today’s society, what they did this Australia day mass numbers would respond with “binged on alcohol” and “indulged in a barbecue.” Consequently, this day cannot be called a national celebration when some of our fellow Australians are grieving while others are out celebrating an occasion they know little about. Giving due regard to the indigenous people and their mostly negative perspective on this issue, should be a priority. A new date, not the 26th of January should be established, as rather than unite, it seems

Whoever came up with "Where there 's a will, there 's a way" knew what they were talking about. I 've wanted to study abroad for a while but the thought of not being able to afford it left me feeling quite discouraged. Financing for study abroad is basically a full-time job. For example, the program I am going with costs $17,650 just for tuition and housing. Then you add in the cost for plane tickets, visa, passport, meals, and personal stuff. As you can guess it is a lot. Yet, here I am!
Have you ever wondered how some athletes have gotten so good at a certain sport? Have you ever thought about what they did in order for them to get this good? For some the answer is simple; workout and train. But for others the answer is different; the use of performance enhancing drugs such as steroids. There are some people that argue that steroids should be legalized and allowed in professional sports. Other people argue that steroids should not be allowed. Today I am going to state my opinion and justify my reason. Steroids should not be allowed in professional sports because it can be very dangerous to the athlete’s health, it is a way to gain and un-fair advantage and it can be dangerous in both social and physical aspects.
Eggs came first. Millions of years before mammals, eggs existed, their hard shells unlike her mammalian sister who waddles around, heavily crippled with the burden of her womb. Eggs conferred evolutionary advantage.
Illegal immigrants are makers, not takers. Many American citizens see these approximate 11 million illegal immigrants in a negative view and don’t want them living in their communities. However, many of these American citizens don’t know why illegal immigrants come here and what good they actually do to this country. Illegal immigration should be allowed because their quality of life is improved, they help the economy, and they bring job growth.
I have heard many great things about studying abroad from family and friends. I hear things, including: studying abroad allows one to experience another culture directly, helps you develop new skills that you cannot learn in a classroom, and also helps one learn about themselves. Listening to the people close to me talk about how amazing their time abroad, was made me realize it is something I desire to do. I know this opportunity will be extremely beneficial to me for numerous reasons: I want to learn more about who I am and my values, I have never been off of the continent before, it is a great thing to put on my résumé and will enhance employment opportunities. I will value studying abroad in Italy because this experience will assist me
Imagine if you were unable to celebrate one of Australia’s most patriotic days. If instead of celebrating with family and friends in the most traditional and nationalistic ways possible, day bought you sorrow and grief, because of what was taken away from you and your people on that day. Your history, your tradition, your culture, your own people. Shouldn’t you be able to celebrate Australia Day like white Australia does, without the ramifications of the past? Countless Indigenous peoples are still recovering from the chain of events that were set in motion on that day in 1788.
Refugee arrivals on Australian shores, particularly those arriving irregularly by sea, have over the past years been a matter of significant political and public concern. Australia has a long history of accepting refugees for resettlement, however despite this the Australian Government has recognised the magnitude of these global trends, noting that the number of asylum seekers and refugees in Australia are small, at its peak only receiving eighteen thousand people illegally by sea, compared to those seeking asylum in other parts of the world. There is still a large debate on the global stage as to whether the current Australian laws relating to the acceptance and resettlement of refugees and asylum seekers, as a party of the CRC (Convention on the Rights of Children), the ICCPR and the Refugee Convention, is fulfilling
First of all I really enjoyed reading the story of “Ligeia”, by Edgar Allen Poe. The story stood out to me and kept me interested and stuck on the reading the whole time. The narrator starts the story with trying to recall how he met his beautiful wife, Ligeia, he recalls certain traits abut her, like her height, her beauty and some unique talents she possessed, but not how they met. The narrator can’t even remember her last name, but he remembers her most well defined feature “the raven-black, the glossy, the luxuriant and naturally-curling tresses” (Poe 2); her hair was most memorable for him. As time passes in their marriage, Ligeia becomes ill and asks the narrator to recite an odd poem on her deathbed, and she dies.
I. This year a study conducted by UC Merced discovered that 97% of study abroad students found employment within 12 months of graduation, when only 49% of college graduates found employment in the same period. (UC Merced, 2016)
There are thousands of things I love, but vacation is on the number one list. Many times over the years I have taken vacation time; It was only a while back, when I realized how amaz-ing, and the great value it gives the sole and body. There have been times when I felt not wanting to leave my work, whether it’s financial problems or among other things. Other times I thought my work was at a decisive juncture and it wouldn 't get accomplished without me. All profession-als or employees know that the money does not just make itself unless they are there to make sure everything is going according to their policy. I know I am not alone in making excuses not to take a vacation. When I asked a couple of my co-workers, they also agreed on not even taking a week off for the entire year, some even included holidays.
Many don’t realize that the road to success isn’t so much a road as it is a winding,
