Treloar's stomach dropped, and he continued to speak through the lump that had formed in his throat. What he'd originally envisaged as a night of celebration, with Lexi's escape from the mansion, evidence of her Father's depravities in hand, was swiftly moving further away from that with each passing second. Lexi's expression remained neutral, however, the manner in which she crossed her arms over her chest conveyed a different story, and elicited a sensation of nausea in Richard. As did the recollection of his lover's words on the night of their reunion, where she'd implied he'd come to extort her with the very photo's he now spoke of. One's that he no longer possessed, having years ago permanently deleted the images in an angry, drunken …show more content…
If a hole had opened up in the floor at that moment, he'd have gladly crawled into it, and Richard averted his gaze to avoid what may have been simply imagined accusation in Lexi's expression and demeanour, in order to regain composure. "I don't want you to, Lexi." Forcing his eyes back up, his newly refocused didn't waver when he approached to grip both of her shoulders, and locked it on her face. "It's only a suggestion, a possible way out of this mess, but you're right, we have no idea what he'd do with those images. He could run to your Father, and blow us out of the water completely." The Hacker had decided honesty was the best policy, and not to sugar-coat his words. "Or, he could agree to the deal, live up to his assurances, and secure our future. There's no way in hell, I'd allow Levime to obtain the rights to the photo's before we were assured access to the film, so would it hurt to contact him, and gauge if he's even interested? And, if he is, in the grand scheme of what we're trying to achieve, does it really matter if your naked images end up plastered all over the damn internet. Who fucking
He turned his head toward me and peered at me through swollen eyes. “I begged her not to go with him,” he said quietly. “Do you hear me, I begged her!”
“Well, I would try to get them to stop, but if that didn’t work I would go help him.”
“ Yes Jonas, to truly reach Elsewhere, you must embrace what took the rest there” she gulped.

In Tim O’Brien’s novel, “The Things They Carried,” imaginations can be both beneficial and corrosive. This novel consist of story truth and real truth. Throughout the novel, imagination plays a big role. Tim O’Brien wrote his book about the war mainly based on his memory of the war. He did not remember every details of the war, thus he made up some false details to the stories to make it seems more interesting. He wants the readers to be able to feel how he felt and understand how everything happened as he tells the story. He wants to provoke the emotional truth. O’Brien tries to prove that imaginations is not completely a bad thing and that it is also a good thing. O’Brien starts to create stories about what could have happen and what he could not do at the war in addition to the original war story. With the power of imaginations, O’Brien is able to talk about something that he could have done but did not do in his past. Imaginations helped him escape the reality. Imagination has the job of finding the real truth, attempting reconciliations and creating reality.
1. My initial impression is that the story was going to have a lot of action in it. My initial impression is based on the title.
Narratives are an important part of an essay as they create a sense of tone needed to describe a story or situation with ease. If the narrative is not correct, it can leave a false impact on the readers or viewers because it lacks the main tone of the story. Having a perfect narrative can not only enhance a story, but it can also prove evidence. In her essay, “An Army of One: Me”, Jean Twenge provides some of the best examples of how narratives enhance a story and she also emphasizes on how the tone of storytelling matters on the impact that the story would have on its readers or listeners. Apart from Twenge, Tim O’Brien also focuses on how the narrative of the story can help in understanding the truth and falsity of the story in his essay, “How to Tell a True War Story.” In addition to O’Brien, Ethan Watters also emphasizes on the narrative of cultural progress in his essay, “The Mega-Marketing of Depression in Japan”, when he talks about the anti-depressants to be sold in Japan. All three authors agree to the fact that narrative, the art of telling a story or explaining a situation, has a major impact on the story and on how it is taken by the audience.
In her 1994 collection of poems, In a Time of Violence, Eavan Boland presents her readers with a very focused set of controlling ideas. These ideas, centered around the concepts of family, history, legends, and storytelling, fluidly intermingle and build upon one another as the work progresses until one notion, above all others, is clear: that the telling and retelling of stories and legends is not only a great power, but a great responsibility. In this collection of poems, the poet consciously accepts this responsibility as a reteller of stories, thereby appropriating to herself the power to strengthen familial bonds, question conventional histories, and create new legends for women of the future.
Throughout my childhood, the idea of having a college education was greatly stressed. As a result, it was my duty as the next generational child, to excel in my studies and achieve a life of prosperity and success. Learning became the basic foundation of my growth. Therefore, my youth was overtaken by many hours spent reading and writing what was known to be correct "Standard" English. I first found this to be a great shortcoming, but as I grew older, I began to realize the many rewards acquired by having the ability to be literate.
“I swear those eyes are my father’s, but father is dead,” I whisper under my breath.
In 1976 a pharmaceutical beta blocker named Atenolol (a synthetic derivative of isopropylamino-propanol) was discovered and developed by the Imperial Chemical Industries (ICI) to treat common cardiovascular disorders (6). To fully understand Atenolol one must first recognize that it is specifically a beta-1 adrenoceptors antagonist. This is crucial because beta blockers follow strict classification guidelines in regards to the specific receptors they will interact with. These receptors are known as β1 adrenoceptors and β2 adrenoceptors, and when a drug (like Atenolol) is found to interact with only β1 adrenoceptors it is called cardioselective while drugs affecting both β1 adrenoceptors and β2 adrenoceptors are known as non-cardioselective. This differentiation between cardioselective versus non-cardioselective allows Atenolol to treat a variety of cardiovascular disorders such as antihypertensive, hypotensive and antiarrhythmic by interacting specifically with the beta-1 adrenergic receptors (7). Atenolol is special when talking about β1 adrenoceptors antagonists because it has the lowest lipid solubility without affecting intrinsic sympathomimetic activity aka ISA (8).
It was as if Lexi’s heart started pumping extra blood to her head to the point of almost becoming dizzy. She sat down and shook it off. Her brother asked her what was wrong and she just brushed it off to the heat. As the game muddled on, Lexi’s brother asked his sister did she see that woman who caught the ball? He too thought that Natalie was quite a looker. Lexi agreed, since her brother already knew her sexual preference. In fact he was always the most supportive thru- out the

Narrative – My Foolish Faith Life without hope in a dull, frustrating world congeals the stuff of human existence.almost. To some, born-lived-died is more than the plot of too many bad novels; it dooms them, chaining their lives to a Maslowian fate. Others drown the raw truth in unrelenting labor, raucous revelry, sunlit spring breezes, cigarettes at noontime, or the bottle. Yet some find hope in this droll, frustrating world, but they will not agree and cannot be sure of that hope. Or can they be a snob?
