Recommended: Impact of technology in our daily life

In general, computers have been known to be a part of everyday life. What is not commonly known though is the abundant amount of different types of categories of computers out there and what is contained within those categories. By knowing some of these categories there is a better sense of knowledge on just how involved computers are in day to day lives. Three of the categories of computers is the functionality, size, and usage of computers. The functionality of computers is quite diverse. One example of a functionality of computers are servers. Servers are vital to the world of cyber. By having servers it allows people the ability to get on the internet or even play video games online. Servers in short provide resources depending on the needs of a user using a computer. Another functionality of Computers is that they can also be set up as work terminals to allow the ability for workers to receive or send information pertaining to …show more content…

One public use of computers is a plane ticket terminal inside an airport. That is used in order to redeem plane tickets that were pre bought online. The way that terminal is able to redeem and print off plane tickets is by being connected to the internet in which this allows the terminal to communicate with a server where it is able to retrieve ticket info and validate credentials that were entered into the terminal. Another usage of computers which is commonly known is as a personal computer or in other words a computer used specifically for one user. Examples of personal computers is the laptop or desktop you use to do your school work on. Another usage of computers is for the processing of data to allow scientist the ability to better understand the world around us. The usage of computers is unlimited as new technology continues to be produced so does the vast amount of different ways of using computers
