Hospitals have different disciplines to help the hospital run smoothly. Therapeutic, diagnostic, informatics, support, and biotechnology services all play a crucial role in the hospital. No service is more important than the other. Each one is needed to prevent any problems within the hospital.
Therapeutic services are the occupations that focus on changing the health status of the patient over time, by doing a treatment or assessing the patient. These services are important because they help improve the patient’s well-being. They offer treatments, counseling, and care for their patients. Examples of a therapeutic services are Dentists, Chiropractors, and Occupational Therapists. These jobs, and many others all help to make the patient better again with direct care.
Diagnostic services are the occupations that use tests and evaluations, to determine what is wrong with the patient. These services are important because they discover the diagnosis of the patient. Diagnostic services offer screenings and and exams, like x-rays and ultrasounds to try and find what your problem is. Examples of diagnostic services are Radiologists, Cytotechnologists, and Medical/Clinical Laboratory Technologists.
