During my life, I have learned many things that I’m either expected to do or know. My family and friends have impacted my life in multiple ways that have shaped me as a person over time. These values that my family has taught me has made me the person I am today and most likely the person I will be for the rest of my life. The first value my family taught me at a young age was to act with integrity. This value made me think before I acted and also to be honest with everybody I know. My nana is the one who taught me the value of having integrity which has lead me to understand how to treat others with respect. The second value that my parents have taught me is respect. They taught me to treat others with respect and to treat others the way you want to be treated. This shaped my life in tremendous ways. It made me learn how to have manners and kept me out of trouble as a kid. If I was respectful to my teachers and friends then I would grow up to be well mannered. This is because they believe in harmony. Social harmony is peaceful interaction of human dynamics among members of a social group or groups. The word harmony means the fitting together of parts to make a connected whole. The Chinese use this to maintain relaxed and to have a better sense of well-being in their lives. All in all, the Chinese culture is vastly different than the culture we have in the west. Although that may be the case, we still have to learn and maintain a connection with the Chinese culture since we are so heavily involved in their economic system. Not only are we involved in theirs, they are greatly involved in ours. There are thousands of factories in China that make products to export to the United States.
