I've always wondered how dangerous danger can be and what it could cause. Danger can really be dangerous depending on the situation. What might it take to go through it without any fear. See Danger can be seen differently by what you think the consequences it has. "The Body", "Stand By Me," by Stephen King has a very good examples of different sorts of danger. It also demonstrates what it might feel after all. Danger is what pushes you to get to your goal Because in order to achieve your goal you have to go through danger ; as a result you will reach your goal and it will make you feel more mature.
Danger may be seen differently by different people depending on their attitude or just their character in overall. Teddy caused the first danger

'RUN FASTER, DICKFACE!,'(Ch.13) Said Gordie to Vern because the train was right behind him. This was probably the most dangerous situation because if they didn't run fast enough they would have died. They would of also had the chance to jump into the water from that high up. “They were both mouthing a single word and the word was jump!,”(Ch.13) Said Chris and Teddys after they saw how close the train was to Vern and Gordie. This was serious danger because they’re about to get hit by the train. They didn’t run fast enough to make it across so they were thinking about jumping which may be another situation. They had no choice so they jumped:” We jumped. Vern landed full-length in the dust and the cinders and I landed right beside him, almost on top of him .“(13) This was very dangerous because they jumped and they could have gotten injured because it was pretty high. Gordie and Vern could of also hurt each other because Gordie almost landed on Vern. Most of the big danger has happened but again it continuous and will continue to follow them until their journey is …show more content…
“THERE! THERE HE IS! RIGHT THERE! I SEE HIM!”, screamed Gordie as he saw Ray Browers body. (25) The boys just got involved in another situation that involves danger because of the dead body. They could be blamed for it or something because they have found a dead body far out of town. “Six inches of steel flicked out, dove-grey in the afternoon half-light Vern and Teddy dropped suddenly into fighting crouches on either side of me,” as Ace and the boys threaten to hurt them for Rays body. (26) This danger was used to protect themselves from getting hurt, The gun had made every situation dangerous. They’ll probably make more danger by using danger in the future because Ace said he’ll get them back. “'Don't let me see you around, dipshit,' Ace said, smiling, and they let go of me and backed off,” said Ace as he saw them chiliin. After the situation with Ray Browers body, they knew it was going to have future consequences. All though danger is in a lot of parts of the film and story, you can still always find a way out. I still think that if danger never existed, it would have changed everything and even people's
In the article "Ten Ways We Get the Odds Wrong", author Maia Szalavitz emphasizes "why worrying about risk is itself risky" (255). While behaving riskily can lead to bad outcomes, having anxiety, being worried, or being afraid of the outcome of some risks can be dangerous to your body both physically and mentally. According to Szalavitz, fear can be one of the scariest things out there. Even President Franklin D. Roosevelt said that the "only thing to fear is fear itself" (FDR's first inaugural address). Both of these sources let the reader know that fear can affect their body's physical and mental well-being. I can attest to this being true through multiple personal experiences.
“…people need not fear the unknown if they are capable of achieving what they need and want" (79). Both protagonist learned about the dangers of fear through the tribulations of their journey. Although life may constantly though curveballs our way, it is important to learn how to take risks. One must to have the audacity to continue on. Odysseus, a courageous Greek hero, would not have made it very far if he was apprehensive of taking risks. Instead, he sought
Everyone has taken risks whether they be big or not, they will lead you down the path you choose in life. In the short stories Beowulf, Black Heart, and The Deep taking risks was a big part in all three. In Beowulf, there is many risks that he took, but the main one was that he risked his life to save the people that he loved. In the second book Black Heart by Mark Brazaitis, the girl risked her life to make friends with something she knew could kill her because she was so lonely. In the final book, The Deep by Anthony Doerr the main character made risks every day because he never knew if he was going to wake up to see the next.
As each successive event becomes more and more dangerous
We all know that staying safe will keep us alive, but it is a boring way to live. The biggest regret a person can have is never trying what they always wanted. As mentioned before, time never stops, so it is crucial that they act now. We fight a battle before we are even born against millions of others to see who will get to the egg first and be fertilized and born. We did not come to this world to just be safe and to be afraid to do new things. We all have a reason to be here and the journey of life is to find our purpose in life. It is what makes life so great, but to get their we must take risks and overcome that fear. People are afraid of taking risks because of failure. They are afraid to fail and not get anywhere. However, that fear can be overcome is they keep pushing and keep trying and keep taking risks. Taking risks will get a person out of their “safe” comfort zones and the result of this can be something so
The Stephen King’s short story, “The Reaper’s Image,” is considered by many to be one of the best pieces of American Gothic Literature. The story is centered around a mysterious, rare mirror called The Delver Glass. Sometimes, when people look into it, they see a haunting reaper. All who see it run away and mysteriously disappear. Its dark, bleak setting, supernatural events, and psychological torment makes the story a classic in the genre.
There are lots of kinds of threats. Some of us are afraid of different sorts of animals, some are afraid of height, some are afraid of closed vessel, etc. However, the most usual fear is a fear of death. Also this piece of literature is about such a fear and what it can do to human.

...e of them fell through and got wet. Since both of these situations had consequences, the reader can foreshadow that this expedition is not going to end well for the man. The man not being on the dog’s side and listening to it got him in the last situation. He built his last fire underneath a tree and the snow melted and fell onto the fire and put it out. His ignorance and overconfidence in his survival skills and not trusting the instincts of the dog eventually led him to his death.
Fear is the emotional state that someone goes into when they feel threatened or endangered. The fact that we do not know everything makes us think that everything we do not know is feared. There are many stories that include the fear of the unknown. Each poem, story, and drama include some type of fear. In “The Yellow Wallpaper”, “Hills Like White Elephants”, and “Poof” there is an extensive amount of fear for the unknown. Charlotte Perkins Gilman, Ernest Hemingway, and Lynn Nottage all used the fear to their advantage while writing and making an entertainment for the readers.
The novella, The Body, written by Stephen King is quintessential for portraying the overarching coming of age theme, however within this theme a more specific theme of innocence vs. experience is present. This theme can be seen within the book’s plot, symbols, and Chris Chamber’s character. Taking a look at the historical time period of when this novella was written, and taking a look at the biographical history of Stephen King himself helps the reader to understand why this particular approach to the theme was chosen. The novella itself travels with four young boys as they begin their journey in search of a dead body, and along the way they not only discover the cruelty of the real world, but they also face the cruelty that can be see within
Lou Anne is responsible for Emilio’s fate ‘Dangerous Minds’ is a film directed by an acclaimed director, John N Smith, which was released in 1995. The film demonstrates how an ex- marine female teacher changed the perception of many young juvenile delinquents through helping them understand the value of education. Within the film, a prideful teenage student, Emilio, living in a ‘broken home’ was murdered by a ‘psychotic crack head.’ His fate was caused by the principal, himself and society that had made him feel isolated and unable to communicate his feelings. Later in the film, before Emilio’s life was taken, he was told to go to Mr Grandy for help by Lou Anne.
Given the heavily limited presence of the narrator in The Killers, the audience is forced to use the latter to understand the characters of the story. In The Killers, the protagonist, Nick Adams, a recurring character in Hemingway’s short stories, is left to face evil in the form of the antagonists, Al and Max, who are the namesake of the story. The narrator introduces the killers as holding onto old traditional standards as one can infer, on the basis of Al’s black overcoat, that they are dressed entirely in black, a known symbolism for evil as well as death. In this sense, the narrator is characterizing the killers as a walking omens of death based on their appearance. Furthermore, the narrator lets the characters’ speech speak for themselves as the killers can be seen as condescending men with a bitter attitude, due to the fact that they repeat numerous times, “Bright Boy,” referring to Nick Adams but also title George, the waiter of the diner the killers are harassing, as such even though he is obviously a man, in a form to belittle the duo. Moreover, they pay no heed to the consequences of their words, stating in brandish that they were contracted to kill the Swedish

Terrified, looking back toward the edge of the cliff, I was less than two yards from falling over the edge, less than two yards from being seriously injured or even dead. Needless to say, after that, I took it very slow afterwards and made sure every step I took was solid. We eventually made it to the top just before my other siblings arrived.
