Introduction:
“Whatever you do, do it well. Do it so well that when people see you do it they want to come back and see you do it again and they will want to bring others and show them how well you do what you do” ~ Walt Disney
An entrepreneur is essential to any country’s economy. Being an entrepreneur is not always the first choice of people, but is forced into it by means of their circumstances. An entrepreneur is someone that is able to identify a need amongst their surroundings and introduce a product or service that satisfies the need.
To become an entrepreneur you have to have strong will power and driving force, you will be required to take big risks and have courage to start a business that may either fail or become successful. Walt Disney and Sam Walton are two excellent examples of entrepreneurs that have taken risks and succeeded. Walt Disney who had a creative mind and started DisneyWorld, and Sam Walton that started Walmart who was set on selling products at lower prices to get higher volume sales. Would you have the courage to take such a risk if you knew that your idea might fail?

1. Walt Disney
Walter Elias Disney was born 5 December 1901. He was an American with a mind that stretched to great depths of creativity. Disney went to McKinley High School and attended night courses at the Chicago Art Institute. Disney however became a high school drop out at the age of 16. He wanted to join the army; but he was too young to join. He then decided to become a member of the Red Cross and served a year in France as an ambulance driver.

Conclusion:
After observing both Sam Walton and Walt Disney I have a better understanding of what it takes to become a successful entrepreneur. Both of these entrepreneurs did not succeed the first time but they pushed through the tough times and reached a gap of success. Clear growth can be recorded of sales increase when Sam first started his shop. This shows that he has done an accurate environmental scan and done market research. As I have mentioned above Sam saw the need for cheaper retail stores and he ‘welcomed’ the opportunity with open arms.
