It's july, the sun gives it a shiny silver look and a sense of authority. People gaze at him with respect, some may even run at the sight of him. The whole town feels safe when he's around, but in his head he feels like a panicked little kid. Thinking of the possibility of being shot at makes him weak at the knees. At the end of the day when the sheriff takes off the badge a feeling of relief fills his body. The sun is hot and there is dust in the air. People in the town are still, no one is on the roads or even sitting on the porch. It's a peculiar day, the sheriff walks up and down the streets looking for anyone or anything at this point. He strolls through the town looking for any sign of life, he finds none. “THE ONLY THING OUT
