Quality Management System is to provide customer satisfaction by continuous improvement of product/process by total involvement and dedication of each and every individual. A structured approach applied correctly will help in improving the construction industry’s performance.
The purpose of the project is to understand the adoption and implementation of QMS in Bangalore construction industry and client dissatisfactions in a process to identify and measure construction processes for continuous improvement and customer satisfaction. To realize the objectives, literature review and questionnaire survey was conducted.
This research is an attempt made to understand the QMS in Bangalore construction industry and how customer satisfaction be improved.

CHAPTER – 1
INTRODUCTION
1.1 BACKGROUND
The concept of Quality Management is to ensure a product which is of zero defects and to achieve required level of product quality which is well planned and organised. Quality Management in construction industry means achieving required quality of construction works by continuous improvement of processes and satisfying customers by increasing long-term competitiveness of the company.
Manufacturing companies have realised that better product/process quality can be achieved by successful implementation of Quality Management System. The construction industry lags behind in the implementation of Quality Management System and the reason behind this is the perception that Quality Management System will work only in manufacturing firms.

...The main barriers inhibiting the successful implementation of QMS in Indonesian construction industry were the organizational leadership, effectiveness and roles, current and future conditions of work and the lack of top management commitment, employee training, lack of involvement of project management practitioner, lack of company commitment to satisfy customers.

In the International journal of management and social science vol.9, No. 1, about the “Implementation of TQM in Pakistan construction industry” explained the suitability, acceptability and degree of implementation of Quality Management practices in Pakistan construction industry. The research also revealed that the construction industry in Pakistan was lacking the knowledge of Quality and there was lack of training and awareness among the employees working for the organization.
