Introduction
In the United States of America, many of the present marriages that are taking place are interracial marriages. Men and women from all different descents are coming together and falling in love, they have started families and a new generation of mixed babies. There is mixing of all different colors, nationalities, and religions, causing different types of responses from others, negative and positive. Focusing on black and white marriages which has been one the longest and largest interracial marriage that takes place in America. Whether it been a black man and white women or vice versa, it is a very high percentage that continues to grow throughout the years. Acceptance of black and white marriages is high but stays low at the same time. Even the new generation show less interest in supporting couples of different color as researchers have found. Research has found that everything can affect the perspective of a person while observing a black and white couple. Where they may live, whether or not they go to church, who they work with or the people they associate themselves with. All those things appeared to affect the way people thought of interracial marriages (B. Johnson and C. Jacobson, 2005). A person who did not go to church seemed to accept a black and white marriage rather than a person who does go to church. A person who only has friends of their own race or color did not accept black and white marriages rather than someone who did have a mix of friends and interacted with those of diferent color and race and those who do not work or live by people of color and different culture do not accept black and white marriages or any other interracial marriage for that …show more content…

People with a higher education and higher incomes approve of interracial marriages rather than someone who earns a smaller salary and has a lower education (2005). Age groups from 18-29 of both genders have a 18.5% approval, not much of a difference from the 64 and over percent of 10.7. This fact may shock many because it seems unusual for a the young, fresh generation to disprove of something that is normal and is easily acceptable. The younger generation is brainwashed by the older generation to believe that they cannot believe in love with a man or women of color and that they must stick to their own kind; which causes this fear and rejection to the other person.
