All around the world, people believe in different ways as to how the whole universe was created; Creation or Evolution? Creation is the belief that God took seven days to create all the stars, planets, moons, water, plants, and all life on earth. This is a belief that is adopted by Christians all over the world. Evolution is a more scientific approach to the creation of the universe and earth. Evolutionists believe that the universe took millions of years to become what it is today. Not just seven days. They (evolutionists) believe that the whole universe happened from a “God Particle” which imploded on itself creating all the matter in existence. All though things like the Law of conservation of mass, people like Charles Darwin, and the fact
One is that those who believe evolution is how humans and life “magically appeared” on this planet, may also believe that the universe was created by the “big bang theory”. Yet again, another theory with no legit proof. The big bang has one major flaw though, science states that through the Law of conservation of Mass that “mass in an isolated system is neither created nor destroyed by chemical reactions or physical transformations” (Boundless.com). So therefore, by the law of conservation of mass, the big bang is false, because the “god particle” was an isolated system with no reactants coming into contact with it, and the only reason it is believed is because science says so. Evolutionists believe in two theories that are destroyed by one simple law. Another issue with evolution is things have evolved, and so by things evolving, there are fossils of the creatures that had died during the evolution phase of their species. Yet no matter how hard science has tried, there is no crossover fossils. A crossover fossil is a fossil of one species becoming another. So say that a lizard was evolving into a bird, there would be fossils from every stage of the evolution, but none have ever been found. One can even google “bird lizard fossil” and the only images that come up are either a lizard, or a bird. Not a four-legged lizard with a bird like skull and wings growing out of its feet. In order for evolution to be true, there should be fossils found that show the process of species changing, and none are ever
Evolution is deemed as being scientific because it is testable and correctable, unlike creationism which deals with “God’s will,” an unchanging and set in stone philosophy that contradicts any scientific notion it attempts to deliver. Evolution is the scientific explanation to how organisms developed the forms and functions
The theory of Evolution was developed by Charles Darwin throughout his life and published in 1859 in a book called "The Origin of Species." In brief, it states that all living things on earth evolved over time and that natural selection is how they evolve. Natural selection is the process by which entire populations change in response to their environment. It works because those who are better adapted to the environment reproduce at a higher rate than those who are less suited for the environment (Biology, 2001). It is widely accepted that humans evolved from primates. That is why the trial had the nickname of "Monkey Trial". In contrast, the theory of Divine Creation states that the universe was created in seven days by God and that animals have not evolved since. One can see clear differences between these two theories.
(Genesis 1-2). Religionists believe that the universe was created in seven days because that is what the Bible says. There are some people who have a strict set of principles and they are called fundamentalists. There are scientific fundamentalists and religious fundamentalists. Their beliefs are very extreme.
If creation is taken metaphorically, the earth could be four to fifteen billion years old. However, it is not essential which theory one believes, what matters is that God created all of it. This informs Christians that God created the universe; this is the most basic affirmation of Genesis. There is no room given for any other creative power. Through God’s spoken word, the universe was created.
Evolution is described, as being the change that occurs on a genetic level when a new generation spouts from an ancestral population. Change is destined to happen. That is why in the science of biology, the word evolution means descent with modification. Through various factors such as the temperature of the environment, humidity, and altitude a species will adapt to survive and will eventually pass on genetic traits that help the species next generation survive. In 1859, Charles Darwin, a geologist, published ‘The Origin of Species.’
Natural selection is a theory suggesting that some genetic traits will be more common than another trait in a given environment in which the organisms live in. Natural selection is a slow and gradual process which will happen in the matter of generations of the species. The traits become less or more common depending on the environmental circumstances, in other words, selection pressure.
Forty percent of the American population believe in Young Earth creationism. There are many different types of creationism. Young Earth creationism is the literal interpretation of genesis that states that the universe was created through an act of god 10,000 or fewer years ago. Whereas evolution is the theory that all life evolved from a single organism and the changes that take place in organisms. There are many famous debates over this topic as well.
Species that now populate the Earth come from other species that existed in the past, through a process of descent with modification. Biological evolution is the historical process of transformation from one species in other descendant species, including the extinction of most of the species that have ever existed. One of the most romantic ideas in the evolution of life is that any two living organisms, different as they are, they share a common ancestor sometime in the past. We and any current chimpanzee share an ancestor of 5 million years. We also have a common ancestor with any bacteria that exist today, although time this predecessor to soar in this case more than 3000 million years. However, the idea of evolution by itself is an open concept, is a mechanical description of change does not say anything about the engine or the creative force behind the transformation. Thus, in principle, evolution can be driven by immanent laws of matter, or a divine creator or by blind forces,
The clash between evolutionists and creationists seems to be far from its finale. Both sides come up with potent arguments in favor of their positions. Evolutionists stress the absence of factual evidence in favor of God’s existence, point to fossils as a proof of the evolutionary process, and name the Big Bang as the reason of the universe’s appearance and further development. Creationists, in their turn, stress that there are no intermediate links between species in found fossils, consider complexity and diversity of nature to be an indirect evidence of God’s existence, and refer to the second law of thermodynamics to argue against the Big Bang theory. However, none of the sides seem to see that both points of view can not only co-exist, but be successfully combined. Such a combination could explain everything at once.
In order for a species to survive, its population has to evolve. Evolution is the process of gradual change driven by natural selection to improve survival. Evolution is the explanation of how life got to its current state. Before the idea of evolution, the Bible gave the explanation of how things came to be, the Theory of Creation. Charles Darwin is credited for developing the theory of evolution. Scientist such as Georges Cuiver, James Hutton and Charles Lyell, and Jean-Baptiste Lamarck heavily influenced Darwin. It is because of Darwin’s voyage aboard the Beagle that we now have a scientific explanation of how species came to be. Canines have evolved and have been domesticated by artificial selection into our household pets. Unlike natural
In the history of science vs. religion there have been no issues more intensely debated than evolution vs. creationism. The issue is passionately debated since the majority of evidence is in favor of evolution, but the creation point of view can never be proved wrong because of religious belief. Human creation breaks down into three simple beliefs; creation theory, naturalistic evolution theory, and theistic evolution theory. The complexities of all three sides create a dilemma for what theory to support among all people, religious and non-religious.
In today’s society, many topics create a very substantial amount of controversy between different groups of people. From abortion to the healthcare reform, there are countless topics of discussion. One of the major and ongoing controversial topics in the religious community is the Big Bang theory versus Creation. One side of the controversy is, predominately, the scientific community, with the other end obviously being the religious community. Genesis 1:1-2 says: “First this: God created the heavens and earth—all you see, all you don’t see.
Creation Vs Evolution “The greatest mystery of existence is existence itself” (Chopra). Chopra, a world-renowned author, perceives the existence of life as a truly mystifying celebration. The pending question that many scientists, and even theists, attempt to answer is how life ultimately began. Currently, the mystery is left with two propositions, evolution and creation. While both approaches attempt to answer the origins of life, evolution and creation are two contrasting concepts.
Creationism is a Bible–based view of human origin that states humans were created in their current form and have not changed, or evolved, throughout the years. However the belief that our species has changed over time to suit our environment is considered evolution. As both sides possess strong evidence for their conclusions, the debate that stemmed many years ago, even before
One of the greatest questions of all time is: "Where the heck did we come from?" One of the most popular answers to this question is creationism, the idea that everything was created by a higher being. Another idea is evolution, the idea that all living organisms descended from a less complex organism. Up and coming in the last century, evolution possesses a new way of thinking that is being greatly accepted by the scientific community. Despite this fact many people argue that evolution has no facts to support it and there are several reasons why evolution can't happen.
